I mean, wow 😍 As Autumn beckons I can’t help but think back to our time on board @vikingcruises#VikingSea enjoying the Midnight Sun in Norway. By far the most amazing cruise I’ve ever taken. Have you enjoyed the Midnight Sun?
You can read all about this adventure over on the blog. Link in bio.
Our first sail in the Black Sea was 20 nautical miles from Sozopol to Tsavero, Bulgaria. To cover the distance, it took us four and a half hours, slowly sailing for about an hour, motor-sailing the rest. The wind was mellow and a certain bird kept us company most of the way, weaving in and out of our stanchions and throughout the cockpit, saying hello in only the way a sweet bird can. During the sail, I thought a lot about my past travels. Where I’ve been. What I’ve seen. The good souls I’ve met along the way. And, I realized; my memories are slowly fading and those places I always thought I’d remember, those faces I thought I would always cherish, those memories I thought I would always hold close to my heart...they are not so apparent anymore. And, I had failed to capture their true essence in their true time. And so, I have made a vow to myself this time around to enjoy capturing the beautiful moments, to write about the good and the bad, and to share any and all that I think I will cherish in the future or that, I hope, may be of benefit to others. So, here it begins. A few fleeting moments captured in time of sunlight enjoyed & new memories made. It’s time to share the beauty & the struggles of life at sea 💫 •
