RSA Lockdown, Level 4, Day 31: The last day of Level 4! We took it super easy. It was such a lovely sunny day, that we had breakfast (avo on toast) and coffee on the balcony. It was so hot I needed a hat and sunglasses, but didn’t make a move to get either. I just basked in the uncomfortable joy of the sun beaming on me.
I had a shower and then had a good chat with @elzahnrinquest – it felt like the old days in high school, when you’d spend the whole day together at school and then get home and call each other. What could we have talked about for so long!
I had a fringe snip – sad before and content after pics added last.
I then was encouraged to continue my Lego building. It is so satisfying, I cannot tell you. So, we’ve decided to start a Lego Club. We want at least ten people to build this set (I am the 4th) then we can consider buying another set and so we can get the most joy out of a set of Lego. I really like this idea.
I was brought snacks while building, e.g. @grumpyandrunt cinnamon and sugar doughnut with a drop of coconut cream (5/5 would recommend).
I then had a chat with my @sophie.picton – it was her birthday this week and they got a couch potato dog! Surely this is the dream dog! All about the cuddles. I might be a dog.
I built a bit more until I put the big bits together and then we had so many snacks (@woodstockbakery sourdough, @princealbertolives olives, hummus, tzatziki, hummus chips, and homemade guacamole), gin-free tonics with bitters and played some Canasta. Since Roommate has managed to catch up, I obviously had to take him down a notch and I won. Biggest gap between scores to date. It was a beating, I tell you! I can go on about this but I am humble and kind. Lockdown Tournament score: 14–13.
We then proceeded to watch Breaking Bad until the longblinks came. Then I obviously woke up during the move to my bed and had to read.
I’m quite excited about this week. Lockdown Level 3 commences!
This is at the golf course we have been going to, mum and dad keep telling me how lucky i am we have this space so close to go to each day while in level 4 lockdown. There was something up this tree that i REALLY wanted to get but I couldn’t reach 😫 #husky#level4lockdown
Morning walks #level4lockdown ... Don't forget to take time out for self-care and to connect with nature if you can. This pandemic has taken a psychological toll on all of us. And after the injustice that we saw this week in America and here in South Africa, I am emotionally drained. The heart is heavy. 💔😢🧘🏽♀️🌍🍃 *Disclaimer: The intent was to take a photo of Table Mountain, not the house.

RSA Lockdown, Level 4, Day 29: It was FriYaY! There’s just a different smell and colour in the air on Fridays. It was reasonably chilled. I felt extra love for my team and decided to tell them how amazing they are. Everyone needs a Boss-Boost sometimes. Especially during lockdown when they can’t see smiles of approval.
I won the SBOP (Saviour and Best Overall Person) Award again, because I made snackwiches for lunch while Roommate’s work stress levels were high. During cleaning-as-I-was-going, I accidentally ate a bit of cucumber with sunlight liquid on it. That taste sits. It’s not great. Do not try at home.
After work we played cards and had the last of the wine. Roommate played the best had of the tournament and the Lockdown Tournament score is now 13–13. Unlucky …
I made a vegan spinach and sweet potato lentil curry and it was pretty tasty. Please note my Kitchen Laptop – pictured. This is to know what the eff to do. No, I can’t use my phone. I searched this recipe earlier on my laptop and this is where it would stay forever.
We then chatted about how to be better humans and being present and aware. Things got deep.
Finally watched 1917. Great WWI war movie. Would recommend.
I can’t remember anything else as food is currently getting made byeeee!
#FreshMusicFriday@djraybel has just dropped another banger with his new single “Get Away” feat Jessica Sodi. There is no better way than to spend your last weekend of #Level4Lockdown listening to some new amapiano grooves, so go stream the song on all digital platforms
RSA Lockdown, Level 4, Day 28: I can’t remember much. There was work, more brainstorming. Roommate was supposed to go to Woolies for a shop but at 12:30 I realised this ain’t happenin’ so I took matters into my own hands and ordered Sixty60. I won the Saviour and Best Overall Person award. We need corn flour for our Home Bao potstickers. I thought this was some fancy Asian ingredient, only purchased at niche-niche Chinese supermarkets. Turns out it’s Maizena!! Maizena, guys! We had this at home growing up. It’s pretty regular. Who knew (probably most people)?
Groceries arrived just in time for a late lunch of snackwiches. Late lunches are the best (besides the hunger) because then it’s very quick to the end of the workday. I finished at 16:30 stat, because the rest of the week was hectic and I felt it was time to read to my Book Cast subscribers. I also had a catch-up with @thenameisroz – once again, when will hugs be back in fashion! Some of us need them!
I almost didn’t move from the bed ever again, but Head Chef made our last @pizzaproper base with some olives and cherry tomatoes and avo. I felt a bit spoilt because I didn’t do anything. I did buy some chocolate treats for us so we had dessert! I love dessert.
We watched some Breaking Bad and then did some light reading and I scrolled through social media fighting the sleep I so desperately want. Some things never change …
