Here is a driving etiquette reminder to keep you safe on the road. While highways come with no traffic lights, pedestrians or intersections, higher speeds bring with it a new set of challenges.
This is why it’s important to practice the 3-second rule when driving on highways. Essentially, one should pick a focal point that is parallel to the car in front of you, such as a building or road sign. You then count the seconds it takes you to arrive at that same road point.
Also keep in mind that with wet or slick roads, this becomes an 8-10 second rule to account for lack of visibility and unsafe road conditions.
We hope this tip keeps you safe out there on the roads and remember that ALOHA is always the answer when behind the wheel! Have a great week friends!
This driver went from zero to “over it” in no time! If parallel parking is not your forte, and you find yourself in a similar situation, here’s some advice:
2. Align your vehicle next to the neighboring car
3. Turn your wheel ALL THE WAY to the right
4. Realize it’s not worth it!!!!
5. Park somewhere else
We appreciate the opportunities we have every day to help those who find themselves in a less than pleasant situation. We try everything in our power to shoulder some of the burden of our customers and want to send a big mahalo to our customers for putting their trust in us. Happy Aloha Friday!
Hawaii is expecting off-season summer thunderstorms for the next few days and we’re definitely not complaining. A short break from the sweltering summer heat is a nice change of pace but remember that heavy rains can mean dangerous road conditions. So please be considerate of your fellow drivers, slow down (but don’t hinder traffic) and #drivewithaloha 🤙🏾 Wishing you all a safe and hopefully cooler week out there! Aloha
There are two people in this world, the ones who see this sign and slow down and the ones who step on the gas and brace for impact ‼️ At KW auto body, we suggest that you proceed with caution but if fast and furious is more your speed, we’ll be waiting to hear from you 😂. Drive safe out there Hawaii and have a great weekend!

Tires are a critical element of your car’s overall safety. Worn or damaged tires compromise your vehicle. You should check your tires frequently to ensure that the tread is not worn down. A quick and easy way to check this is by using the penny test. Here’s how it works: Grab a penny and hold it on your tire between the treads with Abraham Lincoln’s head pointing down toward the tire. If the top of Lincoln’s head is visible, your tires are worn down and it’s time to start shopping.

Research shows that using a hand-held or hands-free mobile phone while driving is a significant distraction, and increases the risk of crashing your car. Hawaii’s Department of Health reported that at least 10% of Hawaii’s fatal vehicle accidents were caused by distracted drivers. In 2013, a new Hawaii law banned the use of handheld devices for drivers of all ages while operating a vehicle. An offense could cost you upwards 0f $200 (1st offense) $300 (2nd offense). Our recommendation - just don't do it! Put your phones away until you've safely reached your destination. The call or text is simply not worth the risk. Remember to drive safely, be considerate of others on the road and drive with aloha!

It's time for a KW Car Tip! A car engine combines air and gasoline in the combustion chamber to create power. This air reaches the engine through an air filter that works to keep out road debris, dirt, bugs, and other contaminants that can damage the engine. At the same time, the air filter must allow enough air to reach the engine so that it can perform effectively. Over time, the air filter can become dirty and clogged, and the lack of air can affect the overall performance of your car. Air filters should be replaced every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. For more car tips and general information be sure to follow our feed!
Did you know that the very first cars weren’t directed with a steering wheel, but rather with a tiller. It wasn’t until 1898 that steering wheels were introduced as a standard feature in some cars, but once they were introduced, it was clear they were there to stay. By 1904, all Rambler models (one of the few mass-produced cars at the time) came with a steering wheel, and by 1914 the tiller had been all but eradicated. For more car facts, follow our feed!
