Photography is an art of observation to me. It's about finding something unique in an extraordinary place. I think it has not much to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. At the end this tiny river is just a usual mountain river. But with the right imagination and perspective a "normal" river can turn into something really magical.
When I was hiking next to this river I did not pay much attention to it. But when I hiked further and saw it from a different perspective I saw the potential and beauty of this tiny river. During blue hour I hiked back to the river and tried to capture the image I had in my mind. And here is the result.
This river has shown me that it's always worth it to take a second look from a different perspective. It can change the whole game. 🙃

There is something about the elements...
The way the earth has come together.
Somehow this place is perfect, a mixture of water, breathable gases, and even the gravity which holds us firmly to our home.
But it's undeniable that Mother Nature needs us right now just as much as we need her.

Hear me out, obviously self care is not dumb. But the trend around self-care is kind of dumb.
Self-care should be a right for everyone. Taking care of yourself in the form of exercise, intuitive eating, drinking water, simplifying your home, saying no to people and things that doesn’t serve you, and doing all the freaking things that make you feel good without anyone else’s permission.
That’s right girl. Stop looking to other people to give you approval to take care of yourself!
Sometimes self-care means a bubble bath. But sometimes it means sitting on the dang chair enjoying a coffee and watching the kids play, or other times a afternoon nap, or making sure you are eating a healthy lunch and not just the kids crust, reading, listening to a podcast while folding laundry, or making out with your spouse.
If you find it hard to MAKE time for yourself, I think it’s a great opportunity to look into why you feel this way? And HOW you can create space in your day for you.
A few of my faves;
•mornings - y’all know I’m a huge advocate to spend some mama morning time before the kids wake up. It has changed me as a mama and person.
•Schedule it. Why not? If you like to schedule things, schedule time for yourself!
•Mom-Cracks. Look for all the mom-cracks in your day when the kids are watching a show, or napping - do something for you! A cup of tea and sitting for 5 min can be just what you need.
•Boundaries + Prioritizing. These are my faves to help mamas with. Step up to your own pate and take some ownership girl with boundaries and knowing your priorities. YOU are important - so show up as an important person in your life!
Create boundaries and protect yourself from all the things being thrown at you all the time. Ask for help, and never apologize for needing to take care of your body, mind and space you live in.
You matter friend. ♡︎
Ps. We are heading out for a few days to the mountains again. See y’all when we get back! ❤️
