Yesterday Jon and I celebrated our official one year anniversary. I woke up to breakfast in bed and a delivery of a beautiful bunch of my favourite flowers. Sadly and much to his annoyance I had to work during the day but in the evening I planned a surprise outdoor cinema night in the garden and cracked open a bottle of champagne I’d been saving for a special occasion. I even made a little fire pit so it was really cosy and I managed (just about) to not set anything on fire. Small victories for someone as unlucky as me.
Today we went back to Ilam for a picnic in the park and more fizz after last weeks Dovedale failure we knew the perfect picnic spot and we then went for a (very hungover) stroll around the beautiful park.
Wishing everyone a happy weekend!
I hope you’ve all been out enjoying the sunshine.
I’ve had a lovely day sipping on gin tinnies and floating around here on my lilo pretending I’m in the Balearics! 🏝👙☀️

The last month has been kind of surreal for me. I NEVER expected the response I'm getting to my illustrations and I'd just like to say an enormous thankyou to everyone that has enquired or commented on my illustrations it means the absolute world to me. And even bigger thankyou to everyone that has allowed me to illustrate their homes. I know the chances are that interest in them will die down fairly soon but while the going is good I'm going to enjoy it. Also big stationary fan over here so having to have a little note books to keep me up to date with my work is absolutely thrilling to me 😂 #shopsmall#shopsmallbusiness

So I did some stealth decorating today. If you read my post this morning you will know my hubby and kids are visiting my mother in law (socially distanced day trip) and I was debating what to do with the first bit of time I've had on my own in 11 weeks!
So I've laid in the sun, cleaned the house and updated our downstairs loo. I'm feeling a bit smug as I LOVE it! What do you guys think? Swipe for the before and the before-before!
Now for a takeaway and some wine. Happy Saturday xxx
So I think I’m just going to paint the bargain bamboo swivel chairs 🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
After four hours of scrubbing with wire wool I’ve had enough (I’d had enough after half hour to be fair!) This one has come up lovely but there’s still lots of bits left and my arms are killing me - there’s absolutely no way I can face the other one, no way José! They’ll look nice painted black anyway 🤣
☆ Never make the same mistake twice...there are so many new ones...why not try a different one each day ☆ ***I posted this earlier & then deleted it BY MISTAKE!!! 😂😂*** We all make mistakes but I guess it's important to not repeat them! This quote is trying to say that the best lessons we learn are from the mistakes that we make, so instead of letting them get us down we need to let them help us to grow!
I have been reflecting on all the projects I have done since being in lockdown. This @ikeauk Brimnes Bookcase upcycle is one of my favourites. It was originally white, I then painted it yellow, which I loved, but I much prefer this neutral stone rosie colour by @frenchicpaint. It means that I can add whatever splashes of colour I want! I also decoupaged the drawers and added new handles. This project is definitely a success story for me! Swipe to see a close up and to see what it was like before 👉

Paddling pool arrived yesterday so we’re ready to rock this weekend. Bring it on! I should’ve gone for a run this morning but I didn’t, instead I was gifted a lie in after a difficult week and poorliness in the night. Maybe tomorrow! .
A splash of... green! This was one of my first #lockdownrenovation projects and I’m so happy we did it.
Anyway, it looks like a scorcher of a weekend yay! Anyone else suffering with hay fever badly?! I actually said last week ‘mine hasn’t been bad at all, it must be the trees at work’ then BAM this week it’s hit me so bad!
Day 29 @myhousethismonth a splash of #myhousethismonth .
THIS is the only reason why I’m not morbidly obese just now. Totally embracing the bottomless carbs of lockdown (that’s a thing right?) but my only saving grace has been the tremendous amount of muscle power that has gone into revamping our garden. .
So, this is very much a mid-progress shot. Still gotta finish the pebbles, and paint and tile the front stoop. I know it’s way tidier, but I’m not gonna lie: I miss the green (weedy) grass from before (swipe right). I had a bit of a wobble as the mulch/woodchips weren’t quite what I expected, and, well, it just looks kinda lifeless. I’m REALLY hoping this new look will grow on me - pun intended. .
Scalloped edge club... assemble 🙌🏻➿ I’ve had so many messages from people the last few months who have seen my highlights (aka me in pjs, painting stuff) and taken the plunge. I found it very therapeutic and my love for it isn’t going anywhere! I recently discovered @pagesofemma through her hashtag #isolateanddecorate and she is a fellow scalloped edge fan club member - I love how she’s done it up high with a secondary colour stripe underneath👌🏻 Look at her daughters bedroom... isn’t it wonderful 💞 all the love for this set up, including one of my custom MAY wall hangings in parchment and grape... swoon. I’m currently involved in a really fun giveaway over on Emma’s page, go check it out and enter if you haven’t already. I’m offering a custom MAY 💖
So before all of this madness every Friday I would go to my Slimming World group to see what lies the scales told 🤥🙄 and I, along with some of my Slimming World babes would call Fridays, F**k it Friday. Basically where anything goes. So picture me swinging from the chandelier waving my bra in the air, swigging on a bottle of wine with a belly full of Pizza and crisps. Well Fridays aren't any different now, in fact everyday is a Friday in my world! My body and liver are testimony to my lockdown lifestyle!
Livin la vida Lockdown 💃🥴 The thought of my first socially distanced meet up next week has got me all giddy! Let's just hope they regonise me 😂
Have you missed these shots of my feet in a building site?
No? Me either ! It's because I have nothing to post because the house is a mess and so is the garden!
Rendering started today but won't be finished for a few weeks as we have been (luckily) slotted in between jobs! Super happy with it so far!
Next week we have a big job list of tying up the ends and that's a tricky one to time manage! As a previous HOD you would think I would be on it- but this goes above my head!
Fingers crossed for nice weather, building work to continue smoothly (lol) and McDonald's re-opening ...not to much to ask is it ?
All joking and moaning aside, I am feeling grateful for the kicks in my belly and the mess that is our house, that will one day be a blissful place to relax, play and grow in.

•GARDEN PROJECT UPDATE•
PLZ 💖 & SAVE THIS POST
The garden looked perfectly fine, however this corner has never looked right to me and felt a waste of space. Took a full day to move all the plants, so the rest of the garden now looks full but as they grow taller there is under planting so l actually put thought into it, for once🤣By heck redigging up plants what a messy drama especially when you have artificial grass and then wood dust mixed into the project too, 3 attempts of hoovering and it’s almost back to normal, however this weekend we are going to start creating the garden cabin shell, really can’t wait.
Sometimes you need to make changes to an already completed area and l think the final result will be worth it.💕
On my stories l asked you lovelies what is it going to house...
Well it’s going to have a mini bar and a hot tub. Now l don’t want to sound posh as it’s only an inflatable one but l did go with top of the range. The reasoning for not purchasing a rigid is that we have never owned one before, so want to do a test run with a cheaper version. If we don’t use it all year at least we can drain it and put it away, the cabin could be used as an office as it’s going to be fully insulated and have electric, also if we bought a rigid version it would need craning in, so when we do move it’s all added messing about, sensible option but a @layzspaofficial
Currently drinking coffee in the sun awaiting for my wood delivery, should be working but l am my own boss, another 10mins won’t hurt.
If you get to the bottom of this plz leave me a 💖or even a comment, my posts are being seen lately which makes me feel sad as l don’t get to see my favs without searching for you!
I had such a great day yesterday, spent late morning into early afternoon faffing about with my next lot of @hmhome goodies. Turns out, those extra floor tiles come in handy for hiding plug sockets than never get used.
This weather has been an absolute life saver and it’s making me super happy. Sat out yesterday afternoon and got wayyyy too much sun.

We are Mr and Mrs Smith! This is our (quick) story...
We moved into number 62C in February 2016 after making a quick decision to buy. Less than a year later our neighbours hit us with horrific news telling us the roof needed done and it would cost a minimum of £30k! Well we were miserable.
For the next year, we were so down, anxious and scared. We didn’t want to meet our neighbours in case they started taking money- which we had none of after buying our first house at 22 years old! But the dreaded day came... the roof was fixed and a loan was taken out.
From then we decided we were moving. We would not spend any money or give any love to our house. So we didn’t. And we began to think about selling. But then we decided to get engaged and the prospect of moving was patched for wedding savings.
We got married in October 2019! And now, 6 months on, a pandemic later and a couple new jobs, we have decided that it is time to give our house a makeover. .
We love our style that we started but now we want to give it 110%, spending the money and the time to do it ourselves. We are ready and we are excited. Watch this space... 🏡✌🏻
Panelling & Peonies...little bit of an insta cliché or the perfect pair 🤪💐
Thought I’d get in some pics of the panelling because now lockdown is finally easing up here, the kitchen renovation will resume, and soon that’s probably all I’ll be taking pictures of 🤷🏼♀️😂 Have a lovely evening folks 💕 #diypanelling#wallpanelling#fauxpanelling#hallwaydecor

I am so impressed with myself!
I wanted some prints for our bedroom gallery wall. That meant something to us.
So I searched high and low and nothing I found was quite 'us'
So I thought I'd give it a go myself.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not about to jump on the prints home business band wagon! I'm no where near talented or creative enough for that.
But these, these are 'us'. Each one a line of a song that has meaning and memories attached to our life together. So I'm pretty happy with them.
Not perfect, but perfect for me.
Oh and it's cost me £3 for the 3 frames! I already had the glossy photo paper! Bonus bargain!
Wow what an absolute scorcher the last few days have been. I’ve definitely taken the best couple of weeks off work and after spending the previous week going from one decorating project to another I’ve really enjoyed a more relaxing couple of days in the sun so far this week, although honestly who knows how long I’ll be able to stay away from a paintbrush!
If you’ve seen my stories you’ll know we’ve been celebrating Jons birthday with a Greek themed surprise party. We both had the best day yesterday and I’d definitely recommend getting a little pool if this weather is sticking around. If it wasn’t for the fact I could see my neighbours floral duvets over the fence I swear I could’ve actually been in Greece!
I still haven’t got any proper cushions for the pallet sofa yet but I’m quite enjoying the ‘rustic’ look for now and have a plan to make something (hopefully) better at a later date.
I hope you’ve all been making the most of this gorgeous weather in a safe way.
