Are you in your head over your training or your health?
If you are, fight to over come that. Change your thoughts. Change the things you say to yourself and about yourself.
Redirect your focus. Look at what’s not going right and decide whether or not you know how to fix it. If you don’t, find someone who can help you. If you do know how to fix it, then realize you have the power to overcome and change the outcome. You have to choose different thoughts and different actions.
This work might be harder than any lift, exercise or drill. Thoughts get grooved into your psyche just as movement patterns are grooved neurally and physiologically. The longer you wait to address it, the deeper the groove.
If you’ve ever pulled yourself out of a mindset that didn’t serve you well, if you’ve ever changed how you think or if you’ve ever done the work to get out of your head then you know how hard it is to do just that. Lead by Coach Natalie Anson, this class introduces the core skills, concepts and movement patterns that form the basis of all parkour practice. Everyone is welcome, no matter your background, experience of level of fitness/ability.
This class is a great way to springboard into our regular outdoor and indoor Parkour Classes at the Academy and across London.

First time with this variation of natarajasana😰⠀
Just want to note that this was taken after about an hour of warming up with different shoulder and hip opening stretches. These kind of deep back bends can be dangerous without it and without the guidance of a teacher who can align you properly (which is why this is the first time I’m trying this pose). If you are someone who naturally has more of a flexible back, it’s important to be even more careful and focus on a lot of strengthening exercises. This is so you don’t force your body into a crazy deep pose with compression on your lower back🙏

“The Forgotten” this piece choreographed by @lauren_calart has challenged me in my utmost strength in movement technique ability. It took me out of my comfort and all I knew, and trying to find my niche in dancing has been very challenging because I want to do it all. I was extremely happy with my performance in this piece. I scored Platinum @hollywoodvibe and just shy away from a Hollywood Vibe score. As dancers we go through ups and downs even thinking that if “we place Top 5” that makes us better dancers, but that is Not the case. We are competing against ourselves not anyone else. After hearing my judges critiques over and over and how incredible this piece was on me and giving me constructive criticism all it did was boost my confidence to work harder. I also received a scholarship! Thank you @hollywoodvibe and all the staff! It’s an instructors job to know the stimulus of a session. (Aka what you are supposed to accomplish)
HIIT is the antithesis of this. It’s unscalable, unable to be properly progressed, unorganized and has no foundation. Essentially you are standing on a trap door and hoping no one will push the button to put you under. (Whether that’s from injury, or when you aren’t seeing results anymore)
HIIT lives off the humans innate ability to adapt within the first year of learning. Without it, HIIT wouldn’t exist. When someone steps into the door at a gym for the first time, it often times doesn’t matter what they do, they will see results. That’s why as a practitioner it’s important for me to give people the information necessary to stay away from places built on this. You won’t see this until a year or more in, but when you do it hits hard.

What does it mean to be truly mindful?
We can often get trapped in replaying the past or dreaming about what may or may not happen in the future, taking our concentration away from the present moment. By practicing mindfulness techniques we can learn how to draw all of our attention on what is happening right now, allowing us to get the best out of everything we do!
We are going to spend the afternoon exploring mindfulness through movement, meditation, concentration practices and breath awareness. This is an opportunity to slow everything down and tune into the here and now. To book click the event page link @mangomanmovment bio.
BIG TOE EXTENSION

Toe extension can be an important component in the treatment of different injuries, as well as for performance.
In rehab, it is a key part in the treatment of plantar fasciitis. When our toe extends- such as in the latter part of walking or running- our arch will rise and we experience an increase tensile strain on the plantar fascia.
Over time we want to induce resilience of the tissue and increase its capacity for load. This can be done through exercise like the heel raise shown above.
For active toe movement, we can implement exercises like toe yoga above. This will work on control and strength of the toes.
And finally, exercises placing our toes into extension (like planks) won’t increase capacity, but rather help improve range of motion.
