Today I made Sukhe/ Sookhe Kala Chana and Paratha for #Breakfast . Sooke Kale Chana- A high protein vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free dish, if the meal prep is done, it ill take only 10 minutes to make the dish.
I have a sweet childhood memory with this dish.
A Marwari family used to live in our house as a tenant, and every year during Kanjak or Kanya Puja, they used to make this dish along with Halwa, Poori😊
This is how I made it today :
Heat up some vegetable oil in your preheated cooking pan.
Once the oil is hot, add Cumin seeds, julienne cut Ginger and Asafoetida. Stir for a few seconds, then reduce the heat, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder( my ratio is 2 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp cumin powder) dry mango powder, Ajwain, salt to taste.
Mix all the spices and cook for further few seconds, make sure the spice mix doesn't get burnt.
Then add boiled Black chickpea, coat the chickpeas with spice mix, then add enough water to soak the chickpea and
Over high heat let it comes to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium, cover with a lid till the liquid evaporates.
You can sprinkle Garam Masala and coriander leaves.
When you tryna be all cute but then spill your drink the next second. Swipe to see my real face 😂😂 Ps. It’s @highnesscafe’s birthday so they are doing $12 dishes and they are AMAZING!! This is only until 24th of Jan, so definitely go check it out ASAP! X
I’ve said to myself I’m going to get back on track and start eating better now Christmas is over for the past two week and it’s just not happening 😬 ⠀
No excuses but how can I say no to this burger and chips @whitebricksmentone ⠀
Maybe I’ll start next week 😉

A true Melbournian simply just doesn’t start a day without coffee! We’re here for you! ☕️ #LeMielCarlton
Super duper excited with our pre-theatre meal @butchersdiner before seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory @hmt_melb. Sure, the steak was excellent (love me the funky dry-aged edges) but the veggie sides were too awesome and I'm very big on sides. We finished up with their dessert special: a giant peanut butter ice cream sandwich (sadly I seem to have lost the picture). Excellent feed. #EatAllTheThingsMelbourne

Just when you thought I was done with Syd photos! Couldn’t resist a visit to the most instagrammable cafe in Sydney aka @socialhideout ! With quirky dishes and epic floral installations, this place truly didn’t disappoint 💐🍝 Fave dish: Bubble Gum Hotcakes 🍭
I like to think that when The Weekend sang, “I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it,” he was really serenading a bowl of spicy braised beef noodles from @beefnoodlebar.
These are the perfect level of Sichuan spice for me — on the border of discomfort, numbing my lips with a lava-like layer of oil that coats chewy, handmade noodles (I order the thicker ones) as you slurp them up through the fiery slick. Also love the liang cai here — Chinese cold dishes, like sour and spicy shredded raw potato and black fungus salad, which I reckon I could live off.
Eager to hear your favourite noodle joints. Ten points if it’s one I don’t know.

Hands up if you LOVE red bean!! 🍰 Made the most of Japanese sweet treats by eating small snacks whenever I could fit it in my stomach like this red bean pancake called "Dorayaki" from @morihachi2019 which has been in business since 1625!!! 😀 When you've had 400 years to perfect dessert, how can you go wrong 😍
HOW DO YOU START THE WEEK?! 💪
