A short visit to the capital and largest city of Slovenia, Ljubljana, was complemented by nice weather and positive impressions on several of the visited attractions in the city center. The same impression was marred by the fact that hotel, where I was accommodated, was far from the center, so the walk up there was at least the cardio training.
Ljubljana is probably one of the few cities in the world whose central town square is aborned with a statue of a poet rather than some political or military hero. The poet, France Preseren, is best known for his sonnets and he was one of Europe's great Romanic poets. The 3.35 meter statue is accompanied by a muse sitting on a rock above the poet, who must have found her very inspirational. Like any other square, this one is also very popular meeting point, the amazing place full of life, place where both, locals and tourists, like to spend their time in. From this point it's impossible not to notice one of the greatest symbol of the city, Ljubljana Castle.
Slovenia/Venice Vacation 2019!
Talk about an amazing trip! We started our journey by flying 13 hours into the Venice Airport. We rented a Fiat 500x and took off towards Ljubljana, Slovenia. 2.5 hours later we arrived at our fabulous Airbnb, Stella Sky Apartments! We explored so many incredible areas including Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, and Vrsac Pass in the Triglav National Park. The views were absolutely stunning in October, next level type of beauty. We drove back to Venice to explore. Venice is an incredibly unique city. Literally everything is built and done on the water. It's like being transported back in time with beautiful intricate architecture, narrow streets, and history as far as the eye can see
A trip I won't soon forget and loved every minute with my travel buddy @tianna_rose_
