HORSETAIL FALLS, YOSEMITE
It is quite a fascinating sight to witness Horsetail Falls being illuminated by the last light of day in winter. Photographing it has become quite the annual ritual ! Having made that photograph a few years back, I was looking to create a variation.
The ample snow pack a few years ago ensured that the falls were in full flow by spring. While making this image, what caught my eye was the dramatic back-lighting illuminating not just the falls, but also the mist swirling around it. I used the dark granite foreground as a point of anchor for the image.
BIG NEWS! We’re going on a road trip!!! 25 days, 20 National Parks, 12 states, 2 adults, 1 baby, altogether in the Hatch! Are we crazy? Maybe. Are we going to have the time of our life? Absolutely. Blake and I made a goal when we got married to visit all the US National Parks together in our lifetime! So we planned a trip to get us halfway there. We leave in one week! Please be praying for us on this trip for safety while driving and exploring the national parks! Ruminate By Rachel will still be in business so you can still buy all the things— orders may get shipped out from somewhere else and take a longer time to get to you 😊 follow along with us as we will post an update each week! #roadtrip#nationalparks
Go ride your bike! It’s the last day to ride your bikes on the Going to the Sun Road with NO cars 🚲 🚲
The GTTSR opens up tomorrow to Rising Sun and you’ll have to turn around, no exiting out in the east side! So make sure you have plenty of gas in your tank ⛽️ And your patience! It’s going to be crowded...everywhere!
High in the Sierra Nevada mountains, with the John Muir trail passing by, is a beautiful small park, Devils Postpile National Monument. You should make it a plan for a #smallparksaturday
Thanks to Barry @barryklee for sharing the beautiful Rainbow Falls.
A nice weekend outside 🌈🏞
