Today is #WorldKindnessDay — what are you doing to create a kinder world for animals? 💚
What better day than #WorldKindnessDay to bring you the news about a new initiative we have to spread kindness to animals throughout Afghanistan!
We now have an ‘Animal Heroes Afghanistan’ scheme where we identify Afghans who go above and beyond to help animals in distress.
Two remarkable young men have already received the accolade and here’s why:
First photo is Ahmad. Who found a dog in extreme pain by the side of the road late at night, after being hit by a car.
He contacted Nowzad immediately as he was distressed to see the dog in such a way.
Our Veterinary team raced over as soon as we could, getting to the area at midnight.
Ahmad stayed the whole time to comfort the dog.
Sadly, the dog never made it as his injuries were too severe.
When we thanked Ahmad, he simply said “it is humanity”
But thanks to Ahmad, the dog left this earth peacefully and painlessly, knowing kindness and comfort.
The second photo is Bahman, a long term friend of Nowzad who originally found Mac and thanks to him Mac is now living the good life in the UK!
Bahman has alerted us to at least four dogs in distress now and upon us picking up and treating the last dog he sent us this:
“Wow... This is so good. It is so heartwarming to think the dog have shelter, food and good care tonight.
Thank you so much and it is always good to be a part of something that brings peace and kindness towards these animals.”
We have issued these young men certificates of commendation for their dedicated efforts in improving the lives of animals in Afghanistan. Locals like this are changing Afghanistan for the better and it is our hope that this is just the start of a more compassionate Afghanistan for all.
Islam teaches us that the creatures of the earth are from the signs of God, by which we can recognize His Greatness. They are all here for a specific purpose which God has ordained for them. From the tiniest ant to the largest Blue Whale, each animal on this earth provides a service by which life carries on uninterrupted. As Muslims, we see these creatures as an opportunity to reflect and ponder about the perfect artistry of Allaah. An example are the birds in the sky as Allaah says: “Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading out their wings and folding them in? None upholds them except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is the All-Seer of everything.” [Surah al-Mulk (67):19]
Once the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) was on a journey with his companions. Some of his companions saw a nest with a bird and its two chicks. They took the chicks from the nest which made the bird swivel around in anxiety. When the Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) saw this he said:
“Who has caused distress to her regarding her children? Return her children to her”. The Prophet (Sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) also said:
“Allaah forgave a prostitute who tied her shoe to her scarf and drew out some water (from a well) for a dog which she saw dying of thirst…..” #kindnesstoanimals #loveanimals#cats #catlife #savecats
Guess what we found at the park? 🐈 The poor kitty was so skinny and hungry that we went home and got him some food. He had to be someone’s pet because he is just the sweetest and most affectionate little guy. We are bringing the carrier tomorrow to see if we can grab him to take him to see if he has a microchip. .

Such a lovely group of like minded souls in this mornings class which was dedicated to all animals. ♥️🐴🐾♥️
It was a very special class and a huge thank you for your kind donations which will be sent to Calan Horse Sanctuary. We raised $180.!!
A kind, mindful alternative to the Cup.♥️♥️
Tomorrow is when The Melbourne Cup is held. An annual 3200m thoroughbred horse race that started in 1861. It is a known fact that horses die on the track, are mistreated off field and at the races, and ‘retired’ horses or ones that don’t make the racing circuit, due to age, speed, injury etc, are then sent to abbatoirs and knackeries to be slaughtered for pet and human consumption! With more people becoming aware of this horrific industry that also includes gambling and alcohol, it’s time to rethink our ‘traditions’ and say “Nup to the Cup”!
I have some wonderful news!
Since February, I have been working tirelessly to publish a children’s book called “Oliver: The True Story of a Pup with Three Legs and a Heart of Gold”. Writing, drafting, editing, finding an talented professional illustrator and working with her to bring this story to life has been such a long process. Now, I’m thrilled to announce that the book was published last week, and has just been picked up by Barnes & Noble online, Amazon, and a number of other online retailers. It is now available to purchase online and the link is in my bio!
This short but sweet children’s book is a true story about a three-legged dog named Oliver (pictured) who struggled as a stray puppy before being rescued and adopted by a wonderful family. It’s easy to read and appropriate for children of all ages. The illustrations are vibrant and beautiful. My hope is that reading Oliver’s story will inspire young children to want to adopt their animals from shelters and rescue groups rather than purchasing them from breeders or pet stores. Additionally, for every book sold, I will donate $1 to @muttsinneed dog rescue, the organization that saved Oliver’s life! If this venture is successful, I have a whole line of story ideas about animals I’ve met or rescued who could serve as ambassadors for a variety of animal welfare issues (I’m thinking wildlife, exotic animals, companion animals, farmed animals and more)!
Click the link in my bio to purchase now! I’ll be leaving links in my story to several platforms on which you can buy the book. Thanks! 🐶🐱🐰
We were on our way back from seeing the sun temple at Konark, Odisha, on the first clear day after three days of torrential rain. The roads were wet and the trees were tossed aside by the fury of the rain. We were clipping along at 80kmph listening to bad Hindi songs when the driver abruptly stopped and jumped out of the cab. He came back with what looked like a shiny black pebble. It was a small turtle washed onto the road by the rain. What are you going to do with it? We asked him. He said he would take it home, feed it and then release it safely. The turtle was another form of God and it was his duty to save him. The turtle after a while felt safe and stretched its long neck and limbs out. A little ahead, the driver' s sharp eyes spotted another one. He sprang out again. This one had it's belly oozing red. He could not make it. We went home feeling the presence of God.
This place is wonderful! You are given the opportunity to pet, brush, hold and hug the animals. 🥰😍 *********************👇🏼From their site:
The Gentle Barn rescues animals from severe abuse and neglect who are too old, sick, lame, or scared to be adopted into homes. We are sanctuary to horses, donkeys, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, turkeys, chickens, llamas, peacocks, emus, cats and dogs. Once rehabilitated, the animals help us give hope and inspiration to children with the same stories.
#Veteran and #Teacher owned, we at Wildfire Body Accents strive to source unique silver jewerly while making sure a portion of all sales go directly towards benefitting #rescueanimals and #wildlife .

Sign the petition at the link in our profile to demand justice for this starved puppy whose caretaker threw her from a car window and sped off, leaving her behind. No animal deserves to suffer this kind of abuse. #linkinbio 👆

A German lab is under fire after graphic undercover footage showed technicians torturing monkeys, dogs, and cats in the name of “science.” They used metal prongs to pick up the monkeys by their necks and lock them in metal restraints like this one to endure toxicity testing. Legal action has been taken against the lab and an investigation is ongoing as animal activists call for the lab’s shutdown.

Six-year-old Kindness Crusader Oscar Payne was very upset when he saw a television PSA from the @official_rspca. His mum recalls that it was "the first time he ever realised that people could treat pets and animals badly, and that shocked him." Oscar's first impulse was to suggest his family adopt more pets or donate money to the RSPCA to help. He was even willing to give ten pounds from his own birthday money and his mother was going to match it. But then he had another idea. Last year, Oscar wrote a book. So he decided to write another book and sell it to benefit the animals.
His new book is called 'The Old Man and His Pets' and he is selling it for £1 with all proceeds going to the RSPCA. So far he has sold 20 copies through his mum's posts on Facebook. She says, "He is waiting by the door, and every day he asks if someone else has bought one yet." He and his brother have been so excited every time someone comes to the door to collect their copy.
