Kala Patthar, 5643m.
I've never been so close to the sky on my own feet before. It's the highest point you can reach without technical gear or oxygen supplies, "with your own legs and lungs".
At this altitude the available oxygen is half than that at sea level. While up there, on the top of that mountain lit by the setting sun - Everest - it's one third.
It looks like a candid mountain sunset photo, but the reality is I'm so tired from the climb, cold for the -25°C and delirious from the lack of oxygen, that I don't remember having taken some of the photos.
The lungs burn with every breath up here, and the heart seems to get out of your chest.
Maybe a bit for the climb, maybe more for the emotions.
I try to wipe the tears off my cheeks, I realise they're frozen.

The time of Autumn (September, October, November) and Spring (March, April, May) is the best time for the Everest Base Camp trek. During these times, the weather remains stable for long.
There are lower risks of drastic variations in weather and climate in Everest. Also, the atmosphere is clear, and so are the surrounding vistas.
The Everest Base Camp trek 14 Days is doable all year around. You will have a comfortable Everest Base Camp Trek while trekking during the best times. However, trekking in Winter and Monsoon is quite hard. The lumps of snow over the trails and the extreme cold of winter is hard to resist.
During monsoon, the trails become wet and slippery. Above that, you are likely to see lots of pests and bugs on the trekking trails, including the leeches
