Good news! #happysunday 🌿👇🏻
The mini washable paper bag keychains are now available at my etsy shop! 🥳 🛒
And hey, they also make a good pair with a handbag. Or accessory bag. They just like to hold on tight to somebody. 😊️💛
So, want to adopt one? 🤲🏻🥰

Sure, sure, a minimalist home is a haven of peace and refreshment where there is always exotic tea brewing and people do yoga in their sleep. 🤦 My house isn't like that. But it is simple. And mostly peaceful. But where do I actually start?
People always ask me this. You know what I say? Start at the shops. Question everything you consider buying. Stop buying cheap clothes you don't need and make do with what you have. Invest in a few quality pieces. Replace things only when they are absolutely done.
Why? Because even if you Marie-Kondo the heck out of your house, if you go to the shops tomorrow and buy it all back... Well you're no better off than when you started. So start there. Trust me, the things that you intentionally choose to still buy will be things that you LOVE for a long time.
Tell me honestly, do you wish you owned less? What's stopping you?
P O R T O . E A R R I N G S // Loving this shot by @thesafaricollective 💕💕 We tell this story all the time, but Sarah and I met years and years ago here on Instagram. She had just started a small online shop and I bought the sweetest little purply-blue mug (think pretty pastel flowers). I had the honor of watching Sarah grow her business into the incredible brick and mortar shop that it is today. Now, she buys my jewelry for the shop and I get to tell people how truly wonderful she is and how lovely it is to work with her. Plus, I still have that beautiful little mug. I’m lucky, lucky to have stories like this: of things and people who have been a part of my own journey as an artist ✨

This work probes the aesthetics of what we collect and display, and the often blurry boundaries between art and decoration. The title playfully echoes its eclectic materials and the decorator colour swatch for which it is named. Materiality is central to my practice. My work often draws attention to the overlooked, transforming vernacular materials to emphasize the interrelationships of art and life and the composite nature of perception. My use of cast-off materials also suggests alternative narratives for both the environment and the creative process.⠀
I am a graduate of Emily Carr and a long -time resident of Vancouver where I exhibit regularly and have been involved in a number of collaborative and community-based art projects. Exploring how we respond to the ordinary things that surround us has been a recurring theme in my work and mirrors my interest in both the formal qualities and cultural history of objects.⠀
