The colours of Nepal 🌈 You’ll notice these prayer flags strung up around temples, stupas and all over the mountains. Each colour signifies an element: blue is sky, white is air, red is fire, green is water and yellow is the earth. They promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom and create so much colour wherever they go.

This is another property I was talking about in my last post.
Kantipur Temple House was a very different kind of hotel experience for me. It is one of the finer eco-hotels in Kathmandu and lies right in its heart, Thamel. Thamel is quite popular among travellers.
On to the hotel again, Kantipur Temple House is like a fortress, with an amalgamation of temple and fort like architecture but Nepalese style. Its decor is traditional and although it may appear to be a closed building, you will be amazed to know that it is still fully ventilated and to the extent that their ain't AC anywhere in the hotel. Yes, you read it right. They just have table or pedestal fans in the room. The design is such that you won't feel hot. They are true to their "eco" reputation. Even the linen used is natural fabric, the furniture is wooden and soap in bathrooms, locally made (ayurvedic kind). In their dining hall they have both dining tables and traditional style seating. They have verandah, again the traditional one.
I loved my one night stay there.
For my amazing breakfast spread at this property stay tuned till the next post comes up.

Discover Namche Bazaar, a gateway to the high Himalayas of the Mt. Everest region. Rising to an elevation of 3,440 meters, visit this relatively small town that is a bustling tourist zone and a trading hub of the Khumbu region.
I have always been a dog person but now petrified of them since the day a dog in Spiti bit a German traveler while he was petting him!! 🙈
I don't remember a single trek where we haven't been accompanied by mountain dogs. They have this strange way of guarding you in the mountains which makes the entire journey even more memorable.
This was one such moment at the Base Camp, in a place where you least expect to find them. At least 5-6 of them are living at there. But well, mountain dogs are beasts that ways, lovable ones.
