The Christmas spirit has really entered our house.
Excitement is an under statement to explain it.
The fairy lights are still my favorite christmas detail. They give that little magic christmas need!
What is your favorite christmas decoration?? 🎇 🎄 🎅🤶

What if one partner isn’t ready to transform your life together? Then what 😮 😲!?! I (David) am the partner who has always been... the late adopter.
Years ago, Okeoma took a huge step on her journey when she read “The Happiness Project.” She began consuming personal development content at a rapid clip, getting her first coach soon thereafter.
I resisted her attempts to share books, get me to think more deeply about what I wanted to do in life and share those thoughts, or even go to yoga regularly.
It seriously got in the way of us getting aligned about a future vision, primarily because I had no clarity about myself or what I wanted, so I was not prepared to participate.
We got lucky; We took an amazing trip across Southeast Asia that was eye opening for both of us, and a big leap forward for me in realizing that I wasn’t living a life I wanted (and shocker, wanted something more like that vacation life😉). Plus we wanted kids.
This was the moment when we saw how to change things as a couple, and yes, help me get to a different place so we could start working together, in alignment.
We began having conversations in a different way - freer from the weight of expectation and commitment and more aligned with thinking about what a dream life could be. We also created space for me to do the introspection necessary to contribute meaningfully to the conversations.
When one of us wasn’t ready to talk and think about what truly inspired us (me), we found the loves we shared -travel and family- and used those as a jumping off point to start speaking and thinking differently, focusing on what felt good and exciting before thinking about the logistics.
How many of you are in couples where one person isn’t interested in personal development, or doesn’t believe in getting help, or just doesn’t “get” the idea of visualizing dreams and sharing them? You can’t force it, because they do have to come to it on their own, but if they’re committed to building a life together, maybe this approach will help them take the next step.
Disappearing underground at the Cu Chi tunnels.
There are over 120km of underground tunnels which were used by the Viet Cong during the American war.
Not only were the tunnels used as hiding places but they also served as supply routes, storage areas, medical centres and living quarters. During heavy bombing people were forced to stay underground for serval days at a time. .
Luke didn’t fit down this tiny tunnel on this pic but was able to squeeze through other tunnels and we even made it down to level 2 of 3 where there were bats hanging out. .
See my stories for more. .
When booking this tour make you specify you want to visit the original Cu Chi Ben Duoc tunnels as they have built another one for tourists which is not the original!! .
We spent an average of less than $150/night (Australian) during our holiday in Italy 🇮🇹For the same money, we can’t even afford a 3 nights stay at a Tokyo Disneyland hotel. Or we could only spend about 5 nights in a standard 4 stars Singapore hotel.
It is a no brainer why we chose to go for 13 days exploring Italy Full post link via our profile

Busy at the beach building sand castles and his own Panama canal.
Maxi genießt die Zeit am Strand und buddelt jeden Tag stundenlang. Er ist ein richtiges Draußen-Kind und liebt es Sachen zu bauen. So schön seine Begeisterung zu erleben und Zeit füreinander zu haben. #panamazing#dayatthebeach#littletraveler
2 things I’ve learnt after 2 days in Australia.
1. Jet lag is no joke. I have been awake from circa 12.30am to 5/6am both nights and the kids like to get up around the 3/4 mark. So that’s fun. I don’t recall having jet lag this bad the last time - perhaps it’s an age thing 😕. 2. The sun is strong. It was a pleasant 24 degrees today (it’s set to be 40 in the week) and we even had some cloud around this morning but yet we all have some very interesting red patches and yes we used sun cream. The proper factor stuff not the oily crap I shamefully like to use in Europe. The sun ain’t no joke either.
But in better news we ended up on Scarborough beach this evening watching a Christmas concert in the sun at 6pm. It was amazing. I have no problem being as festive as they come on the beach 👌.

Perfect morning : a cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows and a warm cinnamon bun in a cosy seaside cafe with crazy bear hugs from an excited little boy 🏠
Four hours down, two hours to go until the longest flight ✈️ luckily for us, this little guy is perfectly content finding and sitting on all the ledges that are just his size 😂🤷🏼♀️

Little people love exploring the world through movement.
They have a natural inquisitiveness. Here my daughter was putting down weight plates in a growing stack to see how high she could jump.
By increasing them gradually it’s a great way to build confidence to jump higher.
No cushion in the shoes required, the body knows it has a job to do. It will first compress, then explode in the jump and finally compress to absorb the impact. Amazing.
This is the weekend that Christmas becomes official for me. I try to start earlier by putting the tree up and buying presents. But as soon as I get back from my December conference, I feel like I can finally GET FESTIVE.
Today we're doing the big Christmas snack shop - cheese board, Quality Street, Twiglets, the works. And we're meeting up with some mum/dad friends for a festive playdate. Oh and we're going to drive home via one of those streets where the inhabitants have gone all out on Christmas lights.
A quintessential to-do over here — soaking in the festive fun by visiting a Christmas Tree Farm! This Christmas is special for us because Gwen’s mobile and active as a young toddler with longer wake times so we get to do lots of festive activities together.
The smell of fresh Christmas trees is beautiful.. just beautiful. Walking through rows of lush dense trees is a real treat. I won’t be seeing Christmas the same way again, it’s so much more than just feasts and presents.
Love it when classrooms have no walls. Gwen explored the vast grounds, seeing all things nature, touching leaves twigs and rocks, smelling the fragrance of fir trees... I think the Christmas tree farm visit made for a nice sensorial experience.

And the celebration continues...
Tonight we 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 with our dear friends! Thanks @essentialoillifewithstephanie for making her feel so special...

Wild Saturday night y’all! Too much coffee too late. Working on handstands because why not, watching the great British baking show and looking through photos. This one tugs at my heart. It’s not always fun lugging two kids and gear around but this is what motherhood looks like right now and I wouldn’t change it for the world. @heathermaefloyd thanks for capturing something ordinary in my life and reminding me its lovely.
Our Elodie is 8 today and she celebrated by having 7 friends sleep over. I think my exact words to Andy to follow were “Never, ever, ever, EVER, ever, ever, EVER are we doing that again...EVER. #Isodontgotthis#neveragain 🤯
Happy Day, sweet girl, you are so loved. 💗

Happy second birth day to this adventure baby. 🎂
Skadi, you are curious, giving, loving, inquisitive, adventurous, headstrong, resilient, confident, playful, happy, easy to laugh, and sometimes a pain in the ass.
I wouldn’t want you any other way.
We are loving our time at Green Climber's Camp in Laos so much that we cancelled our trip to Myanmar. We will be staying here another 2 weeks soaking in the fresh air, beautiful views, friendly people, and the amazing climbs. No internet has been a good detox as well.
Have you ever walked on lava?
We did a hike through the Kilauea Iki Crater on the big Island of Hawai'i month before the big eruption last year. We enjoyed this hike so much as you walk up on the rim first and have great views down before descending and crossing through the crater. And a few month later the vulcano next to it errupted. It is such a strange feeling to imagine a place you loved visiting transforming into a danger zone. The trail is back open and it seems like it wasn't effected. Have you experienced something similar? A place that you remember as peacful and beautiful being all over the news with horrific pictures? Another reminder to seize the day. 💚 #carpediem .
We definitely love giving our little girl lots of love

Camping and wine? Heck yes!
Harvest host night number 2. We went to Kiona winery and had delicious wine looking out over very beautiful vineyards. After the tasting room closed we were able to set up our trailer for the night and continue checking out the sunset views!! .
Originally we planned to visit Nepal together with India in 2012, but we didn’t have enough time to cover both countries. Following the birth of our son and earthquake, the trip got delayed further..well into 2017
Nepal may not be the first obvious destination you think of when planning a family holiday. But guess what? We had such a blast with our then 2 year old boy
Nepal is not just for the mountain climbers and trekkers. People of all ages can enjoy what this beautiful country has to offer. From the boat rides in Pokhara, to listening to the chanting of monks at one of the Buddhist Stupas, to taking a morning flight to see Annapurna and Mount Everest. There’s something for everyone in Nepal 🇳🇵 Full Post: https://www.letsgobeartravels.com/nepal-fifth-family-travel-destination/

Rebel Grey spent her first year of life in mostly warm weather on the Oregon coast. This is her first official winter and I think she’s in love!
Now all we got to do is get this kid on some skis. ⛷
@farmmumlife was talking about routines this week. I'm one of those Mums who is lax on routine prefering to go-with-the-flo. I think this is part-in-parcel of being in a co-parenting situation. However, in saying that, there's a couple of things we do routinely everyday. No matter where we are, we read at least 4 stories a day, normally before bed. As a Mum, I'm constantly looking for new ideas so I thought I'd share some of our favourites. . . .
Please tell me your favourites too?!?
. . .
Blong the Cat - based on New Zealand Author's cat Blong who she adopted in Vanuatu. The name Blong means 'to belong' 💛
Amy's Dreaming Adventures - this has been on daily repeat since we got it. Thanks @chrissymetge 🧜♀️
Kiwicorn - a must for every Kiwi kid. It's so gorgeous 🌈
Macca the Alpaca - I think we have every one (mainly because they make me reminisce my Central and South American adventures - loved teaching Ariella what a Sloth was) Seriously, they're a joy to read.
The Dinky Donkey - beloved Wonky Donkey had a child and it's a girl! #notsponsored

Our last climbing lesson from this chap. I initially signed up to for this to prove to myself that fear didn’t have to rule every area of my life. I ended up really loving it and wanting to do it more. I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again. I will likely forever be a beginner and I’m totally okay with that, I can still learn more, improve on my skills without any expectations besides having fun. I learned something, worked past some fear and laughed a ton in the process @hdgray87 thanks for being the best partner in this. ❤️

Ahh, Friday...you’re finally here.😅 Even though we’re self employed, Chris and I still deliriously high five each other at the end of a crazy week. Yeah, we’ll probably put our welding helmets back on tomorrow and grind through the weekend to keep caught up on projects, but these 2 sweet kiddos (and adorable brown beast) keep our spirits high, make us laugh and keep us dreaming up our next family adventure time together. Cheers!🌲❤️. #hoodriver#mthoodoregon#kidswhoexplore#chocolatelab#hoodriveroregon#camping#scoutingforclimbs

Remember when Clark was attacked by the squirrel in A Christmas Vacation? Well, the same thing pretty much happened to us. Except it wasn’t a squirrel but a bug. And it didn’t actually attack us. But, it was huge and I’m praying there aren’t babies.

We lived in San Francisco for a year when I was about Prairie’s age. My mom tells me she was really excited to spend that year on the beach, but every time she took me I would get scared of the waves and just cry & cling to her leg the whole time. And um, let’s just say Prairie is returning the favor. We definitely do better with bathtub type of beaches, but still this spot (Palmas) was still pretty special, from the saguaro dotting the cliffs along the trail in, to the wild horses napping in the sand.
