Welcome to #hopkins . Hopkins is a #Garifuna village on the coast of the Stann Creek District in #Belize . Hopkins is considered by some #Belizeans to be the cultural center of the Garifuna population in Belize.

"Lady in reeeeeeedddd..." My #selfiegame is on point. 👌
Adding a splash of red to this chilly day on a #wednesdaywanderlust throwback of @iamsterdam at A'Dam Lookout. .
Amsterdam is truly my top 3 Euro city and I love it so much. A'Dam Lookout is a former Shell building converted for events and play and you can:
- Go #overtheedge on the highest swing in Europe. I went twice and shrieked in delight. 😄
- Sip at the World Bar on the roof deck and dine at the restaurant if you've got time and € to spare.
- Experience 5D Eye on Holland next door where you fly over major Dutch landmarks and the 5D makes you feel like you're heading into a windmill. Unmissable.
- Straddle this photo-worthy red horse and take pics of ADAM and Iamsterdam letters.
- Read interesting history of past settlements & activities in the area where gallows once stood. Potential ghost story there. 👻
Highly recommend A'Dam Lookout if you have 2 days or less to spend in Amsterdam. Take the free ferry from Centraal Station to Buiksloterweg right across the river. . #linkinbio 📱for sights to see when you have 2 days or less in Amsterdam. Save 📝📝 this post for when next your layover is in the city of canals.

Definitely didn’t set out to do what I did. I got some space to think and clear my head a bit.
So here’s me reclaiming laughter and making it an extension of me.
Kiruna was a perfect place to reset. It came with a dose of snow(always a good sign). A wonderland that didn’t disappoint.
A few facts about #Belize . It’s about the size of Massachusetts. The total population is under 400,000. And, it has a little something for everyone, from Mayan ruins, hiking, horseback riding, cave tubing/exploring, snorkeling, and scuba. Here is a view from the gazebo at @sleeping.giant.lodge
“Where’s your next trip?”
I get this question all the time now and I love it and don’t love it so much at the same time.
I’ve been so fortunate to see so many places this year. To experience different cultures and learn about the history of other countries. And I love when people tell me that they’ve enjoyed watching my travels and seeing my pictures from the places I go. I love bringing the world to everyone.
I would also love to get paid to travel but I don’t. So the truth is, traveling is not a cheap hobby and I am broke with a capital B. So for a while, my travels are here in Houston, or home to Dallas. I’ll use this time to explore my own cities and save up money until I have enough to travel again.
But don’t worry, I’ve already got plans for where I want to go next year. 2020 will bring many more adventures. So stay tuned!
Last Sunday, I did one of the most relaxing things I have ever done. I went rafting on the Martha Brae River in Jamaica.
You'll peacefully coast down this 3 mile river on a handmade bamboo raft. Although, I had to chance to paddle, the captain of our raft was the real guide. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the river and told us the famous folktale of how Martha Brae got its name (I won’t tell you because I don’t want to ruin it for you!) For my nature lovers, Martha Brae is a must on your Jamaican vacation.
“There are times, that I test your faith, 'til you think you might surrender.
Baby I'm, I'm not ashamed to say,
that my hopes were always slender
You walked by in the nick of time
looking like an answered prayer
You know I'm truly... Blessed for everything you've given me;
Blessed for all the tenderness you show;
Do my best with every breath that's in me;
Blessed to make sure you never go.” -Christina Aguilera. Reflecting on my 2019. As 2019 draws to a close, I can only think of one word to describe it: BLESSED!! It has been an incredible whirlwind year. I can barely put it into words. Where do I begin? A lovely trip to Niagara Falls. My trip to the @cntower was pretty epic. Skydiving with @skydivenewport was pretty fucking memorable. I’m still beside myself. Not to mention my trip to Morocco and our trip to South America, rounding out continent number 5. And of course, the icing on the cake, I became a Mrs!!!!!!!!!! Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!!! #adventure#wanderlust#blackandabroad#millennialtravel#wanderlust#blackttavelmovement#blacktravelguide#roadto100countries#chile#santiago#cntower#skydiving#adrenalinejunkie#foreverdavis

Music is one of the best ways to explore a new culture. I couldn’t go to Jamaica without creating a playlist that features some of my favorite reggae and dancehall hits from over the years to blast during my trip.
Click the link in the bio to listen to my playlist on Apple Music. I tried to keep it authentic but y’all know I had to throw one Beyonce song in there 🤗
2 flights. Air train. The E and 7 trains, metro North and a mother pick up. We have literally been traveling for the last 24 hours straight. But we made it. We have arrived. I tell you that one of the things I don't like about long haul flights is the lack of feeling fresh and rejuvenated. No matter how many times you brush your teeth, wash your face, whatever it might be, you still feel sticky and gross. I have yet to master the routine on how to avoid that. You are constantly around people, in a confined space. What are your tips to staying fresh on the go and with those long haul flights. #longhaul#longhaulflights#wanderlust#adventure#blackandabroad#santiago#melanintravel#millennialtravel#melaninabroad#blackgirlmagic
I haven't been too active in a while in all my platforms, mainly due to a bunch of things that I've been juggling around, and I'm trying as hard as I could to stay sane and take care of my mental health😂 but these are the things I found out this Autumn;
I used to be a seasonal depression denial until this Autumn really got to me. Don't get me wrong, it is still my favourite season of the year. It's the only season with colourful leafs, and it has (what I assume to be) my version of perfect temperature.
But then, after Post Turkey Blue, transitioning to Business school, starting a bunch of projects, getting clients after clients, long term relationship, new pawdition to the family, things started to add up, to say at the very least!
First of all, Business school is so much fun. I get to handle many projects at once, made new friends from a completely different circle (yay big cities!), met awesome leaders, and achieved access to limitless knowledge. I'm crushing it at work. Dima and I are counting months and months to our next anniversary(es). The new cat is getting himself acquainted really well and is starting to hang out with the lady lion of the house.
But then, the limit is there, y'all 😂🙌 I'm getting more and more exhausted each day. Getting a new cat is like getting a new kid, because he is a clingy one. The lady of the house also has her boundaries and regularly offends him whenever he crosses the, said, 'boundary.' Fight ensues. No sleep for the cat parents. Projects after projects, clients after clients might sound fun until you sleep 3-4 hours a day.
Are you planning a trip to Costa Rica but unsure of the activities to explore? Since it’s throwback Thursday, Let’s travel back to a time when a group of friends and family visited Manuel Antonio Park to seek out this adventure sport called Water Rappelling.
Waterfall rappelling, also known as canyoning, is one of Costa Rica’s most thrilling and popular adventure sports. The concept is simple: suit up in a harness and belay your way down a waterfall. In practice, the sport is more exciting, more fun, and everything you could ever imagine. It involves hiking, climbing and, yes, rappelling on a tour that creates memories to last a lifetime.
Are you ready? 🤩 •Ideal for: Families, couples, adventure seekers, nature lovers
•Best Time of Year: Year-round

This Mexican holiday begins today and will last through November 2nd this year. Although it only lasts a few days now, celebrations surrounding The Day of the Dead when it first started around 2,500 years ago lasted for a whole month! The holiday focuses on honoring and celebrating deceased loved ones. #mexican#dayofthedead#vacation#travel#millennials#millennialtravel#mtgllc

Instagram, meet my daughters 💗
JK, these are my little sisters (thank gawd.) They are half-Okinawan, half-Jamaican, I am half-Jamaican, half-white. You can learn more about how my dad met my Okinawan step-mom when I lived here in my IGTV episode of why I was so excited to come to Japan. But for now, know that I’m living my best Okinawan life with my little minions 👩👧👧 Aren’t they the CUTEST?
(One of the Japanese words I learned when I was a kid was “kawaii”, which means cute! I got called that a lot 💁♀️🌸)
Also fun fact, did you know Okinawa is 13+ hours ahead of the east coast of the US? That’s been a fun jet lag experience. And yes, that means it’s 9:30PM here and I’m posting this live from a bar with a Moscow Mule in my hand 🍻 Keep up real time in my IG stories 🇯🇵👘

I’ve been in Cartagena less than one day and already am obsessed and can imagine moving here (once I learn Spanish...)
Also, did I luck out on this @airbnb or what?? It only had a few pictures and 2 reviews, but the price and location were right so I went for it. Little did I know I would end up in the MOST BEAUTIFUL AIRBNB IVE EVER STAYED IN! Goes to show sometimes you have to have faith and just press the nuclear button and go for it.
You can see my IGTV and IG story for a full tour of it and a peek at the amaaaazing view it has. I have a salsa class tonight too peep my stories to watch that hilarity unfold.
Cartagena, mi gusta 🤩
P.S. The details for the Airbnb are on the Packs Light Facebook page! Also will be doing a blog piece about it, so look for that in 2019!

If the Walled City is Manhattan, Getsameni is it’s hipster Brooklyn neighbor.
Can’t you imagine some hipster with a twirled mustache sipping a $15 coffee in this alley? Luckily, Getsameni is better at staving off gentrification so far, because this coastal barrio is still inhabited in majority by locals.
Like this lovely family sitting outdoors, drinking, chatting with each other, and completely ignoring the tourist (read: me) doing it for the ‘Gram in front of them 🤪
I was told this would be the ideal place to go a self-guided street art tour. You’ll find beautiful street art murals, funky little restaraunts like the photo of Maria Bonita’s flower wall I posted a few days ago, and some art installations like this #umbrellaskyproject , done by Cartagena’s tourism board.
Walking around Getsemaní, I felt a vibe similar to the one I experienced in Richmond, VA during the summer time. Like I had walked into an unusually quiet, homey space in the bustle of the big city. No honking taxis, no vendors on the beach trying to get me to bargain over sunglasses.
Just Cartageneros living their daily life, chihuahuas barking at passerby’s through screen doors, kids playing futbol in an alley, and the smell of fresh squeezed orange juice.
Combine warm weather + good, fresh food + street art, you have just describe paradise to me 🎨🇨🇴 How about you, paradise or no?
Happy International Women’s Day!
Daily I am surrounded by strong women. I was raised by them. I am one. One day I hope to raise some. What makes these women strong? I’d say courage and confidence.
The courage to share their hearts, be vulnerable and creative! They make the world a little bit better everyday! Because strong women can imagine a better future and they take the steps to make it happen.
Then there’s Confidence, the ability to believe in ones self. A lot of my confidence comes from being proud and amazed by what my body CAN do! It CAN climb mountains. It CAN chase waterfalls. It CAN heal, emotionally and physically.
More on this later, for now.
Happy International Women’s Day!
You are beautiful, strong and worthy!
