I want to share little knowledge abaut Cacatua moluccensis.
🍃 Cacatua moluccensis is endemic to Seram, Ambon, Saparua and Haruku in South Maluku, Indonesia.
There are no recent records from Saparua and Haruku, and it may only survive at one locality on Ambon,
leaving almost the entire population on Seram, where it was once abundant, but has suffered declines,
including an estimated 20-40% in one region during the 1990s. It remains locally common in Manusela
National Park and, perhaps especially, in east Seram.
There has been little research on the population size of the species, and the studies that are available
report very different population densities. A study in 1998 reported a population density of 7.87 (±1.98)
birds/km2 (Kinnaird et al. 2003), extrapolating to 110,385 birds (95% CI=62,416–195,242) in 1998, based
on 14,026 km2
of suitable habitat available on Seram), whereas a survey in 2006-2007 reported a
density of 0.83 birds/km2 (Y. E. Persulessy in litt. 2007), extrapolating to 9,640 birds in 2007 (based on
11,598 km2of suitable habitat available on Seram).
!!!!LET'S TAKE CARE THIS SPECIES AND LOVE THEM!!!!

Avocado has been on my mind to plant but not so successful in the past.
Now, thanks to Youtube, you can learn anything you want for free. I watched 3 videos and key to the success seems like:
🌱Peel the outer shell of the seed
🌱Use toothpicks to let them afloat ( don’t stab on the lines on the seed)
🌱Submerge the seed more than 50% into the water constantly
🌱Keep the water clean (clean the algae when happens)
🌱They love aspirin in the water🤩
Someone succeeded to have them germinate in 40 days❣️
I’m so looking forward to see their root by this Christmas😍
🌈What if all of us start planting more seeds and be able to eat and sustain our lives? 🌈What if all of us can reduce so much footprint from conventional market system and reduce gas, plastic bags, CO2, food waste, and landfills?
Yes, this is my small step but will be a huge gift to next and seven more generations💗I’ll keep doing what I can and I wanna see the better world when I become a grandma.

This is how most of biodiversity loss from climate change will happen . Some species are killed by just small changes in temperature - that's bad. On the flipside, other species may be able to cope with the temperature change. Wait, not so fast. Even if a species can cope, their food may not be able to. In general, if the survival of a species depends on the survival of another, they themselves will also suffer . For example, a bird may starve because there are not enough insects to eat . This can lead to "extinction cascades". An extinction cascade is caused when the extinction of one species leads to the extinction of others, and so on .
Tomorrow we'll look at how climate change is altering how animals behave.

What are your dreams made of ?
Moments like this make me realise this is what I always dreamt of.
So much time spent out in the open, it’s what I have learnt the most from.
A classroom without walls, never-ending, forever changing, without ever knowing what is around the corner. For everything I’ve done in my life these are the moments I work for.
This humpback whale was so curious, not that common here when they have a lot to be wary of. Makes your heart stand still, realise you are just a speck in one big revolving eco system, never forget it. We all have our parts to play. .

🎼Song: @dermotkennedy just released a new album, someone I’ve listened to for years, and is one of the most talented writers and a voice to send chills down your spine. This song is called The Corner 💧
Over the next few decades tens of millions of people will be affected by flooding due to rising sea levels . It has been seen during numerous hurricanes and typhoons that coastal ecosystems can protect the land and the people that live on it from stormy seas . Indeed, coral reefs reduce the height of waves by 70% on average, and reduce the energy of the waves by 97% . In comparison, salt marshes reduce wave height by 72%, seagrass or kelp beds by 36%, and mangroves by 31% . Coral reefs are particularly important because they exist in very exposed areas where waves are big, making the potential damage from storms worse [1,2].
Unfortunately, we are expected to lose 70-90% of coral reefs if we reach 1.5°C of global warming, or over 99% with 2°C of warming . Doing all we can to protect and restore coral reefs and other ecosystems would provide huge benefits for society in terms of protection from storms, in addition to multiple other benefits like tourism and saving wildlife [1,2].
