Day #i lost track: We went to #Aspendos , where gladiators used to fight for their lives. While the architecture is stunning, I couldn’t help but feel sad for all the lives lost. #Turkey 🇹🇷 #latinaswhotravel
We went to another ancient city in ruins to learn about how arches and damns were used to create these structures. Visit Turkey to hear more about it.
We needed up eating at this beautiful restaurant near the water and I got to see the sunset from a different point of view. This time, I saw the sun fall beneath a mountain range.

One of my favorite things to do after a long day, is to watch the sunset. @angiepagan and I decided to enjoy the #Izmir sunset with the locals but we added a lil Latinidad to our view 🤣💃🏻 What a beautiful scene! Some of our tour buddies joined us toward the end to watch the sun fall into the watery mountain background. Then, much to our surprise, we realized Izmir is like the NYC of #Turkey 🇹🇷 #Latinaswhotravel#sunset#Izmir

Day #3 in #Turkey 🇹🇷 was another packed day. We went to the ancient city of Troy (yes, it exists). It’s a city that’s been rebuilt about 9 times!
We then went to this tiny village where Abuela Ayesha prepared a homemade meal for us 😋 including baklava from scratch 😻. After lunch, we carried on to another town with more beautiful ruins where a concert hall used to be. #Turkey has such a rich and interesting history. I recommend traveling through @gate1travel for Turkey and if you’re lucky enough to get Çagdas as your tour guide, you’re in for a TREAT. #latinaswhotravel
Self-gratitude is a habit that you can replace self-judgement for.
When we experience challenges we are quick to judge ourselves.
😫Why is this happening to me?
😔I can’t handle it.
😟 I am not good enough to have this.
But when self-gratitude comes to mind we can remember all those times that we have gotten our own back.
✅ When we faced challenge with poise.
✅ When we made sacrifices for our future.
✅ When we compromised.
✅ When we did things for ourselves that we didn’t want to do but we’re the right move.
Think of all those things that you have done for yourself that have brought you where you are now! Feel that gratitude for your past self and let t fill you with courage and self-love.
While in Latvia, I had a great opportunity to spend 24 hours in the charming ancient town of Kuldīga. I personally loved my overnight stay there. Kuldīga is 1.5 hours away from the capital, Riga, and sometimes it's called the Venice of the North because the small River Alekšupīte runs through the center of Kuldīga’s old town. I truly enjoyed wandering it’s beautiful streets and admiring the local atmosphere.
P.S. I had one of the best breakfasts of my life in Kuldiga. So good that I would return anytime just for breakfast. Can you guess what I ate? A delicious porridge with fresh berries and ice cream on top, along with a glass of Prosecco. I know what you are thinking... meant ice cream and Prosecco for breakfast? Who wouldn’t want to visit?! I'm telling you, it's an amazing combo for breakfast.
Stay tuned for the full blog post so that you can plan your own visit. #witsriga#liveriga#magneticlatvia#latvia 🇱🇻 #latviatravel#latvia_online#igerslatvia#latvija#latvija 🇱🇻 #womenintravel#wits#wanderful#latinaswhotravel

View from my bed...😂😂 Living on the road isn’t very glamorous. There’s tons of photos floating on the inter webs where “van life” and “road life” are beautiful magical and wonderful alternative lifestyles 24/7. If I had more space, maybe it would be a little different story... but on the daily, even the smallest task can be really difficult. It’s easy to lose small things in this car, easy for it to look messy, tough to find a bathroom sometimes, and not the prettiest views when you’re parking lot surfing like I do most nights 😂😂. Also, just because the way I’m choosing to or am able to afford to do this lifestyle doesn’t look at pretty as those on the inter webs doesn’t make my travels any less! I still count as “vanlifer” and “road life.” It doesn’t matter what vehicle you choose to live and travel in or how it looks like! You are still putting yourself out on the road, to its world of uncertainties and getting through the challenges inward and out to be able to expose yourself to new surroundings, landscapes and communities!
My husband didn’t even respond and then just took off on a bike ride with Valentina. I’m pretty sure that if I even think of buying a single dish in the future, I’ll get kicked out of the family.
Kitchen remodel starts next week so I’ll be purging all weekend. And by purging I mean I’ll be ignoring everything Marie Kondo said. #WhatDoesSheKnow

This past weekend, I had the unique opportunity to not only attend the 1st annual Women in Travel Summit in Europe, which was held in the beautiful city of Riga in Latvia, but I also got to share my expertise by speaking to an amazing diverse group of women.
But for me, the highlight of the week was everything I learned from these inspiring women's stories and talks, in addition to connecting with them on a deeper sisterhood level. All of this while exploring Riga and other areas in Latvia. I couldn’t have asked for a better time. I’m super blessed!
I want to thank the founder of @sheswanderful and WITS, Beth Santos for creating such an amazing community and event. I was delighted to hear from her and her team about participating in this event. Shoutout to Ariel and Marissa for all of their hard work. Thank you for thinking of me! I can’t wait until we meet again.
Special gratitude for everyone who came to hear me speak this past weekend. You inspire me! ❤ #witsriga#wits#womenintravel#liveriga#magneticlatvia#latvia 🇱🇻 #latinaswhotravel#dreamsinheels#livingmydreamsinheels

Quick facts about me for those who have been asking/wondering [swipe right for signing version of this caption]:
*I am a first-generation Mexican. This means that my family moved to the USA from Mexico, and I was born there.
*My first language is Spanish and later learned English and SEE (Signed Exact English) & ASL (American Sign Language). However, I'm not very fluent in Spanish yet. Mostly in spoken Spanish than written/reading Spanish.
*I was raised orally AND had access to sign language. I never attend the Deaf institute. I was enrolled in the Deaf program and later mainstreamed.
*I use Sony Alpha A6500 camera for photography and videography, and I don't consider myself a professional.
*I travel on a budget, believe it or not, and I prefer to travel slowly when I have the chance to.
*I LOVE learning languages. Spanish, English, ASL, International Sign, Mandarin Chinese (basic/immediate). Currently learning Lengua de Señas Mexicana (LSM, also known as Mexican Sign Language) and hope to learn Hindi and Korean Sign Language.

Hanging out with the chollas.🌵 ⠀
We heard stories about these small, non-cuddly Teddy Bear Cholla Cactus (aka Jumping Chollas) and knew to keep our distance. However, while we were hiking the Hidden Valley Trail, we saw (well, first heard him screaming) a young boy with 3 of these cholla cactus balls stuck on his wrist! 😳 We offered his parents our medical kit (first time we had to use it!) and luckily they had tweezers to pull out the needles, but those little painful shits were not easy to remove. ⠀
So, this is just a friendly outdoors reminder to stay on the trail, carry a medical kit, and that chollas (and cholas) are cute but they’ll eff you up. Stay safe out there, folks.✌🏽

🇺🇸Mörby Centrum may look at first glance just another cute Stockholm station (also known as Marshmallow station) but the walls actually change color depending on where you stand on the platform. From one end of the room it appears white with a light shade of pink, and from the other white and grayish green. ⠀
The effect was done by first lighting the wall and painting its shadows from one side, and then from the other. The artists, Gösta Wessel and Karin Ek wanted to emphasize the changing landscape on a journey, not only on the platform itself but more importantly from the starting point to the destination.⠀
Like every trip has a different effect, depending on the destination, the people we meet along the way, and how open we are to experiencing the new.⠀
This trip to Sweden was full of unexpected and very special moments, it was almost like a key that changed my mind about some topics. Besides being full of lovely people that I will always keep in my heart and memories that will always make me smile. ⠀
When was the last time you felt like that?
After returning home, I didn't explore out much, even when I visited New York & Washington DC for a bit. I had travel burn out, and I forced my ass to get out of the house while visiting NYC to see The Vessel, a new attraction. After leaving the east coast, I felt a bit guilty for not trying to get out of the house.
But wait, how can one get tired of traveling? Trust me, I once thought that traveling is something to be exciting about but travel burnout is a real thing - most particularly if you are traveling for a while or experiencing a lot of stress. I later learned (and still am) to not be too ashamed about it. It is okay when you need time to rest. You are allowed to have the time to recover. 🙌🏼 Ignore my weird ass face - can’t pose for shit.
