Do you want to live your BEST life? Then here’s the secret:
Go live it!
Yep, that’s it. Start right this minute and do one thing that brings you JOY.
Then do another and another and another, until you wake up one morning and realize you’re living a life that lights you up!
But it’s not always easy. So here are three things that I did (and still do) to create a life I love.
1. Practice gratitude. I use a journal these days, but I didn’t always. I started by noticing when my mind wanted to focus on the negative things around me. Then I practiced shifting my focus to things that I was grateful for whenever the negatives came up. Eventually, I started being able to feel gratitude even in the shittiest of moments. Does that stop things from being or feeling shitty? Not always. But it does help me shift more quickly back toward joy and love...which is where I prefer to be.
2. Practice deep self-care. Once I got basic self-care under control, I started taking time in my week to really nurture and pamper myself. Most weeks that meant getting the kids to bed early and taking a long bath, reading and meditating. Now that I’m in a house without a tub, the ritual is different, but the purpose is the same: Overfill my cup so that I can put into others without using up my reserves.
3. Do something that brings joy, every day. Some days this is pulling out my sharpies and creating. Some days it’s taking a walk with a friend. Others it’s turning the music up as loud it goes and singing along. And some days it’s all of those things and then some. When we FEEL joy, we attract more joy into our lives.
If you’re overwhelmed and can’t find room for any of these things in your life, I’ve been there. But starting each of these practices is a HUGE part of what helped me get out of the overwhelm cycle. Give them a try and see what happens!
Ever heard of ‘Averagitis’?
That’s what I lived with for years😳
Constant allergies, sinus infections, migraines, fatigue, a poor immune system. I literally attracted any germ someone else shared😞
Sure put a cramp into living my best life😬
Yet, I thought I was healthy because I exercised and was fit. And, so many of the people around me experienced the same. I didn’t see my experience as anything out of the ordinary.
And that’s just it. It was ordinary. It was common. Which led me to believe it was normal.
Boy was I wrong!! And thankfully so😊
There is Nothing normal about feeling bad and getting sick all the time. As a society, we’ve just accepted it as the way things are😞
We were designed for better👊
One simple change made all the difference to show me what living with true health and vitality really feels like🌟
Much to my surprise, every single ‘ailment’ I’d accepted as part of my ‘healthy’ identity dissipated within a few short months💃
It’s been nearly 26 years. I feel better than I did as a teenager. More youthful even👏👏👏
My experience compelled me to want to help others feel as great as I do. On Monday, I had the privilege of being interviewed, sharing my journey and what made such a dramatic difference in my quality of life.
If you’d like to listen and learn more about the catalyst that changed my life, reach out. I’m happy to share access to the recording. .
Why settle for less than anything short of vibrant health and vitality?

As an NTP, I also consider myself a STRESS detective! 🔍 🧐
As much as I believe stress has its proper place, there’s no doubt that chronic and prolonged stress is a main source of inflammation, illness, and degeneration. ♦️
I remember being in my nutritional therapy class where a big bucket was presented on the screen with the question - what’s in your stress bucket? The idea being - the more we load in, the farther good health and vitality move away! ♦️
Here are some main stressors that might be adding up in your life and draining your account of life force energy! ⚡️ - nutrient deficiencies
- heavy metal toxicity - genetic variations - unresolved emotions - lack of sleep - environmental toxin exposure - lifestyle stressors (work, relationships, alcohol) - poor / lack of movement - food sensitivities - microbial balances - poor nutrition - poor posture ....and much more!
Be addressing the root causes of these stressors, we can begin to regulate our autonomic nervous systems and cultivate peace and health ✌️ So, what’s in your stress bucket? #stressdetective#ntp#dealingwithstress#rootcausehealing#holistichealth#adaptability#nutrition#functionalmedicine#movement#balance#resilience#innerpeace#regulate#healthcoach#stresscoach#livewell
You may have noticed... we made the recent decision to dump the newspaper from our reception area at #livechiropractic . Perhaps it’s sticking our heads under the sand for ignorant bliss? What I prefer to think is that what you bring and maintain in the forefront of your mind, you attract.
Fill your thoughts with what you want to attract, not what you may be dreading about your day. ‘Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.’ Wayne Dyer
I didn’t always love being considered weird because I didn’t like, do or enjoy the same things as the “in” crowd. It was painful when I was younger because I didn’t know my power or understand how to use my gifts.
Now I’m a proud, card-carrying weirdo. I celebrate my uniqueness and my ability to look and see beyond the surface of people and situations. The past few years have been about fine tuning myself and each day comes with life lessons and blessings.
I will continue to dance to the beat of the drum that only I and those who I share a tribe with can hear. I will continue to dine on the written word so I may learn and take wisdom from those who have gone before me and those in this present. I will continue to be an eternal optimist when it come to love, and I will always smile at strangers. I will continue to share the good things that I know so others may be lifted. Love and blessings 😊❤️ #livewell#love#bekind#dancingtothebeatofmyheart#eternaloptimist#selflove
Alright IG, it’s about to get REAL. I’m not one to EVER do these kind of photos because well it’s scary AF. People are judgmental on social media but here we are, going for it. 🙈 The first photo I was ONE month PP, the second photo I’m FOUR months PP. What a difference a couple months can do. It’s not HUGE, but it’s a process my friends. This body brought two beautiful HEALTHY baby girls into the world (back to back might I add). I’m damn proud of this “mom bod.” The physical changes a woman goes through to have a baby are incredible, and it doesn’t just stop once the baby is here, it takes a while for your body to heal. I feel fantastic inside and out. I workout regularly, I eat healthy, and have proper supplementation, but I also eat ice cream pretty regularly! 😂 Ask Josh, he can attest to the amount of It’s It’s sandwiches we buy for ME! 💁🏽♀️ I have no shame. We still got work to do, but I ain’t stressing, this is just the beginning 😉

Do you think you love sleep because sleep is amazing? It’s true, sleep is amazing but did you know that: ~ Sleep plays an important role in your physical health? Sleep is involved in healing and repairing not only your heart and blood vessels but ALL of your organs ~ Ongoing sleep deficiency is linked to an increased risk of heart disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and stroke ~ People who don’t get enough sleep are more likely to have bigger appetites due to the fact that their leptin levels (leptin is an appetite-regulating hormone) fall, promoting appetite increase.
So whether you’re looking to feel more rested throughout your entire day, balance out your diet, reduce stress, help regulate your hormones or just need an excuse to catch a few more zzz’s, remember how important it is to rest that beautiful head on your pillow every night.
TIPS for better sleep:
1. make your bed every morning so when you get home at night your cozy rest space is ready for you.
2. Turn off and stop using anything with a screen 2 hours before your bed time.
3. Keep your bed to sleep activities only - no working in bed, no eating in bed, no stressful things in your sleep space!

Please welcome the wonderful and completely cool @nicolesrow to the podcast! I met Nicole when she came on to play bass for @panicatthedisco and loved her from the start. She has an easy-going, approachable nature and the best smile ever 🤩 She thrives when she’s adventuring, traveling, hiking, exploring the world, and she can also get into her stage makeup and shine during a 2-hour rock show night after night while touring the world with her music family. This gal really does it all! You may know and love her on stage and online, but tune in to hear more about her family life and childhood, the unexpected story behind the necklace she wears (⚠️⚠️ trigger warning! we do dive into some pretty intense stories about drug use, death, and more so please listen with care for yourself in mind ⚠️⚠️), how she feels about yoga, spirituality, and manifesting, plus so much more. 🙏
Finding ways to nurture my spiritual self after leaving a fundamentalist evangelical upbringing left me starting from scratch. It hasn't akways been pretty or fun, but ten years out I feel like I'm finally grounding into intuitive practices that feel my spirit self. My favorite being the gathering and building of an altar space. The word alter has carried so much shame for me, so I made an active choice to reclaim it. That might not be true for you, so name your quiet corner whatever feels best, then fill it with items that connect you to the unknown. Mine changes often, but it always has a mirror and pen and paper. I'd love to hear how you connect to the unknown, the magic, the spiritual and what practices are centering for you. Do you have a sacred space like this? Xo @caitie_metz
