#TBT to an amazing project that involved beautiful finishes, clean lines and bold, rich hues for a coworking space uptown. It's been tabled, but I have my fingers crossed that it will materialize in the near future. This happens sometimes in the industry. We go hard and deliver excellence anyway. ✨

All set for our client meetings tomorrow here at The Design Loft.
Providing a Covid safe environment is paramount to us as we continue to work on an appointment only basis at the moment. Looking forward to discussing ideas for these upcoming projects.

Phase : Programming (what we refer to this phase as) by @forbesmasters
Space planning is optimal for honing in on what functions need to be addressed according to your clients needs. It helps to put an early item list in perspective and allows you to get a grip on the best circulation pattern for the space !
This is also where design problems are addressed and solved creatively. ✨
The types of springs inside sofas can affect how they feel, so plan accordingly when buying a new couch. Coiled springs will create a firm effect. Springs in a zigzag shape will create a softer effect. You should also test the springs by pushing directly on to the base with the cushions removed. The springs should compress and bounce back easily.
Programming is the first phase out of five in our design process. So why are we producing renderings this early in the process? 👀
We believe the earlier we train our clients mind to be more imaginative the better. These renderings are considered preliminary. They only serve the purpose of expressing key design ideas and space planning.
Did you know most people outside of the design field think of a 2D floor plan as a map? This goes to show how confusing just presenting a floor plan can be 🤷🏽♀️
What the rendering does not reflect is the final selection of finishes and furnishings. If your clients are imaginatively impaired 👀 present a black and white version of the renderings.
This floor option solved the design problem of having no real center on a large enough wall for a bed. Being that this is a tudor style home there is a dormer roof creating low angled ceilings and multiple small pocket windows.
By presenting the option of drapes along the ceiling and wall completely covering one window the bed is able
To be centered along this wall and we create the illusion that no pocket window exists here 🤯
