John 7:14 - Jesus is The Living Water. He is the only one that can satisfy us. The Samaritan woman thought that Jacob’s well would always satisfy her thirst. She even questioned Jesus when He said He was The Living Water. She told him that how can The Living Water be better than the water of Jacob. Jacob’s well is a representation of the things of this world. Every time this woman came to the well to get water, she was satisfied for a moment then became thirsty again. This is how we are when it comes to materialistic things. We can keep piling up cars, houses, shoes, clothes, bags, belts, and many more. Ask yourself today, when you get these things are you really satisfied? When you keep going to the well of relationships repeatedly, are you ever satisfied? The answer for all of us should be no. This whole world will never do and it shows. Those who are very wealthy still suffer from dissatisfaction. They feel like they have everything, but in fact, they have nothing. Why not come to The Living Water so that your soul can be quenched and never thirst again? It is only through Jesus that we will not long for the things of this world. We will only long for His will to be done. To drink of His goodness. To drink of His kindness. And to drink of His faithfulness ever sure. You will feel so refreshed once you’ve been quenched. The well of the world doesn’t distract you when you have The Living Water. You will no longer seek that well because there is no pleasure or satisfaction in it. Allow God’s Living Water to flow over your soul. Let His Holy Spirit come and take control. Of every situation that may trouble your mind. Give all your cares and burdens onto Him. You will not regret drinking this Water. Your life will be fresh and bubbling because of the eternal life that is destined for you!

YOUR GUIDE TO VISITING JACOB’S WELL, A STUNNING NATURAL WONDER IN THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
Jacob’s Well has been on our bucket list ever since we saw photos on Google Images. The natural karstic (or inverted) spring is located in Wimberely, Texas, a small Hill Country town 45 minutes outside of Austin. And is a popular swimming spot when the weather is hot, and also a popular diving spot - the well is more than a mile deep!
Some can free dive up to 100 feet below, while experienced divers can go much further to explore the caves below. But given that it’s known as one of the most dangerous diving spots in the world, you have to be licensed to explore. So for the most of us, we can enjoy from above ground or in the water surrounding it, with the occasional dive off the rocks that sit directly above the well.
Currently, Jacob’s Well is closed and will reopen on June 1, but those who live on the river can visit still. One of us did visit the Well as we did not do our research in advance. We had never been so close, staying on Canyon Lake for the weekend, so excitedly drove over to check it out, without looking at Google first. When we discovered it was closed, we met some locals who directed us up a riverbed to see it.
We took our photos, dipped our feet in the 68 degree water and left. We look forward to when we will be in the area again and can go back in the fullest extent. What that looks like? If you’re looking to wander the area and see the well, you don’t need a reservation.
If you want to swim, reservations reopen May 28, with bookings starting June 1. They will be limiting the number of people and each reservation allows up to two hours of swimming.
So is it worth it?! If you’re in the area. From Dallas, it’s a three and a half hour drive, and the drive is not worth a photo at the Well alone. It is pretty small. Even the locals were laughing with us about how tourists arrive to say, “That’s it?!”
But that doesn’t meant it isn’t stunning, and a beautiful spot to swim! And there’s so much to explore in the Hill Country too. So if looking for a socially distanced summer adventure through our Hill Country, Jacob’s Well is a great stop!
I fucking hate heights okay.
I was FINALLY able to get a reservation and go to Jacob’s Well over the weekend and it was so much fun🙌🏼 Definitely recommend if you’re looking to be outside and want to jump into a hole in the ground😂
