So the roofer who fixed some slate for us a few weeks ago said he was so busy he wouldn’t be able to come out to fix this joist for a few weeks at least. Instead he called David, talked him through what to do, sent him a tutorial and he’s only gone and done it himself. So there we go, David’s first attempt at repairing a joist ✅ Another talent to add to his never ending list 😁
So happy with our new pool and outdoor area! 🏊♂️ 💦 Now we just need some nice outdoor decor to complete this space 😍

Another sunny day in Devon! ☀️ I am back at work, taking enquiries and booking up for work in June.
Now is the perfect time for:
Outdoor Lighting and Power
Upgrading lighting or sockets in the home
Consumer unit upgrades 👉 Please get in touch on 07725108319 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
We built a decking!! Lots of YouTube videos and heaps of measuring and remeasuring later and it’s finally done 😁😁 (well I’m three boards short but close enough 😆). Swipe right for during and before photos. We had a very tired little concrete patio ledge thing out the back of the house that was barely wide enough for a table. Since lockdown started we’ve been spending so much time in the garden that we decided to invest some time and money into it to make better use of it and just get to enjoy it more!
The 1st of June and the first dip of the summer 🏊♀️. The kids were in the water loads last week but today was the first time I took the plunge. As the saying goes 'April, May stay away from the sae 😉 June, July swim 'til you die'. No pressure there then
The container makeover continues.
Doors are painted in Rostex Super Akva primer and Unica Akva topcoat in U119.
Swing is painted in Otex primer and Unica topcoat in white. All by @tikkurila_ireland from @carlowpainthub and applied with @twofussyblokes rollers from @butleranddunne. Swipe for a before shot ➡️ Keep an eye on my stories for further progress 👍
The best Sundays are those when you wake up thinking it’s Monday. It’s like being gifted a whole extra day to do what you want! Within the confines of lockdown and having three small children. Having just painted over some rather loud wallpaper I was trying to think of a way to add some colour back in. I may have mentioned I’m a bit obsessed with murals atm. One of my favourite ever patterns is Siirtolapuutarha by @marimekko. I can’t actually say it but I love the boldness and naivety of the design. It’s also lends itself well to imitation, however poor. I’m wondering if I should incorporate another colour? 🤔Thoughts? 💭
Today we stripped Trev of his stickers from his previous owner, and replaced them with ones of our own!
Loving this @banksy vw girl with the balloon and our insta handle either side of the van! We had to keep the mandala though 😍
Can’t wait to add to the collection the more we travel about 🙌🏻🏖

This dollhouse belonged to me when I was younger. I have fond memories of my amazing porcelain furniture that my mum picked out for me. We didn’t have many nice things growing up, and what we did have, my mother worked tirelessly for as a single mum.
My husband and I decided we wanted to redecorate my dollhouse rather than buy Evelyn a fancy one for lots of money, and I have ZERO regrets. Seeing her play with it today gave me so much joy!
Happy early Birthday Evie 💕
Thank you Aunty @_maisgee for the lovely furniture! #homeliving#homedecor#evelynjessie#isolationrenovation#dollhouse#diy#neutraldecor#perfect
Many months later and I have finally cleared, detail sanded and treated the other half of the lounge floorboards 😅 They’ve been covered in cardboard for protection since I first belt-sanded them and this part of the room has been the ‘workshop’ as my boyfriend converted his van and I fitted our kitchen 😂 I am so excited for it to become the dining area it was always intended to be! Although not too sure where the workshop will end up 🤔
I’m having a wobble today. It’s weird because it hasn’t been a wobbly day really; I’ve walked 4 miles with a 20 month old on my back, the dog has had a run, I talked to a precious friend, we had a healthy fish tea, I watered the garden and the lawn and everything has been ok and I ticked some boxes.
But still I’m feeling sideways. I’m looking at the house and I’m just feeling like it will never be finished. When I think of the list it is so insurmountably long, there isn’t a single room that doesn’t still need some paint, or some skirting or some storage. .
Things rocketed whilst Tom was stuck at home, but now he’s back at work and the year stretches out ahead of us I am sobered by the thought of those very short and very precious weekends that have to somehow meet all our DIY goals and offer some reconnection and family time.
I don’t know, I’m wobbly it’s hard. It’s hard because it’s hard. I have so much to be thankful for and yet there is so much challenge. .
I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else was feeling a bit like this today. I see you, it’s easy to equate productivity with success. And it’s also easy to feel like you can’t complain, that others have it worse but someone else’s struggle doesn’t diminish yours. .
Sometimes, it’s these in between moments that I meet myself and I have to admit that I’m wobbly and it’s ok to be here. I’m just going to sit with it and feel it and hope I find more hope in these walls tomorrow ❤️
Worker Bees have been back out in force today 🐝 after a few days enjoying the sunshine...the house is sparkling clean, washing is done, yarden is welllll getting there, slowly slowly.
A little before and after of the downstairs loo, this project was the first on the list at the beginning of lockdown...all those many months ago and I’m so happy we went to the dark side 🖤.
Found some nice fir flooring hiding underneath the laminate in the back hallway and laundry room. Archer helped me fix up the parts that weren’t looking so nice. Now to finish mudding and sanding the walls so I can sand down these beautiful floors! I hope to post more progress pics of this reno if my phone would stop crashing every time I tried to make a post with more then 5 photos 😅 #isolationrenovation
Finally finished the bedrooms! (Apart from carpet coming up but starting to realise renovations are never fully finished)
Alot of the artwork came from @loveatomica, thanks for kicking off inspiration when we had very little!
Befores are taken from the listing exactly 2 years ago... Furniture is a mix of vintage, @soakandsleep@madedotcom and @homesense_ukie
I have about 20 bananas to use up and bake into a loaf (lockdown banana loaf is a thing y’know) but you can bet money on me not doing that and drinking gin instead. Swipe for more kitchen evolution ⏯ Cheers to it not being s*** anymore!🥂😅 .

When you as an adult make a decision to live in a building site, it’s easier to compromise and learn to live with the disruption. However, I definitely had not anticipated how quickly I would start to feel guilty and even upset at what we had brought Baby I home to. She obviously didn’t care, she was adorably milk bombed the whole time.
We’re now less overwhelmed with the task we’ve given ourselves, but lockdown blues has meant that those ugly ‘we’re terrible parents for bringing her home to this shit hole’ thoughts have started cropping up again. With that, I decided that since the whole room would be destroyed anyway, we should paint her little corner of the bedroom! I think my words to Mark were ‘We’re ripping that down anyway yeah? Right, fuck it then.’ Pretty impressed with what I’ve managed to do with cheap acrylic paints and some make up sponges. 👍🏻 #renovation#dusthouse#housetohome#apartmenttherapy#granddesigns#restorationproject#isolationrenovation#diyproject#bedroom#bedroomrenovation#victorianterrace
👩💻 HOME OFFICE LOVE 💕 This week I decided to spruce up my home office and give it a paint. What better time do a mini office tour than whilst she’s still clean and tidy 🤣
I’m spending a lot of time in here at the moment so wanted to make it beautiful. It’s turned out looking a lot like the inside of a Battenberg cake, this wasn’t my inspiration, but I love it all the same.
There’s also a new map design which I've nearly finished drawing on my screen. Who can guess where this is?

Covid-19 safe renovation hack: check out our new plantation shutters, which we ordered online, had delivered and installed ourselves today. We are so bloody happy to be able to still do some renovating during this pandemic and are in love with the final product, which has transformed our living spaces. We bought these online from @shuttersdept who are an Aussie, factory direct business. Check out my stories to see how we installed these today. #isolationrenovation

We are FINALLY coming back 🙌🏼 After making the heartbreaking decision to close our doors 5 long weeks ago - our team and I have decided to reopen the salon next Wednesday ♥️ We have done our best to help slow the spread by #stayinghome , however we feel that it is time to open our doors to you all once again and sort those roots out.
We assure you, our team will go above and beyond to create a clean and safe salon environment, and pride ourselves in complying with current health and safety restrictions.
Furthermore, we ask that you please reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell at all, or have been in contact with anyone feeling unwell.
We ask that you sanitize your hands at the desk prior to entering our space, and apologize for not being able to offer refreshments or magazines at this time.
Bottled water will be the only thing we are able to offer.
As we have to abide my social distancing laws and keep the salon’s numbers low, we ask that you arrive at your appointment alone. Unfortunately at this time, we ask that friends, relatives or children remain home for your appointment to reduce the risk to our staff and fellow clients.
My team and I are ready to get back to creating magic in the salon and we thank you for your patience and understanding in this unprecedented time.
In order to manage clients within the salon unfortunately we have had to close down online bookings for now so please call us on 9939 0146 or DM us to arrange your appointment.
We will be getting in touch with each and every one of you who had a booking in the last 5 weeks that we had to cancel.. we haven’t forgotten about you, and you will be first on the list!
We REALLY look forward to seeing you all once again and bringing your hair out of quarantine!
Together, we can beat this - why not have a fresh new look while we do it. Just like the salon will. #staytuned#isolationrenovation

Your wallpaper samples should be with you by Friday this week! Eek! We can’t wait to see what you think of our new print collection, and what #isolationcreation ideas you come up with 🖤🤍🤎 .
The nouveau BON h.q. 🖥 ✏️ Having a massive overhaul of my home working space has been on my to do list for ages. I have longed to do my own giant mural wall, based on the style of my BON canvases. It was so much fun creating this one. It’s the perfect backdrop for all my bon bits! On the top of my wish list was a big desk. I need lots of space to spread out when working and this one is spot on. I sourced a large plywood sheet which we mounted on a wooden frame work in the corner and then extended over a lovely old chest of drawers I had. A few years ago I updated the handles on these with some neon yellow spray paint. I wanted a chest of drawers here to keep all my packaging and paint in for easy access. My desk chair is a vintage Ercol dining chair I stripped and painted the top half of (I have the other three painted in yellow, neon pink and turquoise in the kitchen!). It’s ergonomic design makes it really comfortable and good for tight spaces. Next to this I have my lovely @blockdesign peg board. It’s perfect for keeping everything in order, even better, they now have fab accessories that slot in the holes like letter and pen holders and shelves. Next to this I have a vintage standard lamp picked up at an antiques fair, painted neon pink, obviously! It’s crowning glory is this gorgeous wicker shade from @smouk_interiors with some little @petraboase birds. I didn’t want to have all the walls done in a mural, so the back wall of the desk area is painted in @crownpaintsuk ‘Paradise Green’. It’s such a fresh colour, I find it really invigorating. My seated view has a glimpse of everything I love, a rattan bulls head from a trip to Spain, an aloe vera for a botanical pick me up and Herb’s yellow post van from France! The desk lamp is an old lamp of my parents that I sprayed neon pink. It’s so important to have a good light source where you work and I love the big window I have by my desk. All my materials and supplies are neatly put away in white painted drawers. I’m a serious neat freak and I can’t stand loads of things out when I’m not working! Finally, I have my beloved David Hockney exhibition print for a daily dose of creative inspiration.
I've been painting fence panels today, not nearly as much fun as painting pictures. I bet the nations gardens have never been so tidy. What have you been doing?
