Paired with a special made from scratch Clam Chowder, simple not too rich but fully flavourful with toothsome fresh clam pieces. All washed down with a silky smooth Zirkova Vodka and soda!!! Happy Friday!!!

Besame mucho...a signature roll that has been bringing people back for more...a sister resto in downtown Montreal makes the same roll but with a dipping sauce that is a dark soya and sweet chilli sauce. One of my favourite sushi restos in my hometown of Montréal...Aikawa was the first to do sushi pizza and their's is spectacular...pictured here is a grilled shrimp very grill tasting smokiness and a little char burn, rolled into an amazing adventure for your mouth!!! Beverage of preference for this feast.... #Hakatsuru Cold Draft Sake from Japan!!! Simply one of the very best sushi restaurants on the west side near the airport in Montreal!
This scrumptious appetizer is hazelnut encrusted brie with berry compote... Who thinks of these things? Triple yum and a creation of the talented chefs aboard Holland America's Niew Statendam...the newest ship on the seven seas!
So sometimes you have to try a new recipe. For those from Montreal you may remember The Bar B Barn! This recipe came close albeit on short ribs vs pork ribs. Baked in the oven to ensure tenderness, voluptuous little baking potatoes grilled salted and buttered until crisp on the outside and soft fluffy salted on the inside. The ribs and potatoes and a fresh picked corn on the cob roasted over live hardwood maple charcoal kissed with a flame to perfection. Short ribs, grilled potatoes bathed in butter and bbqed fresh local picked corn to make any set of taste buds ask for more! The all accompanied by a simple Barbera D'asti red wine that tempered the sweet and the smokie....life is good!!!
Real hardwood charcoal makes all the difference. All in a homemade mop sauce matching that of the world famous Bar B Barn!
If you are going to buy salt ....get Pilaros at Costco or your local grocery store. This is better than any kosher salt....lovely salty with finesse!
It's been an amazing year of travel and adventure for me. One of the coolest meals I had at Spotykatch in Kyiv! Real Chicken Kyiv in Kyiv....and as take away grabbed some ASTRONAUT food!!!!
Where in the world can you grab ASTRONAUT take out???? KYIV!!!! Borscht in a tube....they also have cocktails to go in a tube....!!!

A little post braised short rib pappardelle... TIRAMISU this was an interesting take on that wonderful cake....cake part was fresh and moist, cream was light and combined well with the cake...was unique in flavour and texture...was quite enjoyable. The biscuit part added some crunch!
(this braised dish was a little salt heavy that masked the delicate sumptious flavours of a good braise.)
Service was warm and very top notch.
Will be back for wood burning oven PIZZA....one of the few using real wood fire...the pizzas looked amazing.
