Happy New Year to all our members and all those beautiful people who have supported us and been part of the open home library project. We are fortunate to have received so much love, so many books and most importantly, so much of your time. Yesterday we met Subodh Kerkar who was kind enough to give us one of his books to add to our collection and to spend time with us chatting about Goa, life, art and access. He’s involved in some amazing initiatives to make art accessible in a way similar to how we want to give more children access to a world of books and ideas. 2019 marked the start of our journey and we hope that 2020 is a year of spreading book goodness to as many members as we possibly can in our open home.... @subodhkerkar#museumofgoa#donateabook#communitylibrary#freelibrary#libraryactivism#literacy#openhomelibraryproject
Can you guess what's the background decoration made up of?

Yes, it's single use water bottle.
Happy to see that these bottles found some reason to rest in peace.. :)

Yes that is exactly what it looks like. It’s bread as an art installation. Absolutely love visiting @museumofgoa and indulge into some quality contemporary art works.
If you’re in North Goa you must visit this place and also pick up some artworks as they have the affordable art festival going on currently.
Also made it to the Goa Newspapers 😇❤️😍 swipe to see more. .
PS: This is not real bread, of course it’s a replica made out of FRP or similar material. I would love to buy this someday. ❤️🌸
I'm super excited to share that one of my artworks got selected for the @affordableartfest , which is happening from 14th Dec to 14th Feb at @museumofgoa , along with other amazing and super talented artists ! 😁🥳
What's interesting about Goa is how this former Portuguese colony has maintained its identity inspite it being the melting pot of so many cultures. When in Goa, one comes across a person from every single state of India and a person from almost every country on the planet. From simple beach side shacks to exotic 5 star hotels, there's something for every taste and pocket.
It's natural beauty is as diverse as its cultural beauty, from the lush green hills with winding roads to the countless sandy beaches, one has it all.
As tourists we were privileged enough to have a local friend take us around, to see its numerous churches and beaches. We also spent an evening @beanmeup.goa and thoroughly enjoyed their vegan food.
Another place that was worth a mention was @museumofgoa a contemporary art gallery in Saligaon by artist, sculptor and painter Subodh Kerkar. "MOG i.e. Museum of Goa"🤩 @museumofgoa
The Museum shows the finest contemporary art from around the world and from Goa. The Museum, founded by the goan artist @subodhkerkar in 2015, has a very unique collection of art exhibited here and each has an interesting story behind it. 💟 #destination_wow

Luxury for me isn't the hot tub, but the hot springs in the mountains in Greece
Luxury for me isn't the fancy meal and wine but the local fish & brewed beer in Kampot, Cambodia
Luxury for me isn't the skyscrapers but the tiny wooden huts in the Himalayas
Luxury for me isn't the huge Airbnb but the roof of that Airbnb where I can fall asleep counting stars all night.
Luxury for me isn't floating breakfasts in the infinity pool, but swimming with dolphins in the ocean in Gokarna
Luxury for me is experiences so authentic & real that they take my breath away.
It's that walk on the beach, that first kiss from the waves on my feet, that cute dog I can't stop cuddling, the full moon & the tides, the clear water on a sunny day, the fresh air in the mountains, the taste of water from a glacier, the freshly squeezed juice from apples I picked myself, the tanlines & the cuts and bruises, the fruits from different corners of the world, the smell of the flora, the sound of chaos & the sound of calmness coexisting in harmony, almost like music. I could go on forever
I think I wanna spend the rest of my life chasing these moments around the world; one city, island, mountain, valley & village at a time. Doesn't that sound perfect?

As I get older, it becomes more and more obvious to me that all things happen for a reason, because all things are interconnected. Sometimes the connections are obvious, like losing a job and finding a better one. Sometimes the connections are less obvious, like several people being injured or killed in a crash, and the survivors’ lives changing in ways they never imagined, meeting new people, discovering new paths, influencing other people in turn. Every event is like a ripple moving through the fluid of reality, affecting everyone in the vicinity, and sometimes affecting people thousands or millions of kilometers away.
The universe moves in predictable, mathematical ways, even though many events are unpredictable in and of themselves. The causes of events are often seemingly random, but their effects are easier to identify, once you know what to look for. Everything happens for a reason, and usually the reasons make mathematical sense. If you can’t see the reason, it doesn’t mean it’s not there, it just means that you haven’t connected all the dots.
I’m looking forward to connecting more dots so it becomes clearer to me. I just hope I have enough time & perspective to see the bigger picture for what it really is.
