Bless the Darkroom. Bless 120 film. Bless my Grandma Nancy, who passed away peacefully in her sleep late last night. I am so so happy I created these medium format prints in the darkroom during my sophomore year of college. Now she’s resting easy, pain-free. Your wit & humor will always stay with me, as well as your openness to people regardless of gender, sexual preference, color or class. You were always ahead of your time in that sense. I’ll be thinking of you during Quaker Meeting this Sunday in your memory.

Phase One generates stunning results for colonial cartography maps.
PhaseOne medium format digital cameras produce images with unequalled quality and provide a solution for accurate digitisation of cultural heritage artefacts. They are the camera of choice for NZMS and are often utilised for large format projects that require very high resolutions.
Working again on site at the Christchurch branch of Archives New Zealand, where an extensive selection of the maps are stored, our team were able to digitise 366 maps within the month long time frame using Phase One and NZMS custom built capture equipment.

A little out of the norm (and a touch later than expected!), a good friend of mine up-sticked and shifted on over to New Zealand recently for a life of warmth and teaching Kiwi's how to drink like a Kidderminster vet. All the best to you Aaron, I know you're smashing it down there 👍
As I’m currently waiting for rolls from the portrait shoot to be developed, I figure I would be semi-productive and finally get around to putting up my first video on YouTube. I made an effort to try and document the recent portrait shoot and give you a behind-the-scenes look of how I go about shooting. Really appreciative of all the comments about the video projects so I’m hoping this will get things into motion. If you’re interested in watching it, the link is in my profile since I’m not cool enough yet for a custom URL.

Celtic Fan. From ‘The Walk’ series, September 2019.
I’m keen to capture the diversity of Leith Walk in Edinburgh. I’ve been taking portraits on this street since May 2018 and aiming to have at least a hundred portraits I’m proud of.

Here I am, last summer, wondering why a sibling picked up my camera. This image rounds off the realization I had in the past week that there is a shared familial look my siblings (see Jordan’s portrait) and I give. It comes from my father. And it’s been passed on to my children (see the earlier photo of Merrimac). It makes me laugh to find the evidence of our shared expressions // If you are in Georgia this weekend for SlowExposures, pop by to see the new work I’m showing & I’ll try not to make this face 😘 no promises, though.
