Jesus talks about the seed that falls on shallow ground. It springs up quickly but withers because it has no root (13:6). Later on, he will explain that the person who has no roots lasts only a short time because they fall away when trouble or persecution come (v.21). Your spiritual roots are the parts of your life that no one else sees – your secret life with God. This includes your prayers, your giving and your thought life. If you want to fulfil your potential make sure you develop deep, strong and healthy roots in your relationship with God.
This portable blender. It doesn’t work as advertised. It seemed like such a handy gadget to purchase. Expectations were high, but alas, those expectations were slashed to bits when trying out the product. It was a major fail.
Do you ever experience conversations like that? You go into a discussion having high expectations, thinking it will be productive, enjoyable and perhaps even useful, and then the conversation fails miserably when you voice (or don’t voice) an opinion that differs from those around you. Major fail. Or is it?
In our newest episode we discuss differences of opinion and how scary it can be to voice one's opposing viewpoint.

To have the knowledge of someone, of something is to know facts about them or experience them. We study them continuously, communicate with them...we listen well and respond (well) and that’s what we should do with God. ... Our relationship with God is a two way thing but he already knows us (Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 71:6 and so many more verses explain this to us. •
Why do we need to know Him?
We need to know Him. The more we learn of Him (who He is, His promises and works), trust Him, the more we grow and ultimately become more like Jesus. It’s inevitable that you become like those you spend time with. Personally, the more I learn of Him, the more I become content with Him.
Prayer is important. But today I’ll focus on the Word. What is it? It’s a manual (Joshua 1:8). it’s a tool for self assessment (Hebrew 4:12), it encourages us and gives us hope (Romans 15:4). The Word the light and guides us (Psalm 119:106), it’s a seed (Luke 8:11). All seeds contain life and as long as our hearts are renewed and of good soil, once planted it’ll produce fruits....it’s our daily bread (Luke 4:4 NKJV)...it helps us not sin (Psalm 119:11, 1st John 2:1-6). Through His word, we learn of His faithfulness, His promises, and even how to pray (see the Lords Prayer.) •
The only way we can call ourselves His...is by loving Him, studying His words and ways and adopting adopting them. But these verbs are continuous. It’s not something we stop doing but must actively do daily. and it’s not a chore when it comes from the heart.
What does Jesus’ fight for justice mean when we face war nationally and in our lives? When the nation of Judah faced war, God allowed them to be defeated physically, but gave them the promise of eternal life and true justice through the Servant of the Lord, Jesus. This world is broken, and war torn, both in terms of its nations and even more seriously in terms of spiritual warfare. You face the temptation to want God to fight on a national and personal scale your way, but he fights according to his justice. God has freed you from your sins and death. Eternal life is yours. Trust in the work and promises of Jesus when your life is threatened in any way. Use Jesus in your relationships to forgive and set free, to release others from the captivity and darkness of sin with the forgiveness won by Jesus at the cross. What a joy to know that in all circumstances the Servant of the Lord will bring justice to the nations and to you! Read more at our blog:
