Today while teaching I said something about dropping the aesthetic of the pose and I haven't really stopped thinking about that concept. The idea that this practice is governed by deep understanding and connection has an aesthetic. We could chop it up to Instagram or the marketing of the industry of yoga or maybe it's driven by the ego. But what a curious thing that a practice based around none attachment even needs the disclaimer of forgetting the aesthetic fixation of a posture. Understand striving for perfection or aesthetics is an injustice to your practice. Keep connecting, let your practice change, there are no absolutes.

Inspirational first podcast with the founder of @santaisla, Jess Sanchez. ‘Redefining beauty norms’. Great take aways: .
* Take time for yourself
* You are important
* Don’t be afraid to say ‘no’
Talks that matter for exploring the dimensions of wellness, equality and leadership through real stories. Each guest brings a unique lens to what it means to live through our purpose.
We may not look at wellness the same way again. #lululemon#podcast#livethroughyourpurpose
I hope none of you think I have it all together. I hope you see these pictures and think of me as flawed, hopeful, strong and simultaneously weak.
Sure, a beautiful Instagram feed is important to me because I love design and photography and these beautiful tones. But the reality is that no matter what, I’m just as human as anyone else.
In this crazy world we live in, reality checks are super important. 🤙🏼

Want a great finisher to polish off the legs? Throw in a couple rounds of plyometrics TRX jump squats. Here @lindsay.milner did 3 rounds of 5 reps. After each set, take a quick breath and then get to it. Rest 1 minute after rounds. Perform 3-5 rounds. Your legs will feel rubbery and your heart rate will be elevated. Ending the workout with a mini “Hitt” bout will have your metabolism kicking into high gear for the rest of the day. Make sure you explode up from the squat position(push the floor away), fully lengthened mid air and land with your body absorbing the landing. This will tax not only the legs but your whole body. It also has the benefit of being a very athletic component to it. The skill of deceleration. This tends to be underutilized when working out. Always be in control. @vice@womenshealthmag@lululemon@trxtraining

Finally able to walk properly again after our mountain hike, so it was time to visit my friend, the gym, again! No slacking on vacation, but the extra rest and calories sure got a warm welcome from my body!🤪💪 Last day tomorrow! Sad to leave, but happy to get back into my normal rythm again🤩
Time to go shopping ... this Alabama girl is not prepared for snow. It’s beautiful... but #LuluLemon is not gonna cut it.

So today was a quiet the burn 🔥!!!
I have an early flight to LA tomorrow and I know the only workout I might get in is an early run... besides that it’ll be a lot of sitting by the pool with a 🍹 in hand!
30 seconds of ropes, followed by 10-12 squats ( i do 35lbs on each side), followed by wide and short stance on the 45 degree leg press.
Repeat all 3 times in a circuit fashion. .
Next single leg toe touch, you can do opposite leg opposite arm for easier balance. Then courtesy squats, and pulses.
3 sets of 10 each, don’t forget to do the other leg! Repeat in a circuit fashion.
Yes I am not in the same clothing for all of these videos 😂 they were filmed on different days, but I did this exact set today. 🤗
Enjoy the BURN 🔥🔥🔥 . #fitness#fitnessgirl#personaltrainer#trainer#fitmom#fitmoms#momlife#momofthree#azliving#lululemon#lululemonleggings
💁🏻♀️”Your arms look broken” or “Your arms look so weird” or “Can your hands/fingers be normal?” – Those are questions I am always asked by other people including my Fiancé when he took photos for me – cheers 😅
I was sad, upset and cried ... and hated my body because poses like #crowpose , #handstand , #armstand , extended #sideanglepose or even a basic #pushup … were challenges for me. You maybe able to do #chaturanga with a 90-degree elbows after 3-4 classes of practicing but it took me almost 6 months practicing in classes and at home just for that basic pose lol and crow pose is maybe easy for everyone without special elbows, but it has been a year and I am still having trouble with it 🤦🏻♀️
💡So, what is #Hypermobility ?
Joint hypermobility simply means that you can move some or all of your joints more than most people can. You may have been aware from an early age that your joints were more supple than other people's. You may think of it as being double-jointed. Elbow hyperextension happens when your elbow joint is bent beyond its normal range of motion. When we overly straighten the elbow, it puts pressure on the ligaments and tendons. Add in weight-bearing, as we do with poses like #downwardfacingdog or #handstand , the elbow takes even more undue strain.
In addition, Back pain is no joke. Scoliosis occurs more frequently in people with hypermobile joints and can lead to #backpain . That means some abs/core exercises sometimes kill your back. Its not because your back is weak, or your core is not strong enough. It’s because your body, your spine, just listen to it and adjust yourself 😊.
🧘🏻♀️The process of #hypermobileyogis can be slower, weaker sometimes but our belief is stronger for sure.
There are 3 simple (but not) things I always keep in my mind (for every single poses/movements) when doing yoga - thanks to my wonderful first teacher @vivisayoga ♥️. Its hard in the beginning but our body will thank you in the long run.
1. Keep a slight bend in your joints
2. Tuck your tailbone under
3. Squeeze your muscles (yes... all of them)
🤸🏻♂️Yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory. Keep it up and what you seek is seeking you.

We are super excited to introduce @AndyCardoza21 as our FABULOUS Studio Manager! 🎉🎉🎉⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Andy is a Tucson native 🌵who has been in the health and fitness industry for over two years! He is kind, genuine, and is someone who will always bring a smile to your face. Andy got into fitness during his first year of college as a means to increase energy and decrease stress levels. He fell in love with self-health and soon worked his way into management within the fitness world! When he's not with the podSQUAD he enjoys caring for his one-year-old niece, penny, and he LOVES dogs (doodles are his favorite). #BestManagerEver
this is my typical workout lately. 2 rounds of weights followed by the elliptical. fun fact: i am horrible at committing to things outside of my home. i guess you can say i am a homebody. the best thing that works for me is having my workout equipment located near the boys play room. that way they can play while i workout. you have to do what works for you. 😘
✊🏿 Happy to represent Sunset Raw Juice Bar @sunsetrawjuicebar as my go-to for all vegan smoothies, juices, & açaí bowls.

I don't know when it started but I find myself critiquing every little part of myself. It's really hard for me to take a compliment because I never think it's true. The journey to self love has been a long one. I have to remind myself that I'm "beautifully and wonderfully made". Even during the times I am the most hard on myself, I know God is there loving every single part of me. Never be afraid to embrace your authentic self ❤️ Reflection: @ahuber16
