Little miss floof impressed me this morning. 😍 First time trying this out. Seems our training is working! 🎉 At 6 months, I do not expect any obedience to be perfect, and training should be developmentally appropriate and set up for success. All I want is for Rogue to be focused on me and want to engage and work for me, because our relationship is everything. And the best way to build that relationship is through training. #willworkforfood#dogtraining#highdrivedog#k9crazy#dutchie#puppylife
Rogue LOVES the snow! Especially dive bombing into deep snow to dig for her ball and then drop it again in deeper snow so she can dig more. And yes, I have to use my high pitched voice for her ridiculous nicknames. Note: balls were lost in the making of this video. #snowdog#snowface#floofy#ballcrazy#k9crazy#dutchie#puppylife
When it’s -51 outside it’s too cold to play outdoors so we make the best of playing inside. He doesn’t seem to mind 🤷🏼♀️🐶🥶

Malinois are so very misunderstood. I am not a professional dog trainer, nor do I have that much experience with the various temperaments within the breed. I own 2, fostered 1. From my equine experience, they’re extremely similar to a hot horse. Quick to react on instincts, but amazing work ethic, with the willingness to partner with a human. So, like horses, I do a lot of training and reinforce behaviors I want and channel those quick reactions for good.
Syrah continues to amaze people that meet her that she has amazing impulse control. I received feedback that she’s not like most Malinois. I don’t counter a response, due to time, but SHE IS like most Malinois, except the good ones are trained. She wasn’t born with any control of her impulses, it’s all because she’s been trained and rewarded. In the 3rd video, she did make a mistake and lunged for the moving ball, before I told her “yessss!” The reason I am always working on impulse control for food, prey drive, hunt, etc. with her.
There are most definitely poorly bred Malinois that are “nerve bags” and only so much one can do with training and strictly managing their environments, but training does help set expectations for the dog for what’s acceptable behavior.
Aunties Sara and Jess will be proud of Lexi girl when they watch this vid. I put the pack into a down with the exception of Lexi. She doesn't have the stability yet for this particular training so I put her into a sit (I try to avoid setting them up for failure). I walked to my truck (about 50 yards away), opened and closed my doors a few times then walked back. Not a single sound from Lexi and she maintained her sit perfectly. As I got within 15 or so I gave her a duration marker then out her into a down. I was very proud of her. This was a huge success for her!! #Malinois#maligator#belgianmalinois#belgianshepherd#dutchshepherd#dutchie#workingdog#k9crazy
