Real Talk: I am afraid of being successful.
I am more afraid of being successful than I am of failing. When I first began this journey, my biggest fear was not being good enough, causing me to fail. It's interesting how in my head I can dream for something SO badly that I end up sabotaging it because it is out of my comfort zone.
I cannot tell you how many times today I kept getting this anxious feeling but could not figure out where it was stemming from. There was no initial cause that I could figure out. That is, until I listened to a podcast titled, "These 5 Thoughts Are Holding You Back."
Did you know that success holds just as much, if not more weight than failure itself. Especially with what could come with success. Being a bigger target, falling harder when things get difficult, more criticism, judgement, and/or public failure, etc.
It's interesting how we can tell ourselves that we are putting in the work to achieve our dream but at the same time not fully believing that we can actually achieve that goal. That self doubt hanging around, reminding us that it is there. It's uncomfortable. But, being uncomfortable can be okay, taking a leap into something unknown is how we grow into our best selves.
What would you do if all your dreams came true? Think about it.
Would you finally be happy? Or would you panic because you have no clue what do do next?

Another whipped coffee because we are celebrating! Floors are DONE! Now just ignore my tired, blistered, aching, un-pedicured feet in the photo 😉🤪
Coming from a big DIY family, this project is one of the most taxing I've ever personally done. Maybe it's because I'm super pregnant, maybe it's because I'm getting older, or maybe it really was just plain tough. But all the hard work? WORTH IT.
We decided on polished concrete for our home and we love how it turned out. Not only was it pretty cost effective and a project we could tackle ourselves, but it's the exact look we were going for. We love that modern meets industrial meets just a hint of rustic charm and these floors will be perfect!
You can check out stories for a full recap on how this project came together for us. Now we're off to tackle paint!
I am (and I cannot stress this enough) SO tired. Last night there was a protest gone bad not far from us. Our thoughts are with the ones effected! Ambulances were going crazy, and we had maybe a two hour nap. We ended up finding out Mason didnt have an infection in his joints, but he was having a severe reaction to a bite. They were guessing it was a type of spider. Labs are still off though, which again, was no surprise. We'll be meeting our team from the St Jude floor of Women's and Children's tomorrow to see if we can find out what is going on with this cell count. We are so ready for answers. #masonstrong#mamastired
The internet introduced us, but the wellness walk built the bonds that will make it through it all, even the crazy times we’re in today. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am for this #girlgang . I met these ladies in a time where I felt so lonely. Not just alone, lonely.
I had just given birth to our 2nd child and the 55 lbs gained while growing our baby girl was not coming off as quick as it did after our son was born. I wasn’t expecting that. I really struggled emotionally. And I dealt with those emotions as a first time #SAHM away from my family while my husband worked long hours. After my first kid, it took 2 weeks to bounce back to pre pregnancy pants. After baby 2, I felt as if I needed a size bigger forever. I did not feel good in the skin I was in. I know, I know, the whole “get my body back” is frowned upon by some, but that’s legit how I felt. I WANTED MY DAMN BODY BACK! I wanted to feel good. I wanted to look good.Enter this gang of go getters🙌🏻 Some of them started their businesses before me and some right around the same time. Guess what we have in common? We found a workout and nutrition program that actually gave us results in our wellness walk that we’ve made into a lifestyle years beyond our first time seeing the scale drop. I mean...30 lbs down in 3 months isn’t something to gawk at. It’s real! It’s achievable! And once you fall in love and see how much this journey can transform your life beyond weight loss, you’ll be stoked to share it with your fellow team Moms at the next baseball game. Because these ladies, this community, these workouts and nutrition plans helped take this Mom of 2 from a very lonely, secretly sad space to a positive, uplifting, I’ve got your back girl, lifelong friendship.
And right now, more than ever, I’m grateful for these ladies. The ladies that even though I’ve failed at this whole “building a morning routine” probably 10 times now, they still encourage me to simply try again. And try again I did. With them by my side. 6am workout...crushed!!! I don’t know where life is for you today, but during all of the quarantine, social distancing, and now curfews, do you feel alone or lonely?
My work day typically starts at 6am so I can get a solid block of work done before everyone else starts. My work day is normally 12 hours long. I usually work 6 days a week.
But I am tired. As the mother of a black man, I am tired. As the mother of a queer child, I am tired. As a supporter of police, who has witnessed firsthand the unfair tactics of the police, I am tired. As a human being, I am tired.
So this morning, rather than starting the day at my desk, I started with a walk in my neighborhood. Then I planted some chamomile. Then I had my first cuppa on the porch and listened to the birds. I may go really crazy and end my day at 5... #mamastired#blm#blacklivesmatter#georgefloyd#icantbreathe#coffee#mapletonfallcreek#growyourownfood
So we decided to have an adventure this afternoon. Addie and Landon were playing around. Addie was laying on the ground and Landon jumped right onto her arm. She was screaming and wouldn't move her arm. After calling the neighbors over (retired firefighters) to help me get it in a sling and then trying to let it rest for a couple hours, we decided we needed to get an x-ray. Thankfully her elbow wasn't dislocated (my first concern) and they don't see any breaks. So far they are saying it's bone bruising but she is still in a lot of pain (screaming pain) anytime we touch her arm. Prayers appreciated for the pain to go down and for a good nights rest (for everyone). For now, she will be rocking her dino sling for a few days...and she got to keep her blood pressure cuff so I guarantee that will be in her medical bag from now on.

A couple years ago I would have never never done this.
This hike today was something! Yeah I knew this would be nothing like Indiana but holy hell that was hard! Some steep parts, rocky terrain and hard to catch our breath. But damn, those views along the way and the end view was worth it. It was spectacular.
And while we were in this hike - I had some moments when I got all the feels.
For the last 4 years when I started this coaching part of my life, I worked full time and have been able to start a business from a my kitchen counter. Yes there were some long days (steep walks), built some mental toughness (rocky terrain) and times I wondered (trying time catch my breath).
Not only has coaching helped me physically keep up with my kids and helped me to stay healthy, but through all the tough parts, it’s helped me to see what I could do when I put my mind and determination towards something.
This view was spectacular today and I have to say, coaching has helped me to build something spectacular too. It’s given me so many things I needed in life and now helping me to build the life of my dreams. Feeling all the feels this Sunday.
And sis - if you ever want to check this coaching thing out, want this for you or are ready to make some changes with your health, I will help you climb that hill. And together we can look at that view at the top and crush some goals. 💗✌🏽
Mom for the Win!✨ My kids crushed this breakfast in about 2.5 seconds. Okay, maybe longer than that due to the shake, but it was gone quick.
These shakes are heath filled life savers and my kids ask for them constantly. Especially when the 4 things they asked for prior to the “Can I have a shake?” got a for sure “not an option”. Pro tip I got from a friend: I’ve always cooked bacon on the stove top. It’s stinky, messy, and I hate wiping the grease from the pan once it’s solidified.
Solution: Crank the oven to 450 and put the bacon on foil covered cookie sheets. Freaking Genius! It takes about 20 minutes for the bacon to cook and I do not flip them over. Clean up is easy peezy. Let the cookie sheets with foil still on top cool, then crumple up the foil, solidified grease safely inside, and toss it. Give the cookie sheets a quick wash and BOOM, breakfast of champions that the kids will love!!!
Heading into Sunday like...
Re-entry is tough y’all, so be sure to treat yourself when you’re feeling tired and need a pick-me-up. We’re so glad to have these goodies in-house. They’ve become our Saturday essentials as the last few weeks are taking a toll. Does anyone else feel a little more tired than usual? Remember to take care of yourself so you can take care of others. 💕
You can’t outrun your fork, but you can sunshine up a rough day.
Next time emotions are running high and you want to so badly turn to that drink or snack that brings you comfort and takes the stress away, try going for a 10 minute stroll down your street or sit outside, electronics free, and just breathe. This exercise isn’t meant to make you feel like you can’t have a drink to decompress or steer you away from those tasty treats, it’s meant to serve as a look into another option.
So much of what we do comes from what we’ve learned. Without being aware of that alternate route or option, how can we expect to do better?

These ladies 💜
They made my days easier. They made me laugh. Some of the hardest workers I know. And I’m going to miss them tremendously.
This was a super hard week to say good-bye to them and my team. I will forever be grateful for what I have learned, the people I met, the mission I served and I will be supporting them from afar every day!!
Thank you for your dearest friendship, endless laughs, kick in the pants at time, our rap readings, photo sessions, long sweaty events that made a difference & making work fun. 💗 #socialdistancesessions
Have you ever put off something because it felt too overwhelming to tackle the whole job? This concept has been brewing in my brain for awhile now. I always end consultations by asking families what they think will stand in the way of following through with their plan and frequently parents share that their child's sleep struggle feels overwhelming to them. As a coach, I can help you break down the process of change into bite-sized chunks. Each positive step forms the framework for forward motion. I can help you to prioritize the steps so that you won't feel overwhelmed, but instead, will feel empowered. Start small. Take one step forward toward your goal today. Maybe that step is creating an environment that's really conducive for sleep, maybe it's fine tuning your bedtime soothing routine, maybe it's reaching out for help. Whatever that step is, just do it. Do that one thing and build from there. Do not despise small beginnings. What action will you take today?

Chicken parmesan and green beans for dinner, with homemade naan. Naan and Italian don't really go together, but I'm really trying to nail down this flatbread thing. This was good, and definitely closer to the flatbread in Bahrain. #familymeals#naan#chickenparmesan#mamastired
Just two pictures to remind me that, even on the hard days, I’m trying. Trying to spark joy. Trying to have fun. Trying to make the most of this weird time. Just trying.
If you’re wondering how today has gone, I climbed through our second story bedroom window to get inside after the wind blew our front door shut. And when I was enjoying 5min of quiet, listening to birds and mindlessly scrolling on my phone, while Justin gave the girls a bath I heard, “mooooooooooom!!!! Help!!!! Daffy poop the bath!!! Moooooooom!!!! She poop the bath!!!!” Needless to say, I can’t wait for bedtime.

Are you a mama who loves to wear your babies 🙋🏼♀️.
Once I was able to no longer wear my kiddos out of sheer necessity, I started to really enjoy being able to wear them simply because; because having them close felt nice, because it allowed me my hands to move about and help with my other kiddo, and because it simply brought both of us joy.
Do you know the T.I.C.K.S. Guidelines for safe baby wearing?
I didn’t either with my first, so I am going to share it with you today:
✔️I-in view at all times
✔️C-close enough to kiss
✔️K-keep chin off the chest
✔️S-supported back .
Tight enough to hug your baby close to you, so that baby and you feel snug and supported.
In view at all times - you should always be able to see your baby’s face by simply glancing down. The fabric should never close around or cover their face.
Close enough to kiss - baby’s head should be close enough to your chin so that you can easily tilt your head forward to kiss it.
Keep chin off the chest - your baby’s chin should never be curled so that it is pressed against their chest. This can cause breathing and airflow restrictions. Always make sure there is at least a finger width of space between baby’s chin and chest.
Supported back- your baby should be held comfortably close so that their back is supported. Please refer to your specific carrier manual for instructions on fit, closeness, and how best to wear your baby for that particular carrier.
Will you be wearing your baby today?
No child is more talkative than one who has just been put to bed.
They suddenly become thirsty too.
Do you feel this too?

Took 3.75 kids to the doctors for the second day in a row. Why for the second day, you ask? Because when I showed up yesterday, their computer system was telling lies and said that our appointments were actually today and I was a day early 🤪. So we went back today and survived two and four year check ups, shots, and then ran 963 errands! What. A. Day. #mamastired But seriously guys, the pregnancy brain is soooo real and soooo bad the fourth time around. Anyone else?!

👉🏼 I’m 97% sure I’m coming down with the plague 👉🏼 I yelled at her twice (upping my grand total to a whopping 4 times ever ever)
👉🏼 she drove me batty, refusing to listen to one single thing
👉🏼 her falling asleep (and looking angelic again) was the best part of my day 🤣. Some days are easy, others are not. Today, I pray my hubs makes it home soon, and that we all survive this stint. 🤣 You single parents are the real MVP. #toddlerlife#mamastired
