A sunny bank holiday weekend just isn't the same without a leisurely, child-free stroll around a car boot sale, looking for treasures. I really miss the thrill of the hunt - hopefully come August I'll once again be able to get my fix of 'Vintage Finds' - today's @houseandhomemagazine photo prompt 😉
Speaking of all things vintage, I'm in the process of giving our 'container shed' a makeover at the moment. We never built a garage and instead converted the container that was on site during the build. It serves us well but a bit of TLC is long overdue. If you missed my stories, swipe for a look at the progress to date. Hoping to crack on with it over the weekend 💪
Enjoy the sunshine folks, looks like it's here to stay, for a while anyway 😉

We blocked up the original back door and went through the out buildings making a new utility room and shower room
The space definitely works better for us this way •
I took a break today. My girl and I took a walk, I did some gardening with my husband, did some catching up on a podcast, cooked fajitas, and sat in my thrifted wicker rocking chair and just breathed. 🌳
My favorite thrift store opened back up this week. On one hand I want to go and show my support, but on the other I’m still weary of going out while the numbers of cases in L.A. county are still high. I’m going to listen to my gut and will wait a little longer. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! ❤️

Wahoo! It’s been a fun couple weeks of selling and buying. After being cooped up in the house for so long, I was itching to change things up. If you’re just joining in, the premise here is to sell your stuff first then buy new old stuff from your earnings. Hence, the #netzerodecor way. 🤓 Anywhere or any way you can buy secondhand goods, for the sake of earth and wallet conservation, is on the table. Thrift shops, yard sales, consignment stores, church bazaars, Nextdoor, Facebook Marketplace, other local buy/sell groups and swap meets are just the beginning. The “way” turned into a veritable obsession...then turned into this insta-blog to provide a creative outlet...for this other creative outlet. 😂 It combines several of my hobbies (thrifting, photography, writing, decor...) into one compact set of squares that I can hold in my hand. When a thought pops into my head, I unleash it here....on y’all...my loyal netzerodecor groupies. And I appreciate each and every one of you. 🤩 So, meet here to share the thrill of a deal, ask decor questions, read a little story, and be encouraged to spend less, use less and waste less. 🌎 💵
Why this photo, you ask? 1. I am showing you a $4 NWT zippered beach coverup from #salvationarmyfamilystore (where clothing is 1/2 price on Wacky Wednesdays) and 2. This angle is, by far, the best way to instantly lose 10 pounds. 🤷🏻♀️ #eitherthatorveggies #followalongforagoodtime

Wishing all of my sweet friends a happy & cozy Friday night! 💫
My first educational flat lay! 🔍We’ve been patiently waiting for more sunny days 🌞🌧 until then we’ve been doing our nature studies indoors. Today we learned how the rain helps flowers grow! Juliet’s favorite activity has been sorting beans & creating bean art! She has been able to grasp larger concepts these days so we’ve started using flash cards more, she loves being able to attach a picture to the words we learn, when available I like to show her in real life. 🌼
The little brown booklets are going to be the girls field journals to put leaves, feathers & flowers in! 🌿

Agnès & Xavi dropped us off in a Lidl car park, where we could buy ourselves some food for the journey and hopefully find someone to drive us across the Pyrenees into Spain.
I went inside to buy supplies while Jon waited outside with our rucksacks. A man dropped a euro coin into the metal pot we had tied to one of them. This was by no means the purpose of the pot but I suppose it would be rude to turn down a free euro from a kindly stranger
Our first ride was a skinny dark haired woman with matching diamantée trainers and phone, who chain smoked as she explained that she was driving to Andorra to buy cigarettes. Our second ride was a white haired woman in her fifties who turned her car around to come back and get us. Our third and final ride was a young North African man who took pity on us and told us that the reason he picked us up was because no one else would. He dropped us in Lleida where we caught the train.
We arrived at Nuria and Xavi’s house (another Xavi) in the mountains at night. Nuria and I had been best friends in our teens, sharing a love of Portishead and forming a band with a few others where I wrote the lyrics and she composed the music and sang the songs.
She was the first of my school friends to have a baby and this journey felt like a pilgrimage towards the new shift in our lives. While we were there we cooked, we cleaned and we got to know baby Saïd and our old friends as new parents. We also made a plasticine stop-motion animation about Saïd and all the animals that lived there. I will dig this out and share it with you one day.
After two weeks, Nuria was complaining that we were making her fat and we had plans to stop off in Barcelona to see a friend and eat deep fried sardines at La Plata, so we packed our bags and hugged until the next time. I mis these magical two weeks with every fibre in my body.
Tomorrow, chapter V for our return to France and arrival at Les Seilols.
Happy Friday!! I have been cleaning and organizing our garage this week...not fun or exciting! This little stool had been buried in there for what seems like forever. It belonged to my grandma and I can remember my sister, brother and myself fighting over who was going to sit on it when we were little. I’m thinking it’s got to be at least 50 years old, maybe older. I cleaned the wood and recovered the cushion and now she’s good as new!! Any fun plans for the weekend?
Well here’s a good Before and After shot for you. I loved my framed photos of the beach we’ve taken over the years, but they just didn’t flow well in my living room. So I replaced them with a #basketwall
I think it’s so much better. Something just looks right about it. I may have to tweak the wall a bit, but so far I’m loving it. 👉🏻 swipe for before photo
Lets ride off into this weekend on this beautiful light blue with gold detail vintage horse planter! This one covers so many loves. If you love, vintage, horses and plants this one has you covered! $29.00 shipped
This week's #virtualvintagehunt game has me dreaming about travel. Last year my husband and I put off travel for our first trip together overseas. We couldn't agree where to go!! We dreamed about Paris or New Zealand, the Netherlands, maybe Prague? Of course now with the current situation we certainly regret that delay 😒✈️But we always have the wonderful New Jersey seashore 🌅 for now!
Cooler / lunch box
This sweet little room has been moved around a few times in the past two years we’ve lived here but over the weekend we moved the little girls out and our oldest in! We actually moved around a few rooms upstairs. I’ll show you more once I get things in order. The hallway took the brunt of the destruction so it’s looking very tornado chic right now. 😬 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

One by one, slowly but surely, it’s all coming together.
I’m a huge proponent for the fact that #hometakestime - It’s all about the vibe and how your personal pieces fit.
I never run out and buy a bunch of new things for a space. Mainly because I just don’t have the cash and vintage will always have my 💙

Remembering those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom today and always. Happy Memorial Day!🇺🇸 .
And I’m back!
It’s been a while (over a month 😬) since I last posted.
We’re all obviously going through some crazy times, really scary, bleak etc. So I took some time to reset. But now, it’s time to jump back into making this apartment amazing.
Next up? Some quick painting projects and refinishing a gorgeous alley find.
I’ll be ramping up my stories to document the processes, classic shit from me. Let’s go!

Things are starting to get reeeeeeaaal homey around here.
Last night I did my classic move of staying up until 4am arranging and rearranging art I want to hang.
Usually I throw shit up on the wall and figure it out, but since I’m now a renter, I tried the paper mock-up method and I must say, fuck yes. So much easier.
#myhome Who else loves shelves but dread styling them? I just can never get them to where I love it... every time I look at my shelves .. they’re like Blahhhh... but this will have to do for now.. I’m needed somewhere FUN .
Hope you guys are having a great Sunday! 😊 .
And finally, I have a couch!
I've already talked about how I take a long time to decorate a room. I'm a sucker for vintage and a found piece is always just so special, but a woman has to know when the time has come for a brand-new piece of custom furniture, and that time is now.
So when I came to face the painstaking and enormous decision about which new sofa to get, I was a bit stumped. There were so many things to consider! Color? Material? Style?
So many questions, but one thing I was always sure about was that my sofa would come from @Joybird.
I had a beautiful sofa from Joybird in my last place and the entire process of shopping from choosing all the custom materials to delivery was fantastic and the product was even more so.
When I moved I knew it had to be @joybird again, so I was unbelievably excited when they agreed to collaborate and gift me the absolutely stunning Chelsea sofa you see here!
I love the clean lines, subtle mid-century vibes, and especially the gorgeous brass-capped legs.
I could not be happier with how this piece turned out and also that I now have a beautiful place to sit in my new home!
I'm getting up close and personal with the Chelsea on my stories later today so check them out to get all the details! #sponsored#MYjoybird#GFDmedia
