The Most Dangerous Year - In 2016, the Washington State Legislature introdued 6 “bathroom” bills. See what happens when a community of embattled parents of trans children stand up for their civil rights. The filmmaker, @vladaknowlton, will join us for an important Q and A after the film.
The number one question we’ve received; what is the Makers Collective? We ourselves are small business owners and often struggle to find places to sell that fit our demographic or aesthetic. We want to offer an outdoor marketplace in the beautiful Tri-Cities weather that provides a place for contemporary makers to serve their customers face to face. If the junk show scene isn’t a fit for you, you can totally sit with us 🙌🏻
Sweet Beige (VR065C) from @valsparpaint pairs perfectly with warm wood tones. Contrasting shades of green and blue give a modern twist to this nostalgic shade. Use as a fun pop of color in small places.

I love the combination of flash and slow shutter to capture your beautiful face clearly AND the mood of the location. It is slightly technical but so worth it.
Double tap if you agree 😍

There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature—the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.” -Rachel Carson #pnwonderland#trail#optoutside

I never thought it possible to love someone more and more each passing day, after tough conversations, and the hills we’ve climbed.
As you can see my husband and I are an interracial couple. We grew up in two households that couldn’t have been more different and yet we choose love. Most days our differences create a healthy space for education. We still have moments where we don’t get each other, and then days where we couldn’t be more in sync with fulfilling each other’s needs. The hard work proves itself worth it with every new day.
With 2019 being one of the biggest years of change for me and what folks are referring to as being “woke”. Honestly, I was afraid my husband and I would grow apart. The conversations about Black injustice would be insurmountable. My ability to touch on privilege in every topic I’m given would become frustrating. For just a moment I forgot how good God is. Silly me.
We are a couple that has come to use respectful dialogue when speaking about the color of our skin. He is gentle while listening, and intelligent to challenge me in loving ways. He understands his privilege and knows my growth is not over yet. We are learning and growing together and I couldn’t be more happy.

I decided to break up my Greece posts with one of my favorite photos from Washington so that I had a good excuse to alert you on the fact that my Leavenworth blog post is LIVE, people!
I’ve compiled a list of 30 of the best things to do in (and around) Leavenworth, which I’m hoping will help convince you to visit this enchanting little Bavarian town that stole my heart! (Just do yourself a favor and book a weekend getaway there now—during any of the dates below—and thank me later.)
Click the link in my bio and save this post to discover where to stay, where to eat (& drink 🍺🍷) and what to do in this new favorite town of mine!
Try to plan your weekend getaway around their upcoming famous festivals:
🎄Christkindlmarkt (Thanksgiving Day Weekend): An annual Bavarian-style Christmas market held in downtown Leavenworth with authentic Bavarian foods, live music & Christmas-themed entertainment, hand-made arts & crafts, tons of shopping and activities for the whole family!
✨Village of Lights (comes alive every night from Thanksgiving through Valentine’s Day weekend) & The Christmas Lighting Festival (December 6-8, 13-15, 20-22): The village of Leavenworth is transformed into the ultimate winter-wonderland with a stunning display of over 500,000 Christmas lights (woah, baby) with live music, visits from Santa Claus and more fun activities for the whole family!
