Snapped this quickly this morning when we had some beautiful Autumn sunshine. We had the best time with our friends last night 🥂so I’m looking forward to jumping in here at a more respectable hour this evening 😴 Since the lovely Chloe @_maple_house told me Mother-in- Laws Tongue 🌿🍃🌿is known to aid a good nights sleep mine has become the perfect finishing touch to my bedside table.
Hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday 😘
I just couldn’t resist making this simple yet effective Christmas star having seen Rasa make hers @tiffyandflow do check out her page for better instructions! 😁
I used 8 gift bags, cut them to a point and glued them one one top of another. Rasa cut hers at the end, but the gift bags are too thick to cut in bulk. I hot glued mine, fanned them out and violá! Not forgetting to glue the last 2 bags together! I’ll pop pics up on stories!
How fabulous is this! ⭐️ .
Day 17 storyofmyhome Finishing Touch
I’ve finally ordered the wallpaper to go above the fireplace which I think will be the perfect finishing touch 🤓
A very fun girls’ weekend has been had - plenty of sherries and fab nosh. Had a wonder around Oxford Street and manage to bag a couple of Jonathan Adler goodies at @hmhome! Would also recommend @_5social for a great lunchtime escape from the madding crowds 👌
What’s for tea? 🍽 if you have the pleasure of befriending me, I’m sure you’ve been asked this on a nigh on daily basis 😬 bloody love talking about food! Tonight we’re on homemade mince & onion pie, roasties, carrots, peas & broccoli. And gravy. Obvs. Tell me what’s on your menu tonight? I’d say I’d use it as inspo for the week but I’ve actually planned the next 7 days! So I’ll rob your ideas for the week after. How does this relate to the picture?? Well... it’s Rex’s room. And when tea’s ready we shout, “T REX” & well, that’s just the whole reason we named him so 😆😍
✖️ lots of lust ✖️ .
And why not.... 😂
Not interiors one bit... Maybe the chair!.
I think lola is have a fabulous slumber time... Dreaming of bones!!. .
I really think she looks like she’s had one two many.....!!!!.
Lil' progress shot of the living room today. Do people like progress photos?! I do, I think it's fun to see everyone's crazy reno and decorating journeys! This will end up alot darker but we decided to save black for the bedroom in this house - no regrets on that decision 🖤
When we moved in I wanted to paint these doors as there was soooooo much varnished wood in the house.
Now we’re done decorating (sort of, ish 😂) I think the original bare pine looks nice and soft against the colours in the house.
As soon we began the process of ‘un-browning’ the house I knew that the doors should be the only bare wood in the hallway 😍
What do you think? Do you love original features or all you all about out with the old and in with the new?
¥ shelves ¥
I can finally display my lovely treasures 🖤
Ze hangen, mijn schabben zeggen ze in België, vertaling voor jullie Nederlanders: wandplanken. Super happy me.
Ps: swipe for video 😉
To nieprawda!

@myhousethismonth day 17
You can always find this one snuggled up in a cosy corner somewhere 😻 have to admit on a Sunday I can’t wait to climb into the land of slumber after a busy weekend 😴
I am ever so pleased to reveal the freshly painted walls of our dinning room. I have used Autentico paints for this project in Paris white . I first painted the walls with the Autentico velvet paint and then used the Volterra mineral texture paint to give this old look. The walls were covered with a very old textured wallpaper which was painted many times and I was really worried that it might not work out but the results are amazing. I will be posting a story on how it was done the next week or so so watching this space. Last but not least I would love to thank @deecampling for the inspiration.

▪️ CHEAP LABOUR ▪️ doing all the jobs I don’t like 🤣👏🏼
I rarely show my face on the grid, so here is me surrounded by our daily mess and some info about me for you lovely new followers 💛 I live in West Yorkshire with my partner, two boys and two cats in a small, narrow terraced house. 💛 I was born in London but I grew up between there, Scotland, France and mostly Spain. At 18 I moved to Manchester and made a home there for nearly fifteen years (minus a two year interlude in the south of France). 💛 I have another account @java_finds where I host a monthly vintage sale. I used to do portobello market with my mum when I was little and when we lived in France I opened an Etsy shop selling vintage pieces I found in french junk shops.
I am obsessed with old objects, it’s one of my favourite ways of travelling through time. 💛 My mum is an artist and interior designer (amongst many other things) I grew up working as her assistant on interior jobs, learning about space, light and colour. 💛 My maternal family are all artists, as was my paternal grandfather. Anything I learned about drawing I picked up from them and by spending hours and hours drawing the detailed insides of hobbit homes and complicated party scenes. 💛 My favourite film is ‘Four Weddings and a Funeral’ and my favourite xmas film is ‘Peter’s Friends’. I think I’m perversely fascinated by groups of posh British people.
Please tell me about you! 💛

I know it may be ‘too soon’ but I couldn’t resist picking this up yesterday in @tkmaxxuk when I saw it ✨⭐️💫 I’m starting to feel the festive bug already 🎄
Scotland seems to have been plunged into murky, freezing darkness. There’s very little natural light managing to make itself heard in the house now. With that in mind, I’m so lucky to have found my big red ball of dreams light fitting. Some (probably no-one) will remember my harrowing tale of finding this, and then having it arrived smashed to smithereens. So, my Sunday words of wisdom are: ‘Never give up hope. eBay will always find a way.’
Or, if you prefer:
‘Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Welcome to your new home...Reggie❤️ ( #regontherow )
Day 17 // Slumber Time - well something tells me there’s not going to be too much sleep over the next few nights with the arrival of little Reggie. But we don’t care because we are absolutely besotted with him already. He’s been exploring his new home, taking in all the new sights, sounds and smells. And having his first wee play with his toys. It’s hard work being a pup! Hope you’re all having a wonderful Sunday 💞
Happy Sunday friends! I hope you have all had a fantastic weekend doing whatever brings you joy. I rested and took photos yesterday of this beautiful but simple basket wall.
So I have admired basket walls for two now. I have see. Them on @pinterest , @instagram@arrowsandbow@themindfulhaven and absolutely love them. However I didn’t think I could afford one, until my friend Danielle from the mindful haven showed she gets her baskets at GoodWill. So last week I hit up the DAV thrift store and got baskets for $.98 to $1.98! #BAMWHAT That’s what I am talking about, DIY decor on a dime.
My goal with this account is to teach everyone who wants to know that you can renovate a room, do a room refresh or decorate your home on a dime budget! •
If you’ve been following me along in my stories the last two months, you’ve seen a lot of this view.. what used to be a skinny post and plain wall now is a focal feature, a storage unit (drawers add functionality for toys, blankets, and shoes to be hidden away), and square footage (removing more of the wall extends the eye’s view and creates the illusion the living room is larger). Although this project was grueling at times, I am so grateful for the many ways I have grown. I have gained greater patience, greater knowledge, and greater confidence in myself (you are all to thank for that- I feel so loved). A few of you have asked how I learned how to do this. Or you have expressed how you wish you could do something like this. And I want you to know: a year ago, I knew how to hammer a nail into the wall to hang frames and that was the extent of my knowledge. But then I discovered amazing individuals on Instagram and YouTube who were TEACHING (I’ve tagged those accounts in my post so you can learn from them too). And a fire of passion and a desire to learn lit inside me. I’ve stopped telling myself “I can’t” and I’ve started to TRY, and that has made all the difference. This is why I’m here on Instagram. I want to give something for all I’ve been given. I want to TEACH. I want anyone who felt how I did (small, insignificant, incapable) to know that you are capable of GREATNESS. I am so grateful for all of you! 💕 please send me any questions or feedback on how I can do a better job of teaching in the future!
If you missed this process, you can find tutorials in my highlights.

Well it was a quiet day for us yesterday, my daughter seems to have caught the lurgy from school so we stayed home and she went to bed 🙁 🤒
On the bright side I got my Christmas wreath done - well one of them. I’m planning on one for the front door and another for above the fireplace in the lounge. Yesterday was the turn of the front door one, so here it is.
I wanted the two wreaths to be quite different in theme, so this one is a more “nature” themed one and the other, well more glittery 😁
Let me know what you think and I will try and upload a video how I did it. If I can, anyone can!
Before and after bathroom remodel 🖤🛁 getting some shelves to fill that gap on the wall and one day I will paint or wallpaper in here. Something quite bold.
I sent the other half to sleep in the loft bedroom last night after he’d been out for a few pints so I could have a full night sleep without any snoring for ONCE and what happens? Harry wakes up 3 times. Give me strength 😫 banging headache now. Going to sweary embroidery workshop this morning with Rach and Louise (@runcis_at_no9 & @virabi_towers ) and I feel it will be particularly sweary on my part! Happy Saturday!
We had a little sleep in this morning! The secret...the older two had a sleepover in my eldest’s room....so they were giggling and chatting to each other instead of their usual trek in to our room! So really we were fixing listening to them chattering which was lovely!
The rain is back this morning but it’s been a bright start here. Here is our master bedroom...few posts of this recently sorry! I would say the finishing touches @storyofmyhome were the sheepskin and the gold monstera leaf on the wall. I spotted the latter on an insta account or two and bought it from ETSY. I’m buying more and more things from here it’s brilliant!
So last night was spent drinking wine in the park, watching Santa being pulled about by a small camper van and watching a man struggling to get his foam spraying nozzle working properly. The poor thing, it was just dribbling when he wanted to be spraying 😉😂 Hols and I had a minor disagreement because I wouldn't let her go on Hook a Duck (bearing in mind I said she could if she spent her own money, which she didn't want to do) and it rained, but we had a good time despite this!
It's another wet day here today - this spot is looking rather tempting!
Hope you've got something lovely planned? Whatever you're doing, have a fab day xx
