You guys, today was a blast! My little cousin bought her first house ... and today we helped make it feel like home!
These days I feel like every free moment I have involves painting and shockingly, I LOVE it! This wall I painted in our great room made such a statement and I can honestly say it may be my favorite risk taken in our home to date!
For the real fun, who wants to see the worst paint decision I’ve made lately? Took a chance on something in our dining room and it was a huge fail...should I share with you guys (likely via stories) tomorrow, what didn’t work haha?!? It really flopped 🤦🏼♀️
I put jeans on at 7am because it’s Friday. I immediately felt 100% more productive 😂 the jungle is officially gone in our bathroom and all my plants are back in their homes. Sharing more details on my go-to plants in today’s Friday Five post on houseonlongwoodlane.com 🌱 Plus, 15 dresser options for the master bedroom, our favorite at home DIY projects — and more! Flashing back to circa 2018 when I used spray paint, epoxy and a torch to make a wooden tabletop look like marble.
Should I make a tutorial on the process?
You know you’re officially grown up when you get insanely giddy about outdoor furniture!
But honestly...I about keeled over when these beauties were delivered! #sponsored ...we have such a great setup in our backyard with the pond back here, but as I’ve mentioned in the past, our outdoor dining set was nothing to write home about. We had plastic chairs that were functional, but not comfortable! But these @article outdoor pieces take comfort to another level 🙌🏽
Now for the real question... who wants to come have a glass of wine with me back here?!? We’ll sit 6 feet apart I promise 😉🙃
Welcome to the jungle, well sort of? Any other closet plant moms out there? Or trying to be? Holla at yo’ girl 👋🏽 After sharing where we do #waterwednesday in our house there were lots of the same questions so I figured we could chat about it here!
1. You have no shower door or curtain?!
That’s a negative Nancy and it’s amazing 😉
2. How does Cody not like to shower with plants?
Because he doesn’t like to feel like he’s showering in the tropics, it’s fine though. He’ll like it as I gradually leave one plant in there after #waterwedneaday 😂
3. Sources for tile, tub, vanity, light errthang?
Peep stories for the top requests 👌🏽 4. Why would you lug all of your plants in here to water them?
It’s A LOT easier to water them thoroughly and drain properly. Showers are for showering and watering plants 🌱 🚿 .
You know you’re getting old when you are far too excited about your new toaster arriving!! We had our other toaster for about 8 years now and it made the smoke detectors go off all the time for just regular old toast. I love SMEG appliances, but don’t like the price, this one from @amazon is giving me all the vibes I was going for. We use our toaster constantly and now I can leave her on the counter cause she cute! .
🌼Today our page crossed 1000 followers. A small milestone crossed and a lot to achieve in future. You all have my heart.😊 Now about the pic, it totally describes my situation. I love to sit infront of the stand fan in my house , in this skin burning hot weather. And i feel the hair totally represents my pretty long hairs.😛 If you have manged to read till here, do leave a ❤️ (heart) in the comments section please. Will add on to my beautiful ongoing day.🌼 And guyss 🌼EID MUBARAK🌼 to all you lovely people.
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!! 🙌🏽 I made my dream lamp out of a $4 bag of concrete and it actually worked. I legit made that lamp out of nothing 😳 I’m still touching it because I still can’t believe it! This DIY Concrete Lamp came in at $50 bucks and my dream lamp costs $258 😬 This was probably the most anticipated project I’ve ever made so if you have any DIY Concrete Lamp questions drop them below, and I’ll answer them in the comments!
Now for the real question, who’s going to make one of these babies?! 💡🔌
👉🏼Check our stories for all the behind the scenes! DIY Concrete Lamp Tutorial coming soon y’all! http://liketk.it/2Pq8v #firstname.lastname@example.org
I’ve been wanting a little olive tree but hadn’t found one I loved. So I thought why not make one myself... swipe to see how me and my little assistant made this out of stuff from @michaelsstores and @dollartree for under $15! (I could’ve used a planter I already had at home and made it for even cheaper, but I fell in love with this one) .
The weekend is finally here. 🤗😶
Hope you have a wonderful and safe Friday.
I’ll be sneaking into the garage a bit early to get this bad boy finished up with some paint.
We’ve had a few thunderstorms lately. 😐

The thing that makes me happiest is making the people that mean the most to me happy! Since changing some of the decor in our family room, much of it was no longer being used. Instead of storing it in my ‘market’ as Brett calls it...I decided to surprise my sister! The most recent addition to her home are my two poofs and man do they look cute in here! We decided on a whim a few weeks ago to paint this room white...and honestly it may have been the best decision we’ve made in her home yet!! Looks so much bigger and brighter and she’s BEYOND excited with how it all came together!
Also, if you notice those prints ... gonna toot my own horn and say how great they look in here...and guess what...they were a DIY I just did!! I filmed it all and so excited to share, if you guys want!!! 🖤
Posted @withregram • @oderas_world Hey you guys🙋🏽♀️ What do you know about Lemon essential oil?
The oil is extracted from the peel of fresh lemons using a cold- pressing process. Because the oil is highly concentrated it has to be diluted with a carrier oil before use on skin.
There are people who would swear on the Bible that lemon essential oil is an ingredient that fights exhaustion, helps with depression, and clears skin. It is also said that this essential oil can relieve the severity of Nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy. .
Skin benefits: it is one of several essential oils that kill harmful bacteria that grow on skin. It has antioxidant properties that may brighten and maintain skin tone. It’s antiseptic properties help in treating and clearing skin. It also helps to reduce excessive oil on the skin and remove dead skin cells. So it’s good for oily skin and acne prone skin.
So today was fun! I shared some of my amazing finds...one of which was that cute little wall planter in the corner! Also, those wooden hooks may or may not be staying (I’m still questioning them), but I liked the idea of having a place that people could hang their coats/bags when they come over...if we ever get back to normal social gatherings! Having a place for people to make themselves at home makes it feel more welcoming, which I always love in an entry!
What do you think?! Keep em or keep trying! Not offended either way...because like I’ve said, this is only a temporary situation!
about a month ago I started getting into home DIY/lifestyle and sharing about it; but I just realized that I've yet to talk about this on my feed, in case you missed those stories! the very scientific and reliable polls in my instastories revealed that ya'll are into this content sooo here we are!
the second big project I took on in our house was furnishing this deck from scratch. George and I moved into this 3x2 house from a 300 square foot studio (with no outdoor space) so we've been slowly furnishing it. last month I picked everything out for our deck and it all came together exactly how I envisioned it!
I've never had a real outdoor space since I moved out of my mom's house six years ago ( #apartmentliving ), and I've been dreaming of a space like this this whole time. I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I am to have this now! I'm sooo looking forward to all of the summer days and nights we'll spend out here in this oasis.
swipe for some before and afters, and a look at the details! I'm also working on putting together a blog post with links to everything here so you can shop my look. 😉
what's your must have in your outdoor space?? ☀️🌿🌻
I still can’t believe this is the same space 😱 #ICYMI : My interview with @clarepaint is now live! 🎨 We chat all about this project from start to finish. If you are thinking of making a change to your fireplace, I highly recommend skimming through the article to see my tips + tricks! Link in bio 👏🏼

Pre-Quarantine: I didn’t enjoy walking into our bedroom, I didn’t enjoy photographing it, and I certainly wasn’t proud of it! Mid-Quarantine: I’ve never loved a space more! I originally drew up plans with a black feature wall, but after finding this green paint, I knew that was exactly what our bedroom needed! Then came this side of the room...with all white walls, it was feeling a little mehhh! Decided to paint my grandma’s vintage vanity green to match our accent wall, adjusted the original plan and decided to paint the doors black (but not just the bedroom, all of them 💁🏼♀️...two down, a million to go...)... next up is tackling this fireplace! The plan is to attempt to create a concrete like finish!
Once that’s complete, I think it’s safe to say I can tie a bow on this room! (For now)
It’s warming up in San Diego which makes these indoor/outdoor spaces like client La Costa Greens so useful. Having these servery windows in the kitchen brings the outdoors in.

Some people have asked me about my dining room table lately and for those curious, it was a #DIY from a few years back!🔨 The top is a wooden countertop from IKEA that was cut down & stained. Then we added hairpin legs! The table definitely is not as glam as the rest of our dining room, buttttt you know I like a good mix of styles.👌🏻 This table is one of my favorites because my dad and grandpa helped make it happen so it’s special. 💗 Do you have any pieces your family members have helped with getting a DIY finished?

We are slowly transitioning these walls to look exactly how I envisioned for our home!!! I’m honestly so happy 🖤 ...every little detail is starting to come together.
Ever since I painted our island black last year I have wanted to incorporate more black, white and woods into our home. I love the way it’s neutral, yet makes such a statement. Am I crazy for doing all of this or do you love it as much as I do?! (Say you love it or else you’re coming over to paint it back!)
Next up on the to-do list ... painting all of our doors black...yep...I’m doing it, don’t try to talk me out of it, I already have the paint! 🙃 get excited!!!

Sarà la primavera? 🌸🌷
These are a few of my faaaavorite things 🎶 Harper slept in until almost 9 today 😳 which means I got some one-on-one time with my Billie girl. She vomited all over me last night after screaming in her crib for 2.5 hours after we put her down for bed...so that was cool. Kids have a funny way of humbling you REAL quick. All I gotta say is, thank goodness it’s the weekend... whatever that means these days 😝

Ordered this box of prints by @emilywinfield__ awhile back, and I love them so much. Cannot wait to get more hung up in the kids bathroom and playroom!
The reading nook got a new little friend! 🙌🏽😆 I had so much fun with y'all trying to guess the design for the accent table I was building. Did you come close? What do y'all think of the table and it's new home?! 😍 #sponsored I created this reading nook a few weeks back by shopping our home and incorporating my favorite @article Lento Chair! My "trying to look like white oak" accent table pairs so well with the walnut Lento Chair y'all. This has been my go-to quarantine spot with it's low profile back and I love how versatile it is when I need a minute of peace, sip my cold coffee or answer emails.
👉🏽 Check out my stories to see these two beauties in action and don't worry I'll link them and share a close up of the table too! #ourArticle#lentochair

Does this picture just scream summer?!? (Maybe/maybe not 🙃, but I think it’s pretty festive!) While I can’t veer too far from black and white, the new Cynthia Rowley line of @ruggable rugs adds just the right amount of floral to a neutral space!
And since my bedroom stole the rug that was in here, I thought what better time to feel seasonal than heading into the summer months!!
Anyways, going to try to just stare at this view instead of staring at masons giant bump on his head...insert mom fail! Note to self: don’t let him play in the bathroom near the metal toilet paper holder. Doesn’t end well. Drinking my Marg and praying tomorrow goes a little better 🤞🏽
Are you a rainy day fan? We’ve had two days of cold/rainy weather and I’m ready for some summer sun and heat! Not to mention some green grass and a not so muddy yard. 🤪
Anyways, I’m so excited because the ladies behind #meetmyretreat decided to feature my home today! Some of these ladies are newer to me and let me tell you, their styles are amazing and provide so much inspo!
To play along and have a chance to be featured next week:
It’s starting to feel like a cozy living room (Chloe approves the rug 🥰 @boutiquerugs). Now for some riveting quarantine entertainment help me decide on rug placement. Option 1 or Option 2? 3rd pic is the day we bought the house ✨I’ve always enjoyed building things and dreamed of one day updating our own home, now that it’s here I’ve enjoyed it more than I even imagined!
I spy lots of DIYs in this pic... Fireplace Shiplap, Fireplace Mantel and floating shelves!
Paint is @sherwinwilliams Pure White (walls) & Black Magic (fireplace)
I put up a little friendly Friday reminder, perfect for life these days! Also, I’m thrilled to have been chosen as this weeks spotlight by some pretty great gals! 🖤

We have yet to settle on curtain colors for the master bedroom or make our bed every day. We literally have one color curtain panel on my side of the room and another color on Cody's side. WHAT IS HAPPENING 😂 There was one thing we could decide on and that's our @magiclinen bed sheets and duvet. I've loved linen bed sheets from afar and never commited to them but we are both sold. Spoiler alert 🚨 : we already slept in these babies last night and omgggg. So soft 🙌🏽 Still trying to convince Cody a "blanket in a blanket" is a thing. He thinks Duvet covers are a lie 🤣 Anyone else have issues trying to tell your significant other about design trends and just design in general? I'm going on 5 years of still trying to convince him of the throw pillow situation. 🤷🏽♀️ #magiclinen#sponsored .

Yes, still tweaking the kids room, BUT my assistant had an idea and I couldn’t say no. She saw these racks stacked in my “have but haven’t used decor pile” (anybody else have one of those?) She brought me two and said “Mama let’s hang these for books.” I wasn’t going to use these for books in here because not only do we have a rolling library cart full of books, but we also have a bench with books on bottom. However, I loved that she had an idea and wanted to do it, so more book storage it is. .
Reading to her “tudents”... .
Raise your hand if you fell victim to the Hearth and Hand major clearance deals at @target 🙋🏼♀️ I could not pass up these quilts and sheets for the kids room. I mean $7.49 for sheets!!!! And these quilts are PERFECT for when summer rolls around and the comforters get put away... I did have some major self control and didn’t buy everything... but I’ve been wanting to get stuff for my kids beds that will last and last and the bedding they have now will do just that. .
We've hit the big 3-0! No, I’m not 30 yet - but I am 30 weeks pregnant 😬 We still have yet to figure out names and all the nursery stuff for baby #2 especially since we're contemplating transforming Liv’s nursery into a toddler room - AKA ditch the crib. I mean why not ditch the crib while we're at it? We already took away the binkie and are attempting to potty train 🤦🏽♀️ Why not make this harder on ourselves, am I right?! 😂 Are we crazy? Should we nix the nursery for baby #2 till they need it and leave Liv in her crib? Soooo many decisions y'all. At least we're certain about one thing...we're still waiting till the birth to find out the gender and I couldn't be more excited about it!
➡️SWIPE➡️ to see the before of Liv's Nursery! Just goes to show what you can do with a little paint, a few DIY projects and decor. HUGE remodels aren't the answer to everything y'all 👏🏼 http://liketk.it/2EGzZ #firstname.lastname@example.org

I'm getting so excited about the next big project we're going to start! If you saw my stories this weekend, then you saw a sneak peak at what our next project involves...an IKEA hack! Y'all know I love me a good IKEA hack 😬 We started this jack + Jill remodel when I was 6 months pregnant with Liv and a week before Cody was leaving for deployment. Can we talk about bad timing?! We're about to start another remodel and I'm now 7.5 months pregnant with baby #2 😆 If that's not a testament to real life renovation I don't know what is? There is never a "good" time to start. Whether it's a home renovation, your first DIY project or starting a family. I'm definitely a HUGE planner in our family, but I've found that jumping in head first has always been the most rewarding!
We start remodels at the wrong time ALL the time over here. Like remodeling our laundry room and learning how to tile in the first trimester of pregnancy. Or taking on woodworking projects and not having a clue how to build something. Were really good at starting huge projects just in time for Cody to leave 😂 The best advice I can ever give y'all is to start now - weather you're ready or not. Just start now!
