I tried the dry January thing. Well, ok, I tried the “dry-ish” January thing. But sometimes you are in a season of life where you just need to curl up in a super soft oversized blanket and have a glass of wine. I’m so proud of all of my friends and all of you out there staying dry this month. The fact that we have slowed down, even if just a bit, is something for me to proud of. If you haven’t nailed your resolution or if you have slipped up here and there, don’t beat yourself up. Give yourself some grace. 80% of people have quit their New Years resolutions by mid-February. You don’t have to be perfect. Just don’t quit. I’m cheering you all on (maybe with a glass of wine) and routing for YOU!!!!

How are you looking at your life daily as a beautiful gift?
a series of problems?
a challenging experience?
a daily painful struggle?
How do you daily tell your story and describe your life?
What are the words you are using and repeating?
Even when you are passing thru a challenge, how are you perceiving your life?
Life is meant to be abundant and beautiful.
It is meant to flow at ease and peace.
Challenges and storms happen to help us going through life, understanding our wounds and accepting to release them so we can be more at ease and peace.
But when we keep daily affirming:
My life is bad
My life is hell
I hate my life
My life is only about problems
My life is unlucky
My life is stressful
Etc... Of the negative words... At the end of the day, this is what we are energizing and empowering and therefore, this is what we manifest.
Today and everyday, we have the choice to look at our life as a beautiful gift, to appreciate it and to choose to navigate through it through acceptance and gratitude and with an open heart in order to get the positive message behind every occurring challenge.
Affirmation of the day: My life is a beautiful gift.
Water is my happy place.
It legit fills my soul and clears my mind and heart like nothing else.
I’m relaxed af whenever I’m in or near water (unless my crazy ass kids are being a little too bold for my comfort😒). I’ve spent hours staring out at the ocean.
I grew up spending weekends at the lake.
In the middle of winter, being thousands of miles away from anything resembling a warm sandy beach, the bathtub is as good as it gets for me.
And you know what?
It still works.
The voice in my head is telling me to retreat.
To step back.
To slow down.
To not keep giving so many fucks about getting things done quickly.
Rushing and frustration equal force.
When you’re forcing, you’re pushing away what you want.
Slow down to speed up.
Listen to your inner voice and find your happy place.
Let everything unfold as it will.
The beauty will blow your fucking mind. ✨✨✨

My first book for 2020! I’ve had this book on my shelf for a while. It’s time! 2020 is going to be about learning more, being free to develop who I am as God’s child, as a wife and a mother, an aunt, a niece, a cousin and friend. If I’ve learned anything over the past few years, time is short. Life is meant to be lived. Not placed on a shelf for “some day”. What will you give yourself permission to do this year? I am really trying to practice slowing down. Speech, thoughts, how I move from one task to another. How I walk to pick up the kids, how I walk through the shops, how I cook dinner for the family. Being present and also taking a moment in between these task with a few deep breaths gives me the new perspective and slows me down. Not cramming so much in any given day. If our bodies and minds are always at a lighting pace, this in turns becomes stress. Stress, especially long-term stress is related to so many health problems. One of the them being mental health problems.
Who of you can relate? How fast do you move through the day and what could you do to sloooow down?
Let’s all try a little zen on our day. And if one task doesn’t get completed there is always tomorrow.

Live life like someone left the gate open 🥳
This mornings walk was nothing short of magical! Glorious sunshine & the sparkle & shimmer of frost across the ground 💫
Ted & Shadow have a particular point on this walk when they go a bit bonkers - there's a gate to let them in a field & they have to wait for me to open it - and when I do, they fly at a million miles an hour in pure joy to under the big tree in the photos. Lots of excited barking & waggy tails 💖
Just a few months ago, I would have stressed out about them doing - my conditioning about dogs behaving & how it must look to other people! ⭐
Now, I embrace it & love seeing them so happy! Yes, they're a bit loud for 20 seconds, but boy, do they know how to enjoy themselves! Think we could all do with taking a leaf out of their book & embracing some joy & fun into everything we do 💖
So to my 16yr old self; don't let limiting beliefs about being a 'grown up' & what that 'should' look like, stop you from being a bit bonkers! The world needs more fun! 🤪

HAPPINESS IS INSIDE ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS NOTICE AND SHINE THE FOCUS ON THAT.
It takes time to recognise that only you can create what you want for each day. Stop looking for confirmation from others and trust yourself because no one knows you better than you. Every thought is an opinion or action that suddenly appears in your mind. Choose good thoughts about yourself and the negative chatter to positive.
The change of chatter.
I can’t - I can.
It won’t happen - it will happen.
I don’t believe in myself - i do believe in myself.
I don’t trust myself - i do trust myself.
I can’t do it - I can do this.
I don’t have the knowledge - I will gather the knowledge I need.
I give up - I keep going.
I don’t have the patience - I will develop the patience.
What if I fail - what if I succeed.
I am not as good as others - I am good enough.
I am not the right shape - I am nourishing my body with good nutrition and exercising in a healthy way.
I have weaknesses - I work on strengthening them.
Everything is an effort - Everything is manageable.
I don’t like my body - I respect and love my body.
I am not good enough - I am more than enough.
I feel different to others - I am unique there is only one of me.
Change each thought using each one of these statements this week and see how things change inside out for you. 😊

I remember this day in 1978
when my father- Late Beat Poet #tedjoans gathered us for a photo.
He told us not to smile in the first photo,..... and nobody smiled. 😔
In the second photo he told us all to act crazy & have fun,.... and everyone did! 😂 🤣😆
Guess he wanted to show us the difference of seriousness & laughter. ( Big difference)
I prefer laughter 😛
My siblings & I laugh every single time we see each other or talk on the phone.
There is always something to laugh about. ..
I laugh with my kids every opportunity too! 🤣
Same thing for @lonniejordanwar & I . We are usually both busy with our day working and creating, but we stop each other all day everyday to tell something funny.
Actually, as most of u know , Lonnie is naturally funny,...so the laughter is pretty much non stop.
Everyday is pure entertainment around here... lol 😂 .

new month, new adventures - I am so thrilled to finally announce that I have taken a new job opportunity with @neumovement & cannot contain my excitement ⭐️ leaving my job of 4 years was a hard decision to make, but I am beyond excited for this new career path & the growth that is to come! You want a change, but you’re doing the same thing you’ve been doing ..... 🤔
So often I hear people complaining about their life. “I want a better job”
“I want him to care more”
“I want more freedom to travel and enjoy life”
“I want to feel good in a bathing suit”
If you keep taking the SAME actions, you will get the SAME results. ✨You want to do what you love? Start DOING what you love! Start small, but START ACTUALLY DOING IT!
✨You want him to care more? Start by CARING for yourself!! It sets the standard for how others should treat you!
✨You want more freedom!?! Stop saying yes to everything/everyone. Get your to-do list out of your head and actually schedule it into your calendar. Create the space for you to have the freedom!
✨ You want to feel good in a bathing suit? MOVE YOUR BODY!!
Stop complaining and TAKE THE ACTIONS that will get you closer to what you truly want!! Stop making excuses! ⬇️
