Our little ones are on a journey to creative learning. From field trips to festival celebrations and colorful days to unique experimental curriculum. We at Seedling Nursery School Jaipur, are on a mission to make learning fun.
Where do the locals go? Where do the locals eat? What do the locals do on the weekends? How do I get the local experience?
On most nights in Jaipur, we left our hotel between nap time and dinner and walked the promenade running along the western bank of Sagar Lake. While the view of the Jal Mahal never disappointed, it was the local life that peaked our interest. At this time, the street vendors were in full force, selling everything from cooking wear to backpacks and children’s toys to food. We saw young couples walking hand-in-hand along the river, just happy for some time to themselves. We saw men fishing in the lake, more for the peacefulness of the activity, and less for the actual outcome. All people enjoyed the cool breeze coming off the lake, as a relief from the desert climate.
This was a small piece of local life. An experience we enjoyed just as much as the Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, or Jaipur Palace.
The only interruption was a small, blond-haired, blue-eyed boy, who caught the attention of almost everyone he passed. Selfies were plentiful, and “the lion” loved the attention. Adjusting to non-Indian life is going to be hard for him!
