Nearing closer to moving in😊
We have put so much work in over the last few weeks. Hopefully next week we will have at least 1 toilet and a shower plumbed. The original plan was wait until full house was practically finished however that has changed given the current circumstances. We need to get in asap! So once upstairs is finished we are in, hopefully end of next week. We will then spend the summer finished downstairs. Am I mad moving in with no kitchen? Hopefully the weather will stay good and we can BBQ like our good old Sydney days😅
Railings No. 31 ✨✨✨
So excited to paint the stairs this colour. Me & my friend @megandtoms tell each other we have to BE BOLD. It’s so nice that we go through renovation together and right around the corner from each other too!
We’ve got blisters and swollen hands spending the past few days smashing it ready for the next steps towards being finished! The fireplace will be fully blocked up as we’ve decided to face away from this side of the room ✨
The house is finally finished! First little solo property development job complete. I wouldn’t recommend it with a newborn baby and having to be 4 hours away from site most of the time. But it’s done! #thedevonshire .

Swipe for before!! In this dramatic transformation of a 1920s house, our challenge sounded simple enough: integrate the kitchen into one room. Yep, that's right, the kitchen was in two rooms - stoves (one working, one not) in one room, and sink/fridge in the other. Storage was haphazard, there was no real seating area, and tons of doors/conflicting circulation from the patio and basement made life with three kids in this kitchen *very* difficult. We straightened all that out 💪with a combination of removing a few walls, closing off a door, moving the patio door, adding a small breakfast room addition, and working hard to precisely understand this family's needs. 💃 The construction process wasn't easy - there are always many surprises in an old house - but working with our friends at @rk_constructionco means we were able to solve everything as it came up, and make smart adjustments along the way. 🌟 We were about to shoot this project professionally right before COVID hit, so for now, you'll have to deal with phone photos til we can get back and shoot it for real. 🙃

Flashback Friday Part 2 - Internal ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics of an old 60s brick veneer. Transformed from old & tired to young & ready to party ☺️ #modernrenovation#hometransformation
We have fireplaces on the brain over here at Picchio...it’s turned pretty chilly here in Melbourne and quite a few of our current projects are installing their wood or gas heaters as we speak. We still Iove this one from Project Canterbury II. #keepwarm
It’s not easy making simplicity stunning, but @ethnicraft sure knows how to do it ✨ We absolutely love this photo of the Oak Bok Range by @philcohen_, but his words tho:
"When you have minimally designed pieces, it’s the small details that deserve attention and create that drama. Most of the time I think these details are so integrated that you don’t even know why you appreciate the design. It can take some time to step back and realise the subtle nuances that create that charm" 🧡
Couldn't have said it better! What do you think?
