“It is my duty to be a good father. I will sacrifice my own energy and my own comfort for my wife and children. The only desire I have, what I deeply want, is for my family and me to live in a better home. So, our family will not be sick anymore. A place with fresh air.”

"They say anxiety is the handmaiden of modern ambition. We see so many slogans glorifying COVID warriors and the job but the anxiety and depression it brings along - no one recognises or speaks about that.
They expect doctors to be the pinnacle of perfection and more so in the current COVID times where everyone depends on doctors more than ever. The moment the pandemic was declared, honestly for me n my colleagues it was an "Avengers assemble" moment.. so without hesitating we reported to frontline like we were going to war.
But like casualties in war, we too had many mental casualties that no one realised would be so big. I am constantly at 8-12 hour shifts in the PPE battling exhaustion, dehydration, and whatnot. I could see my colleagues crying in the corner after declaring the death of a 5yr old, colleagues beaten up, I got death threats. I am used to seeing patients die on a daily basis but nothing had prepared me for this. And emotions of loneliness, anxiety, sadness, depression crept in. I used to push them aside and go about my work hoping they would disappear because again, I am a doctor first and so many people rely on me. I can't be weak. So I built a wall around me!
But my world came crashing down when my elderly parents and my sister got diagnosed with COVID. That day all my pent up emotions just burst out and I broke down crying. I really couldn't hold it in anymore. I felt very lonely and helpless, yet I put up a brave face in front of my parents while battling the constant self-doubt and anxiety of treating them.
It was in such times that my lovely friends spoke to me in-depth and reinstated my confidence. They told me that I'm not alone in this and stood by me- it warmed my heart and gave me the perspective I needed."

When women empower other women, the glass ceiling we all have experienced adds another 𝕕𝕖𝕖𝕡 𝕔𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕜 on the verge to finally be 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣.
When women empower other women, we find an inner strength and 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 to stand up for what we deserve, and not settle for anything less.

As a woman in business, I have had my fair share of moments where others may think I don’t know as much or don’t have what it takes because of my gender, but little do they know I am an empowered, fearless woman who doesn’t accept anything less than success.
Today we raise a glass in celebration to our founders birthday. He was a man with infinite ideas and passion. He filled every room he entered with joy and excitement. Cheers to Dr. Pearse Lyons and all the fond memories he shared with us all.

￮ Ártico on fire 1 ￮ 𝟯𝟴°𝗖 !!!
Meet Saloni, our August 2020 Artsy ambassador! ❤️ You can read more about her synchro story on our website (link in bio), but here some of her thoughts on a sport she loves:
« I have begun working with USA Artistic Swimming to help increase diversity within our sport, which I believe applies to a global scale as well. It is no secret that synchronized/artistic swimming, and aquatics sports as a whole is largely white-dominated and lacks diversity. [...]
When we look at discrimination and disparities, it is equally important to recognize the impact they have on young children and developing young adults, which is also the age range of most athletes. It is very easy to look at injustice and inequality and say that they only exist outside of our daily lives, but it is time for the Artistic Swimming community as a whole to recognize that this notion is false and our community members are highly impacted, which further contributes to a lack of diversity within our sport. Racism/colorism, particularly anti-blackness pervade within our sport, and we must dismantle these notions through active effort. Anti-blackness pervades in ways that we may not even realize: from appropriating Black culture in routines, to colorism in judging, to not having gel/hair provisions for Black hair, to microaggressions from athletes and coaches and families, to incorrectly color matching "nude" suits to Black girls, and many other ways. We must challenge our discomfort when it comes to speaking about race and come together in the spirit of sport.
Additionally, there is a lack of inclusion and stigma that surrounds LGBTQ athletes in our sport. The discrimination and prejudice that LGBTQ athletes, especially Black and POC LGBTQ athletes, face from teammates, coaches, and families are also incredibly traumatizing to athletes [...]
✨We must bring active effort to dismantle these notions so that individuals of all races/ethnicities, genders, and sexualities feel not only welcomed but valued and respected within Artistic Swimming ✨»
