I find that caring for plants can somewhat fill a space in my heart that longs to nurture 🌵
This is Piper - yes I name my plants and if you stick around you’ll definitely see more.
I collect plants. I also germinate and propagate new ones from seeds and leaves I already have. It’s really fun! I enjoy digging in the soil, repotting when they are grown, and organizing and reorganizing them all around my spaces.
God called us to care for His creation. There are MANY ways to do this too. I also have a betta fish (see background) and love to take care of him too.
What are some ways you nurture? Maybe it is people, maybe animals, maybe plants. I want to know! 👇🏼
Taking care of others - people or things - can be surprisingly therapeutic on those hard days. I encourage you to give it a try! If you don’t already have a plant or animal, stop by the flower section in the grocery store next time you’re in. Find a plant that will last with good care and see how it goes. Succulents and cacti are popular right now, join the club 😁

When I heard this I thought this is what I want people to think of me!
I want people to come to my page and be excited and to feel all the positive vibes and energy
I want to inspire, uplift, and teach people how to love themselves
I haven’t always been a super energetic person....
I didn’t always know how to take care of my body...
I haven’t always been this excited about life....
I have to tell you though since learning how to take care of myself and deal with the hard things in life in more positive ways my mood and energy have shifted and I am just plain excited! 🥳☀️
The day to day grind can be so wearing — mentally & physically, no matter what you are doing: nursing, stay at home mom, student, waitress, office worker, barista
You’ve got to find something that brings you joy, something that gets you to wake up in the morning swing your legs out of bed and run to go do
I was just talking in our accountability group about how short life is and how we only get one chance
Go find that thing that brings you joy, the thing that makes you smile, that thing that starts a fire in your belly 🔥
You can do anything you want!
You just have to decide to go do it!!

I had a flashback yesterday - the drive to this beautiful region of Arizona/Utah. We’d set out assuming we’d have signal for most of the way, but about half an hour in, signal was gone and we had no idea where we were going. We passed through a town and I screamed “FREE WIFI!!” at @brodieemery as I saw it ahead on a diner sign. We pulled in and enjoyed the greasiest meal while getting our bearings on google maps. A few hours later we found ourselves in this majestic landscape!
Don’t underestimate the power of sleep to your health goals! My kids and my dog slept a ton when they were babies and a puppy. It’s such a sweet precious sight and you just know that their bodies are doing amazing things during sleep to help them grow and be healthy!
So why do we think as grown ups that our bodies don’t need sleep for us to be at our best?
We should be aiming for 7-9 hours of sleep. Each of us have different needs and only a small percent of us can run efficiently on less than that.
So what does sleep have to do with your health and fitness goals? When it comes to hunger, without proper sleep, our bodies can’t properly regulate our hunger hormone (ghrelin) and our satiety hormone (leptin). In fact, you’re more likely to make bad choices, to feel really hungry, not have energy for physical activity and to crave carbs when you are tired. This is one of those areas that is you can control that isn’t food or fitness but that will help you feel better, will help your body function better and will help you be more mentally able for making better choices.
This may be difficult for those that have been putting off sleep for years and like anything, you have to choose to make it important and then create the habit. So Starting tonight, just schedule it like you schedule your wake up time and if you need to move closer to that 7-9 hours over time. It doesn’t matter how big the steps as long as over time they get you there! .

Earn your turns.
After a killer morning and some quality time on the skin track doing some work for @wild_rye_ , @catkeenan81 and I decided we earned some full fledge skiing on the way down, save one photo. The rest of the run? Well, we ripped the shit out of it. It was cold, and fluffy, and I’ll dream about skiing it again tonight. Doubt my brain will turn off. That’s just how she goes and I like it 🤤
