So tonight was a little bit emotional. Amazingly some of my prints appeared on @diysoshow on @bbciplayer with @nickknowles 🖤👄 I “The episode “The Big Build Bromsgrove” is a really touching story about Jo and William who live with sister Karis who uses a wheelchair. Making the space accessible and chic for her was a priority. It’s a real tearjerker when you see how thrilled she is to have a space she can comfortably use AND looks amazing. Thank you interior design queen @sophierobinsoninteriors for making it happen! 🙌🏽👄💋 Biggest hugs to all the team! ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Woah! You all are buying up my items before I even get them posted these days! So many pretty things sold the past few days. Thank you for supporting this shop and I’m so happy you’re loving the things I find! Be sure to watch my stories as that’s where I often update on what’s coming next. Happy shopping!!
Pink to make the boys wink! 😉 That's today theme over at Chez No. 31. Thought I'd jump at the chance of using my latest commission as a prop for styling and mix up this old living room a bit. Kinda like it though. And want to keep it. But I know it's morally and ethically wrong to keep commission furniture, so it will be getting returned soon 😢 It is wrong to keep it, isn't it?! It's not just me being overly, you know, cautious?
Flipping love the colour though. Might have to get myself a few pieces that I can give the Antoinette treatment to! Any excuse!
And, in other news, I've discovered after all these years I do quite like artichoke. I've always given it a wide berth, because frankly I've never been able to work out what the hell it is or what it's trying to do. But there we go. I was wrong!
I’m sure this is one a few of you would be able to sympathise with... @designermumetc finds it totally absurd that she celebrated her boy’s fifth birthday today... why do they grow up so quickly? Belle, I hope you all had a fab day, what a great space to celebrate in, I’m particularly loving your sign from Gods Own Junk Yard! Leila x
My boys both have the middle name Crane (CJ is Chris Jr.) so when I saw this woodblock on the @hermanschwartzgallery feed, I knew it would be perfect for CJ’s nursery. And honestly, all he wanted for Christmas was some mid century art. Good taste already...
(The acrylic name sign is my MIL’s handwriting and is from @fromrawmaterials - she’s local and did an amazing job!)
about once a year we restock on greeting cards. now’s that time of year! holiday, birthday, and just because cards are available at the shop for the giving time of year. i mean, even with an a-frame holiday card, it’s still tough to choose a favorite.
we’re open 12-6 today!

Hi everyone! ♥️ .
Well Wednesday work day is over! Me and Sam want to do a cheap (nearly free) date night tonight! Do any of you have any suggestions please? 🤪 .
Mega love 💓

I think I spent the last 3 hours of my sleep dreaming I was running late for my flight
I got up at 3am, cuz island 🏝and ferry ⛴ life ensures you add extra hours to anywhere you’re going 🤦♀️
To add to my panic of being late to catch the boat, which in turn would make me miss my flight, I also dreamt that emergency vehicles were racing up our street
Mind you there are only about 6 house on our street and we’re pretty spread out so to even think about emergency vehicles coming up our road was straight up terrifying
Hey Sandman, why the hell are you trying to stress me out before I even crawl outta bed?!? Although this is a common occurrence when I travel solo
I also have had a life long fear of being late. Ever since I was a kid. Always feared going to school and entering class late and the whole room screeching to a halt and everyone staring at me. Anyone else have that fear? No? Just me? Cool
No i stało się.
We had a big declutter in the kitchen on Sunday and I started turning the top two shelves of my Shit Cupboard into a larder! Woohoo! Basically I moved a load of old cake tins and other tat I didn't need out and sent it to the charity shop, then moved my spice basket in. It's slow progress and definitely nowhere near my @neptunehomeofficial larder of dreams 😫. I also, while sorting through my unnecessarily vast collection of tea towels, found a couple that I've been hoarding because they're OBVIOUSLY going to be valuable one day. A quick check on Ebay however dashed my hopes, so after they've come out of the wash they'll be off to the charity shop too. It feels brill getting rid of things!
I did a new blog post yesterday, all about ways to make Christmas a bit more affordable. The link is in my bio if you fancy a read x
When I was a trainee journalist many decades ago I was always sent out to interview the family that celebrated Christmas every day. Tree up all year round and turkey dinner day in day out. Funny how Instagram is feeling a little like this at the moment! Thanks to far too many cases of FOMO, competitive decorating is getting earlier each year. I have three words people - “it’s still November”. Now I love Christmas. I love every bit about it, from choosing the perfect pressies and sharing mulled wine with friends to sitting down with family and loved ones to enjoy a slap up meal (a vegan one in our case, but slap up nonetheless). I suspect the obsession with engagement rates and getting all the likes in mean it’s all about being the first, the best, the biggest. Before social media, how many of us desperately wanted to put up our Christmas tree in November? If you did, that’s great. If not, back away from the baubles and put the tinsel (sorry, Insta-worthy holly garland) down for just one more week! At this rate we’ll be getting ready for Easter in January 🤣 Anyone else feeling this?
De-clutter for today’s #myhousethismonth 🖤
The pumpkins are gone, the 2020 diary is on the table and - prepare to be shocked - I’ve even finally worked out where we will be for Christmas!.
Do you do the thing of alternating years with your other half’s family? Well we’ve had so many disrupted years with the house reno I’m not sure where we even are with our score sheets, but I was really hoping to get back to Dublin for cmas for the first time in forever. Anyway it’s not happening and we are staying put... Plan made ... family coming here🎄. And it will be lovely. .
Meanwhile having a rare Wednesday treat and taking am off to lunch and the theatre later today. But first a long overdue coffee with @loudarchitects and a quick catch up with @pat_mcnulty . What are all your plans? 🖤
So we do get a lot of flack in the interiors world for not portraying our homes realistically. If you called in to HCT unannounced you would pretty much find it looking like it does on the grid. We all like to use a few little tricks to make our pictures stand out and to show the surroundings in the best light.
I thought I would do you a little swipy to show some Insta reality and to give you some of my styling tips. *Know your angles: My bathroom is a lot smaller in real life than it looks in photographs, I know exactly the spot to sit in to show it to its best advantage, and it’s not even in the same room. *Remove all the everyday boring stuff, and things that clutter up the picture. You won’t see my treseme shampoo, imperial leather shower gel, and flannel kicking around usually. *Use props wisely, we all love a little bit of styling and I like to reflect the different seasons in my pictures with flowers and plants. You will probably spot the same props in my pictures over and over again, I think those in the know call it ‘Shopping your house’ *Be sympathetic with your filtering, I’m not a massive fan of over filtered pictures, but I do use snapseed to brighten, sharpen and remove shadows. *I can spot mistakes better in a photograph, so I like to take a picture, sit down and look at it and then move things around so the composition is just right.
