Since we’re waiting for one final finishing touch on the kitchen before I show it to anyone, here’s a sneak peek of the colour scheme. I fell in love with the @morphyrichardsuk kettle and toaster so decided to get everything to match them 🖤🧡
This is a high gloss acrylic kitchen with the handless finish. This was a beautiful layout that was enhanced with careful color coordination. The cappuccino color is balanced out with the white. The glass shutters are used to reflect the brown in the cappuccino color and add a decorative factor.

If you saw my stories, you’ll know that I had a day of exciting meetings yesterday about writing and styling, but also about my project @furnishingfutures, which will fully furnish the homes of families experiencing furniture poverty. I plan to reuse and repurpose unwanted furniture to give to families who don’t have any as well as developing brand partnerships who will donate. The idea is that the families who have no beds for their kids, no flooring, no curtains or sofas will get everything they need so that they are lifted out of despair and deprivation and given back their dignity and we will prevent more beautiful items going into landfill. I’m working at a grassroots local level but I hope to grow this as a model to roll out nationally. There’s so much to do to set something like this up and running, it’s overwhelming sometimes, but at the same time I just want to get started on a pilot project to see how it will work in practice. After spending yesterday having lovely interiors meetings (it’s also London Design Festival this week!) and planning the project (see my stories for another amazing interiors social enterprise I visited), I’m off to my social work job today where I chair multi agency child protection meetings. What a strange life I’m leading at the moment, but I feel it all makes sense and is leading me to something really worthwhile. Anyway here I am dressed like my home and ready to take on the world!

Im currently in the process of designing our outdoor entertaining/bbq area and am looking back at our Kitchen Renovation for some inspiration. It's been a while since I've had to consider cabinetry design, colours, finishes and hardware. Let's be real, we all know I'll be choosing white 😅 Our theme is Hamptons, I have always been so obsessed with this design style and am so happy with how our home really reflects this with it's elegant yet cool and welcoming elements.
Fun fact- I completed a Diploma of Interior Design years before my Nursing Degree... has it helped in this process? Only a little 🤷🏼♀️ Will I do anything with it in future? Probably not 😅
Swipe for our before pictures 😬 crazy right?! #kitchen#kitchenrenovation#hamptonsstyle#hamptonsdesign#renovation#whiteonwhite#design#interiordesign#mirzaandgensblock
I’d have another 😬😂 Mike keeps playing the “I’m old” and “I’d like to retire before I die” cards 🙄 Growing up I always said I wanted four kids... then I had kids 😳 and said two was good enough 😆 then Vivi was the BEST bonus baby ever and now in the thick of quite possibly the busiest season of my life I feel like I could totally throw another baby beast into the mix and be cool. I mean, we’d never leave the house but I’m a homebody now, so that’s fine. 🤷🏼♀️ Who needs sunlight? Not I. I’d just be a stay at home mom who has the skin tone of printing paper, who never leaves the house, posts on Instagram and has conversations with herself all day. I’m not even kidding about the conversations- I never knew that I did this until I started being mic’d for the show I’m filming. I talk to myself non-stop and the audio guy and producer can hear the conversation and it’s pretty embarrassing and I may be mentally unstable but that’s an entirely different post in itself 🤗 Actually, NO. Let’s discuss this- do you talk to yourself?! Like, a full blown 2-3 person conversation?! IS THIS THE “MOTHER’S ILLNESS”?! 🧐 Please tell me I’m not alone. *I mean, even if I am alone in this, it’s cool. I’ll just talk to myself. Totes comfortable with it. 👍🏼 This post took a crazy turn. 😂 #typical .

Progress shots for the win! Are you on board with drip ledges? I’ve been seeing them a lot lately and felt it was the perfect complement to this star of a sink by @Kohler. This came together in just a couple of hours thanks to my dad being in town!! 🙏I can’t wait to show you all the fun details that are making this kitchen come alive. So tell me... team drip ledge or no drip ledge? #greenkitchen#farmhousesink#dripledge#diykitchen

Slight updates to modernize the home are a great way to get your return on investment. Sometimes the best strategy to find your next flip is to look for homes that are around 20 years old. You'll be able to give them a great update and hopefully make some money in the process.
Our borrowers purchased this #LosAngeles home for $950K and sold it for $1.57MM.
What do you think about looking for homes that are 20 years old or older? Do you look for a home to be a certain age when you're looking for your next flip? Let me know in the comments.
