this week i turned 30, which felt absolutely mind blowing. i am ringing in the new decade in the most incredible way, here in peru with my love. it’s overwhelming to think of what’s ahead of me & also what i’m leaving behind me. my 20s were some of the most insecure years of my life... self loathing, doubt, depression, confusion filled much of my headspace. there are so many memories & good times of course, not to mention an immense amount of growth... especially as i approached 30. in this moment i am overwhelmed, but in this case with excitement. i am welcoming this new decade as a human who is still flawed, but who is whole. who is following her heart, continuing to grow, and looking so forward to what’s next 💕 let’s do this 30!

Saturday: a day where Hattie woke up at 6:30 and was a total wild woman all day, we ate a good breakfast, I warmed up my coffee like 4 times BUT I took all my sips while it was hot each time so... Stephen fixed a shelf in the playroom I tried to hang up while he was gone, we NAPPED! Played outside... ✨ it’s good to have my man back
Dinner tonight was a huge hit! Vegan mushroom pizzas (the cheese was daiya), and a side of Swiss chard with raisons and pine nuts. My oldest, who eats nothing I cook, had a sandwich. Womp womp... However my other two children and my husband both enjoyed it! So far my new years resolution to eat less meat is going well! #vegan#newyearnewme#meatlessdinner#healthy#livesimple

If I get lost and feel fear's cold grip, I'll become a lark and fly over snowy peaks until winter's song frees my spirit and guides my heart home. 🌲☀🌿
Have a beautiful day, loves 🌲
I DO CARE 🙏
#quote#lifequotes#livesimple#love#life#learnconstantly#beconnected#nature#lovenature#begreen # #greenlife#vegan#vegetarian#zerowaste

(link in bio) 😘💕
Quite a few of y'all pointed out the other day that our van does not have a name. 😂
I originally wanted to name her 𝗪𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝗪𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐞𝐫 when we had to replace our engine after putting only 500 miles on it, but it was a little too soon and Parker didn't find it funny yet. 😬😂
Then I liked the idea of naming her after a hike-to ski run that we had done together. But 𝐀𝐛𝐚𝐲'𝐬 𝐬𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐥 𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐞 just didn't have a good ring to it. 🤔 The closest we got was 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞'𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 which turned into 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐲 which lasted about a week. 🤷🏻♀️
We are open to suggestions! 😜🚐
How did you come up with the name for your van/vehicle?!
We took it upon ourselves to design our new office. After all, design is design. There are so many similarities between designing out a physical space and a digital one. Designing within constraints and a budget are the obvious ones. Designing something that is both useful as well as beautiful. Evoking an emotion that draws people to actually want to be in a space or use a piece of software.
Getting up close and personal, you can see so many details that are left to finish. Using this first photo as an example:
1) Fix leveling for the floating shelf that will go in above the backsplash.
2) Raise the pendants so that there is plenty of working space between them and the items that will eventually be on the shelf.
3) Install the large refrigerator to the right of the dishwasher against the dark wall.
4) Install the brass cabinet pulls
5) Tighten down the dishwasher to the wall so that’s it more flush with cabinets.
6) More shelving on wall behind island
1) Lot of furniture, plants, and rugs needed to fill out the space.
2) Minor but an eye sore - replace ugly looking trash and recycling bins for something that fits better aesthetically

I should have posted a pic of all these goodies earlier but I literally started wearing them instead. Worst PR girl ever. 😂😂 This eyeshadow palette is the perfect neutral at such a great price. Don’t get me started on the eyeliner! Soft and easy to apply. 😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥 #20yearsofglow 🌟 🌟 .
Learn how to celebrate others. Your light shines brighter if you shine together. Bitterness and envy will destroy you, don't ever compare your life to someone else because you don't know the pain of their journey. ....
Don't forget that we also just see the Instagram life, not reality. 🤔
I'll leave you with one of my favorites Proverbs 14:30 "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones."
It is much simpler to look within you and cherish the many blessings that you take for granted.... #livesimple#upliftothers#uplift#enjoythelittlethingsinlife#empower#celebratelife#bethebestyou#bekind#findthegoodinyourlife

• i will be alone in my soul or my body 💫⚡️ •
My worst nightmare happened last night. Brayden started yelling for us at midnight-we went into his room to find that he had gotten sick alllllllll over himself, his bed, the floors,THE WALLS GUYS. He puked on the walls 🤢 poor little man.
All I have to say through all of this is thank goodness for thieves! We can spray this cleaner on our walls, carpets, toys, beds.. you name it and it’s SAFE. It gives us a nice deep clean without any of those dangerous & synthetic chemical ingredients. It’s completely non-toxic and plant based. I added a little citrus fresh to mine for a nice refreshing scent. Really comin in clutch to help me conquer this danger zone this morning 🌿
Head to my stories to learn more about this powerhouse 👊🏼

[ad - gifted] A little #dresslikeyourhome for Saturday - utilitarian ware for a simple, utilitarian home 😄 During the week working from home on my own I tend to make zero effort (although I will always make sure I’m out of my pj’s!) but at the weekend I like to smarten it up a bit even if I’m still in my jeans. This versatile workwear jacket from @arketofficial will see me through to Spring and beyond 👌🏼 Wasn’t it so nice to see the bright sunshine today ✨ [the jacket was a press gift from @arketofficial , I made the green bowl at a press event hosted by @vitra]

Happy Saturday, friends! ☼
What are you up to today? I’ll be organizing and starting to pull more selections from my home decor to put up for sale this week but before I begin, I wanted to share a quick tip for starting to minimize your wardrobe:
↓ Get yourself a garment rack ↓
① Choose 7-10 outfits, 4 pairs of shoes and 5-6 accessories for the week ahead and hang/place them on the garment rack. (this does not include workout clothes and sneakers)
② Really focus on choosing items that make you feel amazing when you wear them and think about items that can be paired in multiple ways.
③ Challenge yourself not to make any substitutions from your closet or even go into your closet for the next 2 weeks (yes, 2 weeks!) Just focus on the items you’ve selected.
④ At the end of the 2 week period, take some time to check in with yourself and ask:
- Did I get ready faster for the day?
- Did I feel good in my outfit every day? - Did anyone even notice that I wore the same dress last week?
- Did my stress level in getting ready for the day reduce?
- Did I feel less overwhelmed not having so many options in front of me?
When we simplify the things in our environment, it gives us more time to focus on the things that are most important to us and in turn, we are generally a lot happier for it 🤍
Will you consider giving this experiment a try or do you think I’m totally cray? Either way I would love to know 😂

Let elevate our vibes! 💫Cómo? 👇🏻
Seee yaaaa! .
It’s cold and wet outside! Our favorite thing to cook on days like this is my homemade chicken noodle soup! I’m expanding this year into cooking classes, immersive experiences, and events. I’ll still be shooting all the fabulous food photography. Winston and I are also designing a line of heirloom furniture and we are releasing his album this year. There will also be some cool workshops that revolve around woodworking and self sustainable living. Our intention for this year is the be with you guys in real life. Learning and experiencing community and relationships. I cannot wait to announce all the goodies we have planned. I’ll be releasing more information about @theshackandtheskillet in just a few weeks! Give us a follow so you’ll be in the know!
OUR STORY || plan to move to west Texas || purchase a camper to live in full time || a month later find out you’re pregnant 😳 (insert PURE PANIC MODE) || drive 15 hours with 2 dogs and all your belongings to you’re tiny home and rv park you’ve never actually seen in person while 20 weeks pregnant || endure 110 degree weather in a hot box camper the last few months of your pregnancy || give birth to the most perfect angel baby boy and cry happy tears of where God has placed you and how perfect his plan was for us. A special thanks to @theflippingnomad for making my “nursery nook” dreams come true. #littleLJ#LeoJames
Tiny living chaos 😊 taking measurements of the dinette area so we can order foam for cushions to make the lounge more comfortable.
James is keeping Lily busy while I make cushion templates out of packing paper. .
💔If I gave my kids a teeny, tiny bit of antifreeze everyday, would that be ok? I used to. 💔What if I let them drink just a smidge of a Neurotoxin each day? They did. 💔What if let them smoke a cigarette just once a day? What if it’s second-hand smoke?
Sometimes they had to multiple times a day. 💔Would it be ok if I let them apply roundup on their hands to sanitize them? We did everytime we left the house. 💔Or what about petroleum (gasoline) for their dry skin? Every winter ❄️
Oh gosh. Heck no.
I’m telling you. Dig deeper.
These ingredients are allowed in the everyday products thousands of us ALL have used, or are using right NOW, as you read this post. ❤️ 💀Antifreeze = in almost every toothpaste 💀Neurotoxin (Toxic to the brain) = Any food or toothpaste/product with colorants/food dyes. 💀Lighting a candle for just one hour a day = same as breathing in second hand smoke 💨 💀Triclosan = in anything marked Antibacterial. Originally created as a pesticide because it continues to kill for more than 12 hours after applied. 💀Petroleum = derivative of gasoline. 😳
But it’s little bit each day. No worries.
That’s what the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976 basically said.
A little at a time, so it’s fine.
❤️If I know anything to be true....I know that whatever you do in small amounts, adds up to big, compounded effects.
Good. Or Bad. ❤️💔
You don’t need poisons to live.
Just because someone sells it, doesn’t make it safe. ❤️
👉🏻Statistics are now showing that within the next 5 years, EVERY American will be looking for natural alternatives.
That tells me, we are a generation who wants better!!!!
Change is happening. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

If you think you need another qualification/more experience/more testimonials/more training (delete as appropriate) before you take the next step in your business, may I just have your attention for a minute?
Today I’ve been going through the results of my annual survey (thank you if you took part!), and one of the questions I asked was ‘what is your favourite thing about what I do?’. I was expecting there to be a lot of “I like your actionable takeaways, your marketing tips, your planning episodes’”. And there was some of that, for sure. But you know what outweighed them all?
“Your approach”. “Your calm and sincerity, your different approach, your honesty”. “The way you make things so easy to understand”. Line after line on the spreadsheet read ‘approach’.
I say this to show you that no one gives a fig about how many years of experience I have or what qualifications I took. This is is the *proof* of the boring old advice that no one can do your idea like you, your approach is what people are buying. Because it’s true. The thing that people are drawn to is your innate humanness, your own approach and way of thinking about the world.
Stop worrying about what you don’t have, and focus on being more you. You are plenty ❤️
