Lesson in life:
Pulled over by flashy lights
Me: rolls my window down
Police: you haven’t got your head lights on
Me: shit! Sorry .... oh shit I swore - sorry for that too..twice... new car, have to remember lights!
Police: hysterically laughing at me and drive away
What an absolute oaf! 🤷♀️🙄 #needaholiday#alwaysturnyourlightson#dontswear
LOOKING FOR AN AUTHENTIC ISLAND-LIFE EXPERIENCE? 🏝👙😎If yes, read on.
The San Blas Islands remain untouched and un-commercialized. ✨Pretty remarkable in these times.
No cell phone data. No wifi. Instead be serenaded to sleep by the waves. 🌊 And be summoned to dinner by conch shell.
This won't be luxury travel. Some of the lodging in fact is quite primitive. Cabins, tents and hammocks. •
Instead you are welcomed to the homelands of the Kuna people. English isn't widely spoken. So practice up on your Spanish.
Despite the otherworldly feel, once you are in Panama City it's fairly uncomplicated to reach the San Blas Islands. They are east of Panama and far closer than Bocas de Toro.
Most tours will pick you up from your hotel. There are only a few agencies that coordinate these tours and you must use them as they work directly with the Kuna people.
Budget on the higher end is about $400 pp for 3 nights, 3 islands, including all transportation, activities and food. Excluding booze so BYOB. Plus bring cash for tips. And colds beer which will be worth it!
Pack lightly - lots of sunblock, your water filter, soap, shampoo, TP and you only need flip flops. ☀️ Plus you must have your passport. And bring a portable charger.
You can do a day trip. But I think that you would regret not staying longer.
You can also sail from the San Blas Islands to Cartagena, Colombia or vice versa. This will take 4-5 days and will also not be a luxury experience. But I've heard rave reviews.🌟
So what do you think. Do the San Blas Islands deserve a place on your travel list?
You can do a day trip but I think you'll regret not staying longer. This is a once in a lifetime experience. 💯

This week's hot deal on the Wyndham Panama City Resort is perfect for escaping to luxury on the green Gulf of Mexico this winter! Check in on 12/21/19 for 7 nights of soaking in the sun and strolling along the white sand beach.
Today is urgh just urgh. I’m tired and hormonal and not going to see my kids before bed and still on a train home from London and I want to crawl into a hole for 7 days and not come out. This is the reality of full time work with two children. This tired, grey, old looking face. Mostly you just keep on keeping on and wing it minute by minute and pray the wheels don’t come off. Very occasionally you manage to congratulate yourself for getting through another day. Even less frequently you let yourself think you might deserve a bit of credit for doing it. And sometimes you sit down and just feel totally and utterly overwhelmed by it all. @grambriel pour me a large one please... #exhausted#fulltimeworkingmum#ilookold#needaholiday#itm#insidethemum#selfcareneeded#mumlife#momlife
