I feel blessed to have so many beautiful castles here in Ireland. Castle hunting is top of my things to do on a road trip in Ireland.
Our stop at the beautiful Glencar Waterfall in County Leitrim was not even on our tour itinerary, but my tour guide made this special detour after I told him my Irish ancestors came from Leitrim. I thought the photo stop at the road sign I posted earlier would be the extent of my Leitrim visit, so this was such a lovely surprise! Thanks to my guide Darran and @vagabondireland for making this special memory possible!
It is a gorgeous spot, too with a nice wooded path to walk around. More photos in my story/highlight. I see why they call it #lovelyleitrim
Traveling messes with you. In a good way though. You always crave more. An addiction that is hard to meet. Every country, every culture, trip and the people you meet, pulls you deeper and deeper into a never ending pool of #wanderlust . Your heart hurts when you stop and your mind explodes with the idea of new places. So, fill your soul with adventure and you’ll live a fulfilling life! #tbsummer
What a beautiful day it was yesterday 💙 And one of our family members was on one of those beautiful boats 😀
Rain or shine just smile and keep moving forward. 🌞☔😁 I did struggle to stay positive later on during the night section but thankfully due to the good vibes from my crew, admiring the beautiful night time sky we had mixed in with a bit patience & perseverance I got smiling again.
The KWU is 200km it's designed to test you and everyone has low points. Just keep moving forward.
I considered becoming a priest very seriously. I wanted to travel the world. By the time I turned 16, I realized I was only in it for selfish reasons. And, more importantly, I didn't want to sacrifice the ladies! — James McAvoy
Check out the Kerry Way, this is a picture of the trail between Caherdaniel to Sneem. I ran this section at night and its actually a Dark Sky Reserve meaning it is one of the most beautiful places in Western Europe to run at night as you get to enjoy the moon and stars as part of a 200km challenge.
Magic Risks || Riesgos Mágicos (Ross Castle, Killarney; County Kerry. Ireland).
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." T.S. Eliot.
When you want to photograph a place at sunrise, it is usually convenient to visit it during the day to know the surroundings, especially when it is a place located in nature. However, on my visit to the Killarney National Park, I had to change my plans at the last minute and I could not go to Ross Castle during my first day as I had planned. Despite this, I decided to go to the castle before dawn to try to capture it during the sunrise. My hostel was located just 3 km away from there, so I put on my winter clothes and my headlamp, and I took the mountain bike that I had rented to get there quickly.
As I was moving along the tracks and the forest was becoming more leafy, dozens of bright spots were appearing in the dark, they were the eyes of the many deer that inhabit this park, one of the largest reserves of this species in Europe. I kept cycling but less than 500 meters to reach the castle, Lough Leane began to flood the road. Maybe at that moment I should have turned around and taken the other longest path, but I decided to take a risk and move forward. Big mistake! because in a few seconds the water reached my knee and it was impossible to pedal. However, despite the cold and having half of my body soaked, I used all my energy to turn around and get to the castle as quickly as possible by the other road, which fortunately was not flooded.
Once there, I quickly found this composition with the last fallen leaves of autumn. But neither the sky nor the light were interesting. Going back to the hostel would have been the most coherent, but I decided to stay there, and almost an hour after sunrise, the sun filtered through the clouds illuminating the magical castle for a moment with its warm light. Instants before, I had managed to include a swan in my composition. Without a doubt, once again the risks had been totally worth it. #discoverireland#ireland#descubreirlanda#loveireland#turismoirlanda#killarney#rosscastle#irelandtravel#ireland_passion#daily_ireland#instaireland

🇮🇪 Mussendun Temple was built in 1785 as part of the estate of Frederick Augustus Harvey, bishop of Londonderry and Earl of Bristol and it was meant as a summer library. 📚 ☀️ It’s architecture was inspired by the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli near Rome 🇮🇹 . .
