. [English] "If you want to find Uril players, look for a good shade or a leafy tree.
It is the favorite game of Cape Verdeans, soon followed by card games, and has survived the passage of time, remaining rooted in the culture and tradition of the archipelago.
There is no age to play uril, nor social class. However, in Cape Verde, the game is played mostly by men - it is rare to see women playing.
It is practiced on a board (or boards) with twelve cavities, each containing four grains or seeds.

Feels like you're in Italy when you're in Hamburg. Not only are the pizzas and salads delicious, but the prices are also fair. We’d recommend reserving a table beforehand as the restaurant can get busy. @jills_pizza

OUR NEW HOME FOR THE NEXT MONTH🇱🇰
Ok maybe not the beautiful Ella- BUT we found an apartment in the south of Sri Lanka: Weligama! I love living by the beach and Weligama is super chill and has lots of good restaurants
By the way- Andy and I found our apartment from knocking on locals doors and getting directed to someone that knows someone who knows someone😂
Traveling all the time can be super freakin exhausting, and I feel so much more “at home” when I settle down somewhere & get into a proper routine
Getting into a regular routine is legit the hardest thing to do when you’re traveling. It’s something I struggle with SO much and I hate it
I just want to be able to wake up, go for a run at sunrise on the beach, then come home, enjoy my hot morning coffee (w/ coconut milk😊) on my outside patio, do some stretching, meditate, read for a bit, and cook myself a delicious homemade breakfast
Literally so excited 😂
Also, I love getting to actually know a certain place so much better by staying there for an extended period of time! You really get the local feel, and if you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m alllll about that.
For now, we’re planning on staying a month, but that can all change if we end up really liking it!
💕Join us live tomorrow so we can show you a tour of our place and also tell you the details about our special Valentines weekend promo for our Weiss World Group Trips that kicks off tomorrow!!

Gli uomini sono come i fiumi: l’acqua è in tutti uguale e ovunque la stessa, ma ogni fiume è ora stretto, ora rapido, ora ampio, ora tranquillo, ora limpido, ora freddo, ora torbido, ora tiepido.
My style of travel has changed SO much
For the longest time, I was going on Every. Single. Damn. Tour. that was offered. I was like, “omg I have to see EVERYTHING”
It’s not that I hate tours, it’s just that they can be superrr exhausting. 5-8 hours all day site-seeing, trying to walk through all the crowds of people, tons of people showing up at the exact same place you’re going to, hot AF, not to mention I have a really short attention span so I don’t even remember what the tour guides say at the end of the day😂
After all the guided tours, I honestly felt like I wasted my money because I didn’t even remember anything or have THAT great of a time😕
Then I started traveling in a different way.
The first time I started traveling and experiencing the culture instead of going on all your typical guided tours was in September 2018 in Turkey. I’m not joking when I say that my trip to Turkey has changed the ENTIRE way of how I travel going forward.
I started hanging out with locals, chatting with locals on the street, and saw the country through their eyes. Locals were bringing me to the best spots to hangout at, best rooftop bars, best restaurants, best sunset spots, they even treated me to lunch and endless bottles of wine😜
I was having the time of my freakin’ LIFE🙌🏻
❌I no longer felt FOMO if I didn’t get to see all the touristy sites.
I just showed up to a country, no plans, but hungry for seeing a country through locals’ eyes.
In my opinion, there’s no “right” way to travel, but the way I travel, I guarantee you, you will leave with endless memories and you will never forget it. You might even cry. (I LITERALLY BALLED MY EYES OUT WHEN I LEFT TURKEY😭)
🔗Click the link in my bio if you want to learn more about my group trips this summer and get the BEST cultural experience!
👉🏼I’m curious, when you travel, do you like to interact with locals, or do you like to do all the touristy stuff?
