Located in the southern region of the state of Amazonas, Brazil, on the Madeira River, in the municipality of Manicoré, between the Rio Madeira reserve (RDS Rio Madeira) and the Rio Amapá reserve (RDS Rio Amapá), the Amazonian Sustainable Reserve: Amazon Rio I, is the first reserve for sustainable development owned and managed by a private organization ever created in the history of the Amazon. It is made up of a mosaic of seven separate properties, which cover 14,452 hectares (35,712 acres) of primary forest. It is located in the municipality of Manicoré in the state of Amazonas, Brazil.

Thought I’d post a more holiday themed photo, of Blue Holly (Ilex maserveae). I love this plant just because of how unique it is. The beauty of the dark green leaves with the sharpened spines, along with the bright red vibrant berries just screams Christmas. This is one of the only plants I’ve seen that has such a glossy look, and it just goes amazingly well with the rest of the plant in my opinion! Along the lines of my last post, I’ll post the before and after with the after being first.
