Reposted from @eccentric_photographyy (@get_regrann) - Amidst the beautiful landscapes and valleys, Leh is also blessed with a traditional market which essentially captures the spirit of Ladakh region.
Day 2 we mostly visited local places.
Local =the two districts in Ladakh- Leh and Kargil. Hall of fame - Army memorial cum museum dedicated to war martyrs and the history of Ladakh region. .
I personally liked the first two rooms which were about Ladakh's history, inhabitants and culture. Ladakh is hugely influenced by Tibet. They were also ruled by Tibet until the Namgyal dynasty started ruling Ladakh. They also follow Tibetan Buddhism. But while most places will pass off Momos and thupkas as local food, Ladakhi food is very different and versatile. .
Western Ladakh is heavily influenced by Islam and Persian culture after the spread of Shia Islam. Dards/Drogpas mostly inhabited this region. Eastern Ladakh- Changpas who are ethnic Nomadic Tibetans. Skilled Horsemen who also rear the world famous pashmina sheep.
. *Interesting*- Polyandry was commonly practiced in Ladakh. So the eldest brother's wife is the wife of all brothers😄. Today apparently people rarely practice it.
The other rooms were about the army wars and presence in the region. It was very interactive. There was a piano. With every button we pressed, the respective area lit up.
Indo-Tibetan border police and Siachen Warriors are the most dominatingly present regiments/troops there. We saw how our soldiers live in extreme conditions in Siachen. They sleep in ice chambers.

This spot is on the fascinating journey between Lamayuru and Kargil. Thrilling, awesome, slightly fearful. Even the Gauls (remember Asterix and Obelix?) would have been adraid of the mountains falling on their heads. Do see the photo in landscape mode.
📎A stupid continuous urge to go #beyond the usual #roads often stages us in settings which goes much beyond our own #imagination ... Maybe that's why we #travel ; travel further and beyond, with the hope of a #surprise on the other side of the #horizon .... Or just loose #sand (quite possible) - but when did that stop us from taking the #trail running off the tarmac 😆
It's a matter of time.
That everything will be fine.
All you have to do is take a break.
From your usual routine life.
So that you can figure out that change is important.
Because as they say 'Change is the only constant'.
Everything will be changed one day for sure, even we all as a person, nothing is going to stay in your life for forever. Forever is just a myth, it is a temporary dream which will shatter someday, so expecting something or someone to stay forever is like holding a broken piece of glass which is going to hurt you only. So don't try to hold something which is not yours, accept today as it comes not with the burden of your expectations. Anotherwise you will be the only one who will be dragging it with all the pain in your heart. So, let it go, not because it hurts but you are mature enough to accept this change.

Breakups are beautiful sometimes.
All you need to do is just feel it the other way.. Sometimes you need to rewire yourself to sort your life, to figure out what you love the most, to figure out who you are without the person whom you used to think is special, to figure out that it is necessary to enjoy your precious alone moments, to give sometime to your old forgotten hobbies, to fall out of love with that person and fall in more love with your ownself.
I know it is painful to come out of this situation, but a strong person definitely knows how to use this pain as a weapon to stand strong. It is just upto you how you accept it.
Either you can go out, get drunk, call your ex and repeat this cycle.
Or you go out, work on yourself and figure out how beautifully you can survive even after a heart break. Because if you can come out of it strongly and happily then I guess you will be thankful to your ex for this breakup and you will never feel bad about it.
Always see the bigger perspective. 😊
