𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙙𝙖𝙨𝙨.....This is the only thing I was thinking when we were biking the brand new Maricopa Trail at the Usery Mountain Regional Park. It had rained so bad 2 days before that the ground was wet, the sand was thick, going down the trail was amazing for my first time on a mountain bike.
There was an added factor of adrenaline because if I didn't watch where I was going, hit the sand washes incorrectly then I could fly into a cholla cactus!
Going back up the trail was a bit of a challenge for me though, it was a steady climb and the sand washes were a little more brutal - especially since I had just hiked the wind cave trail (5 min away) that is rated moderate on All Trails and gains 880 ft in elevation in a 1/4 mile.
You wouldn't think that Mesa Arizona would have so many mountains, elevation gains, mountain biking, and outdoor adventure - but honestly - I couldn't have picked a better place to try out Mountain biking for the first time!
