Juan Celliers, a regular at Walking with Brandon, is a young man who was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 2007.
Juan is currently working on illustrations for a new series on Word Works. WW is an early literacy program that provides resources for reading and writing.
Juan is involved in character development from concept creation through to sketching the image. The image is then to be rendered and used for books, visual aid cards and more! Next step is publication!

Victims of an MVA are automatically approved for 12 Registered Acupuncture treatments for the first 12 weeks from the date of their accident.
Acupuncture can be very helpful for common symptoms of a motor vehicle accident including effective relief of pain and tension, calming the nervous system in cases of post-traumatic stress, helping expedite healing of post-concussion symptoms and much more.
Additional treatment is available beyond your initial treatment and is approved by your adjuster based on medical need.
This FB memory is a nice segue into something I've been pondering about sharing. Oh the irony of those words as well. You'll understand...... After that post in 2010 I entered an abusive and manipulative relationship, that kicked off one heck of a beautifully broken decade. Over the last 10 years I have mourned the death of one too many loved ones, experienced extreme betrayal from people I held dear, lost my house and business that I worked so hard for and moved more times than I can count. I switched careers to end up being harrassed and bullied daily in a high demand position (while unknowingly being poisoned in a moldy office), lost 2 amazing furkids, one that battled lymphoma for 19 months through a heavy cancer regiment, suffered a horrific miscarriage while battling fertility issues and then had major surgery to remove a 18cm fibroid tumour from my uterus. My hubby (fiance really, but it's been 7.5 yrs ) ended up in a life altering car accident, with zero income and needing to change professions. I went on a unpaid medical leave which has resulted in 2 lawsuits, while battling an unknown and misdiagnosed illness since 2015. AND I became an Alzheimer's daughter.
I've powered through, even the many dark days that I didn't think I would survive, and I don't say that lightly. I have lost my ego and returned to my truth along the way. I now live with purpose of love, compassion for self and others, deep understanding of loss, living with grief and knowing the true importance of living in the moment and not sweating the small stuff.
Throughout all of this, I've gained some powerful insight. We are all warriors inside, sometimes we lose our way and need some guidance. I'm not letting my diagnosis win nor am I sitting in silence or shame any longer.
I'm sharing because I want you to know that we truly have the power to overcome. Get out of your head, be present. Go with the FLOW. Being in victim state will only chew you apart. Your thoughts need to be loving for you to heal. There are lessons in the trauma and tragedies. If I can do this, believe me when I say ..... so can you!
My mentor said, “Let’s go do it,” not ‘You go do it.’ It’s powerful when someone says, “Let’s!” It’s never been an I in this team when it comes to servicing the community. #Chiropractor#MotorVehicleAccident#Wellness
I’m on my feet! ...well, on my foot, anyway!!
I am now able to use my walker (I’m suddenly an 89-year-old woman) to get around a little bit on my own and WITHOUT a gait belt (basically a leash/harness that someone holds while I walk/sit/stand to help make sure I don’t fall)
I cannot bear any weight on my left leg, which will remain the case for about 3 months, but at least that gives my upper body an opportunity to get stronger and my right quad as well from basically pistol squatting all day to sit/stand! You’ve gotta work with what you’ve got 😂
I have a follow-up appointment with my surgeon tomorrow ...which means a 5-hour trip in the car for the day 😬. It’s going to be a rough and painful ride with the pelvic fixator but hopefully I’ll get good news and will get a date set for my next (hopefully last) operation
Two of my beautiful friends mailed me a care package with a bunch of fun things including this gorgeous linen robe. I was so stoked that it fits over this serious metal (🤘🏻) hardware that is sticking out of my hips!! Continually overwhelmed by the people in my life and the support I’ve received so far along the way. Brings me to tears with gratitude. 😭 I love my people. Seriously. 🖤⚔️
