Lamentablemente se puede apreciar también el retroceso de la capa de hielo en lugares como Islandia. En este caso, el frente del glaciar ha retrocedido 50 metros con respecto a donde estaba el año pasado. Cueva de hielo en Islandia. Invierno 2020.
Sadly you can also see the retreating of the ice cap in places like Iceland. In this case the front of the glacier is 50 meters back from where it was last year. Ice cave in Iceland. Winter 2020.

Photographed nearly 2 years ago, this adult buzzard still visits the hide and can been seen over the nearby woodland almost every day.
Working with wildlife always carries the danger that your subject may disappear (sometimes literally overnight), especially when they belong to a species prone to persecution, predation or death under the wheel of a vehicle.
I try and remain optimistic when it comes to the animals that I've photographed continuously over the last few years. After all, there's no point worrying about what I can't prevent but that aside, I try not to take for granted the amazing experiences I've had with 'the locals'. I'm looking forward to hopefully photographing this beautiful bird again this winter and for several more to come!
