For the coffee grinder in this shot is the statement piece for me. It's many years old and it was my dads. He used to let me grind the coffee beans when I was a young girl. I still do it to this day! ☕☕☕ Have a great Monday where ever you be xx
HIDDEN - Our rarely spotted kitchen, rare because it’s generally a dumping ground for muddy dog accessories, odd socks, tumble weeds and general junk. One ‘tip’ I hate hearing is to paint small, low light rooms in pale or bright colours to make them look bigger and brighter. In fact the opposite is true, painted white this room just screamed dingy and it actually highlighted how small it was. But black, black made it inviting, black made it cool and moody, black made it a place I want to spend time in. It also hides the wood-chip pretty well too! Tell me do you break or follow designs rules? 🐆🐆🐆
Lovely evening sunshine whilst I give the cabinet a little switch up to see the new works together. The simple things can bring a lot of joy in the midst of so much uncertainty don’t you think?! Hope you had a day of some simple joys.
Yesterday the CA governor approved Orange County’s request to begin phase 2 for businesses to open. I’m extremely relieved that I’m safe to venture out a bit more. It’s time to head out to my client projects and show you the amazing work that’s been done! Yay!🙌
At the same time, I’m also experiencing a mixed bag of emotions about going outside after so many weeks home with nearly zero contact with others.🥴
After much deep breathing, I remembered what I used to teach my therapy clients. I figure if I’m going through this, you might be as well.☺️
Here are some tools to combat fears:
1. Acknowledge what you’re feeling is NORMAL. You’re not crazy. Make list of feelings you’re going through to flush it out. Don’t hold things in.
2. Come back to your breathing. Do find yourself holding your breath alot? If I pay attention to myself, I am so surprised at how tense my shoulders are and how I hold in my breath alot. Invite fresh air into your lungs by breathing in deeply through your nose from your belly button and superficially from your mouth. Then hold for 3 seconds and exhale slowly and end with a loud audible SIGH.
3. After flushing out your feelings, make an actionable plan. Think of ways to control what you can, and exhale the things you can’t.
I hope you are all enjoying the wonderful long weekend. Remember you are way stronger than you think you are. I BELIEVE IN YOU!👊🏻 #AYMethod

Our bedroom at sunset is made even more heavenly by the addition of these roses from the garden that smell like sweet sherbet.
We’ve finally fitted brass knobs to the replacement cupboard doors our joiner made, I’d already replaced the knobs on the cabinets. Very pleased with how it all ties together.
Not a mm of black in the bedroom. Pale and airy = my dream sleep scene, would you agree? 🤍
I really must start planning my posts in advance, for yesterday’s prompt, I posted a picture of my bedside 🙄 So here’s The Sleep Thief’s bedside instead. Every night, we have the same routine; bath, quick dry of her top half before she legs it, squeezes herself into this gap, where I wrestle her arms into her vest and sleep suit, whilst she plays with the little vintage dolls, that belonged to my Mum. I think they might be tree decorations as they have hanging strings on the back. They’re mucky, tatty and covered in glue, but I love them, and Esmé seems to like them too. Anyway, back to the bedtime routine - she’s then got the have her crown on, before she lays down with her milk. This is my opportunity to get the bottom half dried and nappy on, before teeth and a story. Talk about high maintenance! 🙈 •
No os engaño, hace como un año que tengo los listones y el espejo para hacer este diy ...🙄 hoy ha sido el gran dia 😂 también os pasa?? tambien os digo que ya que estaba he hecho alguna cosita mas, ya os enseñaré 😬
Feliz semana ❤️

Ways I know how to cheer myself up in lockdown: put some garden flowers in a vase and wear a pink floaty dress 🥰💕 I have made a conscious effort not to talk about lockdown etc up till now .. but some days are better than others eh? How are you all doing?? Sending 💕 to anyone who needs it. And please feel free to share your tips on how to cheer yourself up in the comments 🙌🏻😄 (you can say wine if you like, I’m right with you 🤣) #lottieandalbert x
This is the last time you see our dining table this way around. After posting about it yesterday thinking about replacing the chairs with benches I have realised I own a perfect bench already. So by moving the table along the window seat I have saved myself a few pennies and now the chairs are staying too. I'm currently in the process of sanding them down. The plan was to paint them beige to tone the kitchen down a little (it's definitely full of pattern and colour) but after sanding down the first one I discovered the wood is the most beautiful shade matching the table beautifully.
I can't wait to show you our transformed dining area! Altough I might be a while, removing all the paint seems to be a little harder than I anticipated.
Happy Sunday all! I had a huge garden centre haul yesterday and have spent most of the day faffing with plants. Plants are quickly becoming my new lockdown hobby, even if my husband tells me it's just more 'clutter'. Plants aren't 'clutter' are they?! He has no clue 😂
Loving all of the new blooms appearing in the garden, every day something new appears 🌸
JUST BECAUSE it looks like gin o’clock doesn’t mean it is, it’s an old pic as we’ve been too busy decorating today to take a new one. It’s Sunday so my body is a booze free temple once again. 🙄 I’m only allowing alcohol on Friday and Saturdays these days because lockdown was becoming a week long party. Last Sunday I closed the bar and my hips will thank me for it in the long run. Pray for me tomorrow morning though when I climb onto the sad step. Because if it’s not good news the bar will probably be reopened again 😂 .
Good evening you gorgeous lot ✨
We did f*** all today, apart from going for a lovely evening stroll. How about you?
Isn’t it so nice to see the clear blue skies back again? ☀️ .
My turn to make dinner, so salad it is 😂
I love how bright our dinning room looks with the evening sun shining through and the fact that our dinning table is clear of crap that we somehow accumulate within minutes of clearing it 😫 .
Day 24 @myhousethismonth#whimsical .
Stay safe x

Bank Holiday Weekend
Hope you’re all having a fab one! I’m usually throwing a tantrum at this time on a Sunday knowing I’m back at work tomorrow but today is like my Friday as I have another 2 days off! Buzzing 😆 I’ve done a bit of shopping today and Mr G has been pottering about in the garden so tomorrow is dedicated to shedding this pasty skin like a snake and stepping out of the weekend looking like Kim Kardashain 🤣 well the tan anyway, I’m working on the butt 🙊
If you saw my story you will know I’m rammed full of Sunday lunch (plus seconds) so I’m off for a Nanna nap and when I wake up I’ll be snuffling round the kitchen for some afters 🐷
Here’s the bedroom which I haven’t shown for a while - before lockdown we planned to sand these floorboards and restain or paint them a different colour. That’s on hold now but can’t wait wait to get it done 🙈
Day 24 @mynortheasthome
At my bedside
Sorry guys! I’ve been so quiet this weekend 🙈 I’ve been working on a little project which I can’t wait to show you all. But this will be tomorrow, maybe middle of the week, It’s taking longer than I thought!
The Sun has eventually reappeared here so I’m going to go outside with a gin and tonic and enjoy the last of the sunshine. Who’s looking forward to a nice day tomorrow? I can’t wait! 🙌🏼☀️🥂
Happy Sunday everyone 💛🤍 I finally have the house back in order now after being unwell, finally going back to work this week #NHS How has everyone been? I’ve missed interacting with everyone 💛🤍 it’s been a long recovery but finally getting there. Be safe 🤍 social distance 🤍
#mynortheasthome bedside. Fun fact, because of the shape of our room we technically don’t have ‘bedside’ tables anymore! On another note, has anyone finished Normal People? We flew through the TV show but I’m finding the book harder to get in to ☹️📚
So how’s your Sunday going? still windy up here so we just ate our body weight in a Sunday roast ( with mint sauce, my stories will explain that one 😉 ) There’s nothing left to do now but light my new Aldi candle ( smells delicious) and settle down for a night in in front of the box ... just for a change ha! Have a lovely evening whatever you get up to 🍿💋

J U S T B E C A U S E We made a few wee updates to the gallery wall because well, we don't have much else to do 🌚 this beautiful new mermaid addition is an original piece by @racheljane.art I used to work with Rachel and she's one of the most talented artists out there 🧜♀️ One of the reasons we chose this house was the period features. We'd always dreamed of high ceilings, cornices and ceiling roses and sometimes can't believe we now own a home like this 🖤

W H A T D A Y I S I T? Time, days and even months now have zero meaning 💀 how is it nearly June? How am I 33 this year? How has it been 8 months since we moved in here? Clearly I have a lot on my mind so here's a shot showing off our best buy ever ever ever to remind me and you to chill out and breathe (and swear if you need to)💡 We wanted to show off the alcove in the daylight with no lights on so you can see the details 🖤 we're gearing up for another weekend of Zoom chats with friends and a wine or 5.
