@ansleygeno was my first bride! (2ish years ago?) I met ansley in college and we were research partners in my last year of undergrad. The day she called and asked me I'd I could do her makeup for her wedding was so surreal. I had never done that before and was absolutely terrified if we are being completely honest. My favorite thing about her makeup was her love of blush. She LOVES blush. Like a lot. And also, her entire family is just fun to be around. I'd do her makeup over and over (which I actually have gotten to!) Thanks for trusting me and my crazy passion, Ansley! It means way more than you'll ever know!

There are so many reasons why DSCC has chosen to exclusively use DermLab for our biopsy and tissue processing for the last 9 years..
💫 They have an accurate, rapid turn around-which means you and your loved ones get biopsy results faster.
💫 DermLab uses experienced, Board-Certified Dermatopathologist who are able to process critical diagnoses such as melanomas and inform your Providers same-day.
💫 Not only is our personal Account Manager, Janet, absolutely wonderful and always available to answer our questions, but DermLab also designates a courier from Birmingham to pick up specimen/biopsies from our offices 5 days a week, Monday-Friday! Now that is customer service 👏🏻
We are proud partners of DermLab ✨
A special thanks to Janet for all you do for us!

Meet the Breakfast Crew! These ladies and gentlemen prep, cook, and serve breakfast every Tuesday. They served eggs, sausage, grits, biscuit, and gravy this morning. What a blessing they are to RIFA and everyone who received this meal in the Soup Kitchen! #volunteers#breakfastcrew#jacksontn
Is #transformationtuesday still a thing?? If not, can I share a photo from my own engagement session just because?? 😍
Josh and I spent some time randomly look through our engagement pictures this weekend and our guest book (we had them made into a book for our wedding guests to sign) and it was so fun to take a quick walk down memory lane! You know you made the right decision when years later you can look at your photos and feel just as smitten! 😍
This is my first MLK Day in Texas in six years. I reflect differently here, than in New York or Beirut. I love the South, and on days like today, I feel the ambivalence of love and hate towards our history and this place. More than that, I feel hope, fed by the legacy of prophetic leaders like Dr. King and the ability for hearts to soften. Another emotion pushes through, and that is discomfort. I now come into more frequent physical confrontation with the legacy of America’s sins and know that the story of repentance and reconciliation is not finished. I can’t say the full measure of what this asks of me, but I do know it is more than my nature is fully comfortable with. And that is a good thing. It is what Dr. King and others aimed to do.
I thought I would share some photos I’ve taken over the past several months that intersect with King’s life and the Civil Rights movement.

2. Homecoming pre-game (Selma, AL)
3. Jackson Central Merry High School (Jackson, TN) - My dad went to JCMHS in the 70’s. It used to be two schools, across the road from each other. One white. One black. After de-segregation, the city built a covered walk way to bridge the two schools when they merged into one integrated high school in 1970. Today, the school is predominantly black, as more and more white students move to private schools or newer schools on the edge of the city. #MLK#mlkday#Memphis#Selma#jacksontn
This week’s member spotlight is on Holly Roolf, a client of ours for almost 3 years. Holly is extremely dedicated, is a joy to have in class, and works extremely hard each hour that she’s here. We are excited to bring to you her story, and we hope you find it as motivating as we do! Thank you, @holly_roolf for letting us inspire others through your uplifting words! 🤍
Here’s what she says: “I have tried just about every type of exercise known to woman...kickboxing, Taekwondo, CrossFit, yoga, weightlifting, aerobics. Every one of these either bored me within a matter of months or left me with aches and pains that required constant chiropractic care and pain relievers every day. I got started with Pure Barre because a friend invited me to go with her. I was humbled and hooked once I attended a few classes with my friend. Now I'm headed into my third year of attending Pure Barre 3 to 5 times per week. It's a killer workout that's easy on the body and joints. Don't get me wrong...you will FEEL the workouts but your body recovers and strengthens. I am tighter, stronger, and more flexible sincer attending Pure Barre. Also, I can't say enough about the instructors. They are always tough, but encouraging."
I like to photograph doors (weird, I know), especially if they are unique or colorful or significant. I think there’s something to be said about paying attention to the doors we pass through, whether it’s just once or a million times.
I’ve walked through many doors in my life, found opportunity, solace, inspiration, grief. And what’s humbling to know is, everyone has. We all have similar experiences with doors, even if we don’t all stop to take pictures of them. I’ve been rolling this over in my mind, and I just wanted to share.
Ever since I was 12 I have LOVED houses. I would find the perfect house online for my family and create a whole big PowerPoint presentation for my parents on why we should move 😂 I am so thankful for a job that feels more like a passion and that I wake up ever single day so excited! I’ve had lots of people reach out to me lately about them considering getting into real estate, so if it’s something you’re on the fence about MESSAGE ME and let’s talk!! ✨🎉
I've been experimenting with a crazing/crackle technique for the past 3 years which I've finally got to a resolved point. These goblets were layered in a white and clear cone 6 glaze but fired to 02 instead of cone 6. The glazes are very immature at 02 but they do begin to gloss a bit and serve as a waxy resist. The immaturity and tension of the glazes results in a LOT of crazing. The clip here is dipping the goblet into black slip as the crazes suck up black slip like a sponge. The glossy surface repels the slip entirely. These will now be fired cone 6. Saving a few to try in our next soda firing on Friday. In case this video is stolen by a robot I'll go ahead and just drop this... World's Best Pottery Grampa tshirts are super dumb. Cheers.
